Chapter 131: Early Birthday Present

Chapter 131: Early Birthday Present

In a dimly lit large rectangular bronze brick chamber, Lola energetically marched in front of the others atop the aqueduct-shaped wall as everyone inspected the floating balls of orange qi, which served as the sole form of light within the chamber.

"I didn't think getting through this place would be so... straightforward," Lumios remarked, causing Nola to glance at him as she floated beside him.

"Well, last I checked, the last stretch to a boss room is like that," Nola uttered snarkily as she clung to The Radiant Beacon like a teddy bear. Lumios amusedly huffed and placed his hands behind his back.

"Given you're the expert here, I suppose I'll just take you at your word," Lumios said smugly, causing Nola to huff aggressively.

"I don't appreciate your tone, and if anyone shouldn't be taken at their word it certainly tied between you and my pops," Nola stated coldly under her breath before she flew off to catch up to Nola. Lumios halted his stroll and awkwardly itched his collarbone.

"That was... abrupt," Lumios uttered mentally as he glanced down to the ground and noticed the adult-sized plain pale golden eyeless featureless mask on the ground in front of his feet. Lumios crouched down and picked up the mask only to find a snow-white silverwood magnifying glass with a thick waterly-like lens that had nine crystal marbles inside it (maroon, pale yellow, dark green, pale red and orange, pale beige, pale cyan, chestnut brown, pale purple, and orange).

"This must be the divine weapon Lumina mentioned. I think she said it was called The Eye of Revelation... and are these...," Lumios thought to himself. Lumios examined The Eye of Revelations and the marbles in its lens in particular. Lumios went to grab The Eye of Revelation but hesitated for a second before scooping it up using the mask. Lumios grabbed one of the scales of his miruku tendrils and yanked it off without flinching before a new scale formed from alchemic energy.

Lumios coated the miruku in alchemic energy, transforming the scale into a super long fuzzy white scarf with a scale texture covered in golden and red poker dots. Lumios swiftly wrapped The Eye of Revelation and the golden mask in the fuzzy scarf before he pulled a fluffy half-snow-white and half-blond fur bag out from his storage pocket bubble (the bubble is golden with rainbow particle spots). Lumios placed bundled items into the fur bag before he placed the bag back in his storage pocket bubble.

"Hurry up, brother, don't be a slow poke this is supposed to be a serious situation!" Destiny announced as she and Kara sat on a floating red Qi mini racing car.

"You shouldn't be in such a rush, Destiny; you might miss out otherwise," Lumios remarked as he rose to his feet and marched over to the group. Other than Nola and Destiny, the group heeded Lumios' remark and checked the ground as they walked past many items. Destiny squinted her eyes and stared straight at Lumios as he walked behind Kara's floating Qi mini racing car.

"Is... something the matter?" Lumios asked as a drop of sweat ran down his face. Destiny remained silent as she continued to stare.

"Are you overworking yourself again?" Destiny asked sternly. Lumios flinched and itched his collarbone.

"What makes you think that?" Lumios uttered. Destiny raised a hand and pointed at Lumios as he continued to itch his collarbone.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

"That, and you called me by my name." Lumios choked on air, adverting his gaze as his left iris glowed Persian green. Lumios stumbled over his works but eventually caved and exhaled as his iris reverted to normal.

"You got me," Lumios uttered as he and his miruku tendrils did jazz hands.

"That's it! From now on, I'm gonna make sure you're sleeping when you're supposed to, brother," Destiny stated much to Lumios' displeasure.

Meanwhile, Kimmi-Ka sat silently on her kitsune miruku tails, watching the sleeping Minia and the other toddlers as they slept on Minia's kitsune tails. Kimmi-Ka glanced around the room and saw no one else in the room was awake. Kimmi-Ka swung her body forward and landed on her feet. Kimmi-Ka turned in the direction of the room's door and took a step towards it.

However, she paused and glanced at one of her tails as she raised it to her face. Kimmi-Ka reached into her tail and pulled out the bundle of items wrapped in the fuzzy white scarf. Kimmi-Ka emotionlessly stared at the item bundle before she plopped her butt on the ground and unwrapped the scarf from the items.

Kimmi-Ka allowed The Eye of Revelation and the pale golden mask to drop onto her fuzzy tendril-like tails as she held the scarf up to the ceiling. Kimmi-Ka sloppily wrapped the scarf around her neck a single time, leaving most of the scarf sprawled on the floor. Kimmi-Ka picked up the mask and placed it on her face, but the mask easily slipped off her face given the size difference between it and her face.

Kimmi-Ka moved on from the mask and picked up The Eye of Revelation. She peered through The Eye of Revelation's lens and noticed some numbers and words appear in the lens when she pointed at things. Kimmi-Ka looked through the lens at the room's door and an RPG-style status menu appeared on the lens: showing the door's name, HP, Defence, and that it was made by the Zelkio Empire's Workshop Division. Kimmi-Ka continued to look at things through The Eye of Revelation's lens as the door to the room opened.

"I can't believe I said Minia when I meant to say Nola would be taking them to the concert happening this year, not the one in ten years...," Chronia grumbled as she rolled around on Zalroth kitsune tails and then groaned face first into one of Zalroth's tails.

"But it was pretty funny how Kusana and Snow reacted when they realized they'd get to attend another one in the future," Zalroth remarked as he walked into the room. Kimmi-Ka gazed up at Zalroth before immediately placing The Eye of Revelation in front of her face.

"Wah," Kimmi-Ka exclaimed excitedly as she saw Zalroth's RPG-styled status, although she was mostly interested in why all the texts were in an ancient language. Zalroth noticed Kimmi-Ka was looking at him through The Eye of Revelation's lens before he crouched down and looked at it.

"Seems someone messed with the default language for people, but that's not a problem for you now is it?" Zalroth cheerfully said as he ruffled Kimmi-Ka's hair. Kimmi-Ka smiled cheerfully and nodded while waving The Eye of Revelation around. Kimmi-Ka continued to cutely mumble like a gerbil as Zalroth sat on the floor in front of her and partially pulled The Crescent Moon Staff out from his tails.

"Could you repeat that?" Zalroth asked as he held onto The Crescent Moon Staff. Kimmi-Ka mumbled off again, causing Zalroth to amusedly place his chin on his free hand.

"Even if it's your birthday in three days, I don't think your mother would let me take you to the Reyutetsuno Realm for any conceivable reason," Zalroth remarked. Kimmi-Ka pouted and hung her head in defeat. Zalroth meekly looked to the side as Kimmi-Ka continued to pout and sulk until Zalroth eventually caved.

"Alright... let's go ask Lumina if you can then," Zalroth uttered as Kimmi-Ka sprung to her feet and smugly skipped to the room's exit with her scarf trailing behind her. Zalroth half-heartedly shook his head and hopped onto his feet before Chronia rested her chin on Zalroth's shoulder.

"Is it wrong for me to say Kimmi-Ka gives me the chills with how unchildlike she acts?" Chronia whispered. Zalroth rubbed his forehead while remarking it be weirder if Kimmi-Ka wasn't smart given Lumios is one of her parents.

"Wait... wasn't The Eye of Revelations meant to be one of her birthday presents?" Zalroth uttered as he watched Kimmi-Ka's scarf slinking around the doorframe.
