Chapter 76: Preliminary Final

Chapter 76: Preliminary Final

Venkana and Terrorizer stood on either side of the arena stage whilst the coliseum was basked in the roars from the audience. Venkana pounded his gauntlets together and Terrorizer let out a low reverbed hum.

"Let the match begin..." Kikou said, with Venkana getting ready to fight while Terrorizer didn't have any response to Kikou's words.

"Fight!" Kiki excitedly exclaimed as she threw her arms into the air. Yellow chakra marks appeared on Venkana's forearms and the bottom half of his legs before he bolted for Terrorizer. Venkana sprinted for Terrorizer as a faint glimmer emanated from within his cloak. Venkana pulled his fist back and increased the intensity of his arm's chakra veins.

Venkana's fist collided with Terrorizer, as Terrorizer raised his arm, but didn't have much of an effect. Before Venkana could respond, Terrorizer's large kite-shaped arm-mounted purple crystal shield glowed before an energy blast erupted from it and blasted Venkana away.

Venkana spiralled through the air before landing back on the ground. Venkana raised his head before narrowly evading a punch from Terrorizer that had enough force that it created a shockwave. Terrorizer swung his fist again but was caught by Venkana with both his hands.

Venkana almost instantly buckled under the force of Terrorizer's punch. Venkana managed to divert Terrorizer's fist to the right before he jumped to the left. Terrorizer's fist rocketed into the arena ground and Venkana was sent flying again by the shockwave generated by the Terrorizer's punch. Terrorizer spun around and lunged at Venkana; Venkana activated his Full Chakra Mode right before he and Terrorizer's fists collided.

The combatants launched themselves in opposite directions and the second they landed on the ground they unleashed a torrent of attacks at each other as they raced around the arena stage. Whilst a surge of shockwaves raced past the announcer booth, Zuno stared down at the spot Terrorizer had struck and glared at the small cracks.

"Perhaps, that was why the God of Time... I mean Chronia didn't want anyone doing anything until the designated time," Zuno muttered before his eyes widened when Venkana crashed, back first, into the arena ground with a little bit of sap splurting out his mouth.

Terrorizer pulled his arm as the shine of his crystal-arm shield before it funnelled into his fist. Venkana painedly sat up as Terrorizer descended upon him and hurled his powered-up punch at Venkana. The fist collided with something, followed by a large purple explosion that obscured the arena in a cloud of dust and made the audience go silent.

The dust swiftly settled the audience was left in awe. Venkana slowly raised his head and was left in shock as Zuno, stood in front of him with his armour in its full body mode, while holding Terrorizer's fist in his palm. The Terrorizer, while a large purple ring glowed from within his hood, glared at Zuno as he felt the Terrorizer continue to push against his hand.

"This match is over; stand down," Zuno said stoically before pushing Terrorizer away. Terrorizer landed on the ground, with a crystally jingle, while staring down Venkana.

"It seems the tournament's esteemed guest has called an end to this match," Kiki stated over the speakers with Kikou agreeing with her.

"And based on how the fight was going the most likely victor would have been the terrorizer," Kikou mentioned. Upon hearing he had been deemed the victor Terrorizer turned away and walked off.

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

"Ow-ow-ow..., that guy sure packs a punch; I could've sworn he was mainly a magic fighter given the amount of mana that was coming out of his body," Venkana remarked as he struggled to his feet before walking off. Zuno sighed before light-dashing up to the announcer's booth. Chronia wiped her head as she rolled around in her sleep

Kiki disappointedly sighed and rested her head on the desk as Zuno reappeared and transformed his amour back into its casual mode. Kiki complained to herself she wished the preliminary matches would've lasted longer making Kikou roll his eyes while tapping his mic. Chronia suddenly awoke in a sweat and darted her head around.

"And with that, that brings the preliminary rounds of the Maxicannion Tournament to a close and...," Kikou managed to say before Chronia jumped onto the table next to Kikou and whispered into his ear. Kikou nodded his head before turning back to his mic.

"There will be an hour del- break before the quarter-final to... allow for the modification of the arena; so it would be appreciated if the audience could vacate the stands for the designated time," Kikou stated as Chronia continued to whisper into his ear. The audience murmured amongst themselves as they slowly vacated the stands in an orderly manner.

"Huh... didn't expect them all to leave without any resistance," Chronia remarked before she jumped onto Zalroth's chest. Chronia firmly grabbed Zalroth's shoulder and violently shook him. As she continued to shake Zalroth, Chronia looked over at Zuno.

"Could you tell the others that stage two of the plan is going to go into effect a lot sooner than expected?" Chronia pleaded before returning her focus to the sleeping Zalroth and increasing the ferocity of her arm shakes. Zuno scratched his head while mentally remarking how familiar the scene in front of him was aside from the roles being reversed for him and Callie.

"Yo! Wake up, the future changed!" Chronia yelled as the clock hands of her eyes drastically spiralled clockwise. Eventually, Zalroth eventually opened one of his eyes and yawned whilst he sat up.

"Yeah-yeah... I'll make the noise... barrier," Zalroth muttered as he placed his hand on the ground and created/infused the entire coliseum with a magic barrier applied with a noise cancelling ward, plus a dome-shaped noise cancelling magic shield over the top of the coliseum.

"Phew...," Chronia muttered right before a large magic explosion erupted behind her and the volume of the explosion snapped Zalroth awake; meanwhile, Lola and co were happily buying treats while being none the wiser to what was taking place in the coliseum, well that the events were happening sooner than when Chronia had told them they would.

Meanwhile, in the clubroom of the flying airship carrier, Kara angrily glared at the TV, as it was showing adverts, while Destiny, along with all the other children, confusedly stared at the TV and Providence amusedly watched the screen.

"Heh, I didn't expect Zuzu to interfere with the fight... though if he hadn't the age rating would have gone way up," Callie remarked as she layed on her back and watched the TV. Providence nodded his head.

"Indeed, although this isn't entirely uncommon for him," Providence remarked.

"Are you referring to the day you met us?" Callie asked with Providence nodding his head at Callie's question.

"Indeed, but if I recall correctly you two were a lot more unruly when you were younger," Providence remarked. Callie amusedly rolled her eyes and yawned.

"You're one to talk, Mr Auction Crasher," Callie snarked with Providence lightly chuckling and lightly scratching the magic mark on his face. Kara angrily sat on her book and slowly floated into the air.

"Tokui, one requires your presence!" Kara yelled with Tokubaiyashi swiftly standing up as a bundle of sleeping Hikas clung to his body.

"No I will not take you to the tournament in person," Tokubaiyashi stated with Kara angrily booing him. Destiny tapped Providence on the arm until he looked over at her.

"Father, can't you use your starlight thingy to show what's going on at the tournament since Magi Zulcrestus is there?" Destiny asked before all the kids gathered around Providence. Providence lazily rolled his eyes as he raised his right hand and conjured a starlight construct. He flicked the starlight constructed over to the TV followed by the construct replicating the shape of the TV before the construct's screen lit up.
