Chapter 127: The Springs Are Filled With Many... "Wonders"

In Delver's Spring's cathedral library, melted cheese-covered pasta littered every inch of the bottom floor of the cathedral. Lumios floated (around the height of the second floor of the cathedral) over the sea of cheese and macaroni whilst he had a puzzled look on his face.

A little behind Lumios, a bandit climbed onto of a marble long double-sided bookcase with a comically large knife in his hand. The bandit readied his blade and lunged at Luminos; however, a magigold spear shot down from above and pierced straight through the top of the bandit's skull with an odd squelching noise as a little bit of liquid cheese dripped out from under the bandit's head.

Lumios raised his arm out to his side and grabbed the base of the magigold spear as it swung past him. The bandit's body swung forward, and his head slipped free from the spear's blade. The bandit's body slapped against the ground with a splat as he and his clothes turned into melted cheese-covered pasta.

"How am I supposed to fight seriously against these things?" Lumios uttered as he swiped his magigold spear to fling the liquid cheese remnants off the spear's blade. Destiny giddily giggled as she leant her arms on the railing of the cathedral's second floor and had her gaze fixed solely on Lumios.

"Isn't he so cool?" Destiny uttered mindlessly with an obnoxiously rhetorical tone. Kara frowned and grumbled to herself.

"I could've done it way faster...," Kara murmured as she sat on a floating rocking dragon toy made of red qi.

"Well, you wouldn't have been caught off guard by the bandits turning into pasta, but your time wouldn't be faster by much, fuzzball," Tokubaiyashi (in humanoid form) remarked as he, Prima and Yumi nibbled on some pasta. Kara huffed as a circle-rainbow-coloured portal (Dimensional Portals) opened up next to the group followed by Nola, Anthurium and Iris exiting from it.

"It's such a drag warping in here nothing's ever in the place they used to be...," Nola whined as she created a portal on both sides of her before a pasta bandit which jumped at Nola went in one portal and out the other. The bandit smashed straight through a window and plummeted into the sky-like void below. Nola closed all three of the portals as she rubbed her temples with her thumbs. Nola's Radiant Beacon lightly bopped her on the shoulder as it floated beside her, causing Nola to open her eyes and notice Destiny and the others.

"Oh, fancy... warping... into you lot," Nola remarked with an obviously forced surprised tone.

"But you appeared right next to us, though?" Destiny uttered aloud puzzledly.

"Absolutely...," Nola uttered as she noticed Kara staring at her. Kara narrowed her eyes at Nola, causing Nola to roll her eyes. Nola mentally sighed as she closed her eyes to avoid Kara's gaze.

"Alright-alright, I was testing out one of Radiant Beacon's abilities, okay?". Destiny's eyes lit as she instantly appeared in front of Nola with a pale pink flash.

"What were you te-" Destiny managed to before a loud rough band startled her and, a split second later, made her sub-consciously teleport herself to Lumios. Destiny ducked under Lumios' cloak, and she quivered as she popped her head out next to Lumios' head.

"Aren't you overreacting?" Lumios asked.

Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.

"Nu-uh! I saw the thing that made the noise!" Destiny whispered, causing Lumios to raise an eyebrow

"How?" Lumios asked calmly. Destiny remained silent as she quivered. Lumios pondered why Destiny was in the state she was in before he realized she had taken a second to warp from her previous location to him.

"I see..., so she miss-teleported," Lumios uttered mentally, "So, what did you see?". Destiny remained silent before she exhaled pessimistically.

"Giant... fuzzy fist," Destiny whispered under her breath.

"Huh?" Lumios uttered before a large shadow loomed over the building. Nola widened her eyes from a mix of shock and disbelief before she spun around to look at Lumios and Destiny.

"Lumios, get over here!" Nola blurted out. Lumios quickly rocketed over to the group before Nola raised her hand into the air and conjured a Dimensional Portals portal above the group. Nola slammed the portal down on herself and the group to warp them out of the cathedral.

Above the cathedral, the thing casting the looming shadow over the cathedral fell towards the cathedral, but as it got closer its shadow rapidly shrank until MSC Chronia flopped onto the cathedral's roof like a freshly caught fish, random wobbling included.

"Heh, totally didn't mean to do that...," MSC Chronia remarked as she rolled down the roof of the cathedral.

Zalina let out an audible groan before she stopped walking causing Kusana to stop moving as well, as she floated behind Zalina.

"Is something the matter, Ego of Desire: Zalina?" Kusana asked as Zalina ruffled her kitsune tails. Zalina exhaustedly huffed and released her grip from her kitsune tails.

"I just remembered Minia mentioned Solus and Lumina wanted some sort of jungle gym and a magnifying glass for their birthday for their respective kids," Zalina murmured as she tapped her chin.

"So, do you intend on-?" Kusana managed to say before she spotted the smug grin on Zalina's face.

"Nope, I've already made the things. I'm just annoyed I can't remember where I left them, given this place can't remain the same for a second," Zalina remarked as she spotted the multi-time cube puzzle cube in the distance.

"Oh, there they are," Zalina uttered before she grabbed Kusana and the sleeping Snow with her kitsune tails. Zalina pulled her leg back before she lept into the air and jumped between the floating marble debris, between her and the multi-time cube puzzle cube.

Meanwhile, on the flying airship carrier's daycare, Minia led flat on the floor as she balanced a pale green genie lamp on her forehead whilst Kimmi-Ka and the other toddlers sat around her in a circle.

"Who'd have thought I'd be so apathetic when I finally received my divine weapon from Father... The Wisp of Fortune is what he said Mother called it," Minia murmured as she closed her eyes and huffed. Kimmi tilted her head and lightly poked Minia's face to get her attention. Minia opened one of her eyes to look at Kimmi and saw Kimmi was pointing at herself.

"Nah, it isn't you lot's fault... I'm just tired....". Minia gazed at Kimmi's unnervingly unconvinced expression. Minia sighed and picked up The Wisp of Fortune (the pale green genie lamp with glowing black vine-like engraving all over it and a white fluffy rope around the handle) off her forehead. Minia sat up before all the toddlers climbed onto Minia's lap.

"Fine... but you gotta promise not to tell anyone what I tell you, promise?" Minia pleaded. Kimmi gave Minia an unamused stare, causing Minia to half-heartedly snicker.

"Look, you can't blame me for forgetting your just a toddler given how similar your demeanour is to your father can you?". Kimmi crossed her arms and tapped a finger against one of them.

"Alright-alright, I'll stop stalling. I'm just worried Zalina won't remember the divine weapons she made for your cousin and y-". Minia quickly covered her mouth, causing Kimmi to raise an eyebrow. The two stared at each other before Minia deflatedly slumped her head down.

"If you promise to act surprised on your birthday, I'll grant you three wishes on your birthday instead of just one.". Kimmi nodded before looking away with a cocky smirk on her face, causing Minia to sigh again.
