Chapter 99: Tournament Conclusion Well-nigh

Yokuza was sent flying across the training hall before backflipping through the air and sliding across the floor until coming to a complete stop. Yokuza clicked his shoulder while holding a dawnite claymore in the corresponding hand and straightened out his back.

"I thought Five was being overexaggerative when she described you as super adaptive," Two (the male, claymore-wielding royal knight) said as he kickflipped a dawnite claymore into his hand.

"Yeah... you're not too bad yourself, old timer," Yozuka stated before getting into the Ox Guard stance (the user holds the sword's handle by their head). Two laughed and spun his claymore on the tip of his finger like a basketball.

"Just a word of advice, don't go calling Six anything even remotely similar to an old timer if you want a reasonable training exercise.". Two flicked the claymore off his finger and frisbeed it straight for Yokuza.

"I'll keep that in mind.". Yokuza deflected the spinning claymore before sprinting straight for Two, running past Prima as she was frantically and panickedly evading a barrage of fists from Three (the female, giant gauntlet-wielding royal knight).

Yumi and Sapphire sat patiently as they watched their siblings less than elegantly fend off their respective mentors. Five walked past the two sisters and told them it would be their turn in a second, so they should prepare themselves. Coco lightly bonked her forehead with her fist and deeply yawned while the other kids were watching Callie's children train with the royal guards.

"Watching is cool and all, but if we don't get to participate, I'd rather watch that live-streamed tournament," Zariah muttered aloud as she wobbled her head squid-tentacles. The door to the training hall opened, and Callie walked into the room while dragging a longsword with a blade made of a deep blue crystal material behind her.

"You don't need to worry about missing the tournament the Emperor King already recorded it, oh and it's already over so you might as well stay here," Callie said as she dragged the crystal longsword past the bleachers before Xero picked up the crystal longsword.

"Wait, it's already over?! But-but the prince said the last part only just started!" Lulu blurted out. The group of kids gathered behind Lulu and asked Callie if the tournament was really over.

"Yeah? So, the prince made a detour before he went to his study?" Callie asked as Xero walked off with the crystal longsword. The kids nodded their heads in a somewhat synchronized fashion.

"He sure did, tho he only came in since he probably heard Yoku crash into the bleachers over there," Coco said while pointing at the bleachers with a hole in it that's cartoonishly shaped like Yokuza.

"Oh, makes sense. Most people would check out a loud sound if they hear one," Callie said.

"Mama! What do you mean the tournament is over?"Prima cried out. Callie turned around to see Prima pouting and puffing up her cheeks. Callie placed two fingers on her forehead and pushed up her goggles.

"Fret not, my fire-ry daughter, for that-". Callie spun on the spot, but her expression soured when she saw the giant wall-mounted TV smashed halfway into the wall.

"That was the thing Yoku crashed into before the bleachers," Coco said as she massaged her ears. Callie lowered her head and slumped her cat ears and tail. Callie let out a pessimistic sigh and rubbed her fingers against her eyes.

"Xero... could you fix the TV.". Xero nodded his head before handing the crystal sword to Yokuza and flew over to the TV.

A few minutes ago, Xinia stood at a standstill against Zalroth thanks in most part to her intangibility which she mentally knew. Xinia glanced to her right, and Zalroth instantly appeared in the spot Xinia was looking. The two repeated these actions a few times before Xinia closed her eyes and rubbed the sides of her head.

"What a hassle. Why'd he have to get faster? The second I try to grab the bell he'll be able to deal with me.". Xinia placed a hand on her chin and lightly squeezed it as she pondered her options.

"No... nada... that won't work....". Xinia sighed, opening her eyes to see Zalroth looking back at Kai and Kunai sitting on his tails while telling Kai to be careful not to drop her ice cream. Zalroth twitched his fingers and smirked as Kai watched Xinia make a beeline for the bell. Xinia leapt forwards and reached out for the bell.

Xinia's fingertips were seconds away from reaching the bell before a cyan blur grabbed her foot and hoisted her backwards. She sombrely sighed as she was pulled away from the bell.

"Well, it was worth a shot- hold on.". Xinia glared at her hands and saw she was still intangible. She looked at her foot only to see the tip of Zalroth's tail wrapped around it, and Xinia notice the tail was covered by a cyan-coloured Disruptive Pulse mana.

"Huh?" Xinia uttered before being tossed across the arena. Zalroth smirked and dispersed the Disruptive Pulse mana around his tail. Chronia appeared on Zalroth''s back, and she wrapped her arms around Zalroth.

"Oh, Master Chronia," Kai said before going back to eating her ice cream. Chronia pressed her face against Zalroth's back and groaned, her strong droning causing herself and Zalroth to vibrate.

"Still mad, are you?". Chronia repeatedly bopped the bottom of her fists against Zalroth's back before eventually raising her head and nuzzling her chin on the top of Zalroth's head.

"No... just exhausted is all.".

"You wanna vent to me?".

"Nah, wouldn't want to throw off your focus by telling you that Kara knows about the Phantom thing," Chronia murmured into Zalroth's ears as a grin slowly grew on her face. Zalroth flinched, sighing as he itched the inside of his ear.

"Heh... not surprising, but you asked her not to tell anyone, I hope?". Chronia attempted to respond only a loud yawn escaped her lips before she rolled her head forwards and instantly conked out. Zalroth breathed in and disjointedly breathed out in short bursts.

"Is the person Master Chronia mentioned knowing about the Phantom bad?" Kai asked as Kunai was sitting on her head and curled up to look like an afro.

"Probably not, if Lola's description of Kara is anything to go by.". Kai nodded before resuming to eat her ice cream. Zalroth clicked his neck and repeatedly tapped his fists together as Xinia returned, drenched head to toe in water, with her intangibility deactivated.

"Didn't expect that...," Xinia uttered to herself. Xinia shook her head to get a marginal amount of water out of her hair. Zalroth raised an eyebrow and leaned to the side to look behind Xinia. Zalroth looked upon the lake which had settled in the area as Mimi was blasted into the lake with an explosive splash by a light mana beam.

Mimi cackled like a maniac as she rocketed out of the water, and a large water mound rose from where Mimi emerged. Mimi somersaulted upwards before breaking out of the somersault and landing on top of something made of water. Mimi flexed her body, and all the water on her body vaporised.

"It seems the Magistrate's gotten more tricky to deal with... how frustrating," Mimi murmured aggressively whilst her snake heads hissed. Mimi tensed up her hand and plunged it into the water mound. The water mound rapidly shook, morphing into a towering ten-headed water hydra as it drew in the majority of the water filling the arena. Mimi ripped her hand free from the water hydra head with a large water scythe in her hand. Mimi stared down Zuno before remotely piloting the water hydra and making it charge for Zuno.

"Should've seen that coming," Zalroth said mentally before he got back into his semi-serious fighting stance as Xinia finished drying herself off with fire magic.
