Kurai rocked her guitar pick against her guitar's metalic strings, shredding a violent guitar solo as she unleashed a torrent of various emerald green mana music notes from her guitar. As she continued aggressively strumming and unleashing various mana music notes; small sparks of purple energy shot out from her fingers and her necklace with the crackling briefly startling her.
"Wha the... I just got this thing tuned," Kurai grumbled as she briefly continued her solo before she hit a wrong note. As her face turned slightly red, Kurai froze up before shyly snickering to herself but upon glancing at her hand any amusement she once had faded away. She widened her eyes in shock as she felt the tingling sensation of the purple energy pulsing through her arm. She felt the functionality in her hand regress to mildly twitching as a pale purple hue crawled up her left arm.
"Isn't this- erk.". Kurai's entire arm clammed up and she dropped her guitar, making her friends stop playing their instruments and rush over to Kurai. Kurai swung her unaffected arm towards her friends to halt their approach before collapsing to her knees and eventually to her side. The sea of Kurai fans went silent as they watched Kurai writhe on stage like a worm. One of Kurai's friends took a single step forward before Kurai snapped at them with a piercing glare.
"Don't get any closer!" Kurai shrieked as she clung to her miscoloured arm. Her friends asked what they should do and Kurai explained they should find an onsight medic or someone with light or holy magic. The other band members worriedly glanced at each other before agreeing to Kurai's suggestion and hurried off stage, saying they wouldn't take long. Kurai sighed defeatedly while complaining she couldn't believe she got infected with angorthite again.
"Kurai... the necklace!" a distant female voice uttered with a whirly effect. The familiar voice caught Kurai's attention, pushing her to pull herself upright and search for the voice's origin. She turned to the sea of fans before eventually spotting Lola clinging to one of the larger mana music notes as it rapidly spun through the air and toward the stage.
"It's in the necklace!" Lola exclaimed, her message being slightly distorted from her rapid spinning. Kurai's expression shifted to surprise before she reached to grab her necklace only for it to zap her hand and turn her unaffected hand's fingertips a pale purple. Lola crashed the mana crotchet music note into the stage, popping it and briefly coating Lola in an emerald green glow. Lola zipped over to Kurai, moving faster than normal and narrowly overshot the intended location. Lola dug her feet into the floor to bring her momentum to a crawl but she was too successful in doing so, leading her to fall like a sack of potatoes into her tails which dived in front of her to break her fall.
"Are you ok, Lola?" Kurai asked worriedly. Lola groaned into her tails with pure frustration before she sprung to her feet.
"I should be asking you that question! Also, take off the necklace," Lola said with a brattily bossy tone.
"I tried but it zapped my hand; so, now both of them are useless," Kurai explained as the pale purple skin colouration crept up Kurai's right arm, making both her hands match. Lola nervously paced around Kurai, making Kurai snicker amusedly at Lola's worry as the infection slowed down.
"You don't need to worry, Lola. It's actually not the first time I've been infected," Kurai explained, making Lola stop her circling at turn to Kurai in shock.
"Wah?". Kurai snickered again.
"Yeah... when I was younger I got in over my head when trying to impress a certain battle-loving guy... but only ended up being a hindrance for the most part, especially when I got myself turned into a heathian," Kurai explained cheekily before she broke into awkward giggling; however, her giggling died down upon noticing Lola with her head hung low.
"Lola...?". Lola glared at her feet as the thought of her potentially becoming a hindrance to Zalroth in a similar way to Kurai of the past plagued her mind. Lola balled up her fists, shaking in place as parts of her fur/hair briefly flickered a glowing lime green. Kurai watched Lola become encased by a thin pale coating of light, normal, and dark green qi, tilting her head in confusion when the qi bursted off Lola. Lola swung her head up, briefly startling Kurai and making her almost fall backwards, and slapped her face with enough vigour to force her hair/fur to their original colouration.
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
"No, today Lola will be the one to save the day!" Lola exclaimed as she bounced on the spot. Kurai gave Lola a puzzled stare before closing her eyes and contently smirking.
"Ok then... do enlighten me how do you intend to save my performance?" Kurai asked with playful amusement oozing from her voice. Lola lostly looked at Kurai, briefly gazing at the sea of silent Kurai fans, as she registered the necessity to get the concert back on track if she wanted to fully help Kurai. Lola tapped her chin as she racked her brain on what to do before a light bulb briefly materialised above her head.
"You must be thinking hard," Kurai remarked cheekily. Lola poutfully puffed up her cheeks at Kurai's teasing, only eliciting an even more cheeky grin from Kurai. As she pouted, Lola took notice of Kurai's arms and the pale purple colouration slowly beginning to recede down Kurai's arms.
"Mmm...," Lola mumbled as she shook her head like a rattle from racking her brain over how to help Kurai. Lola abruptly crouched and groaned into her tails from receiving no help from her brain as grinding screeching screamed from her head.
"... Papa. What should Lola do?" Lola whimpered, her voice meek enough that, despite being right next to Lola, Kurai could barely hear her muffled voice. Kurai lightly itched her cheek before a small shock jolted between her finger and face. Kurai mentally groaned as she moved her hand from her pale purple cheek.
"But isn't your mother the planmaker?" Kurai asked cheekily. Lola raised her face from her tails and met Kurai's eyes before immediately adverting hers.
"Yeah... but Papa normally does on-the-spot plans while Mama does the long-thought-out ones," Lola mumbled as she lightly booped her fist against the stage.
"I guess you're right... but even he'd probably be stumped in this situation without anything infused with light or holy elemental magic," Kurai explained nonchalantly. Lola paused her fist before she struck the floor as a light swirled in her eyes. Lola began to shake before slowly rising to her feet with an enlightened grin on her face.
"Lola's got it!". Lola's sudden cheerful outburst caught Kurai's attention.
"Got what?" Kurai uttered with a hint of surprise in her voice. Lola excitedly flailed her arm in the vague direction of the elevated private booth Kusana and the others were in.
"I just remembered Papa gave Scarlett some light gauntlet thingies... oh and also Snow also got a purifying azu ability," Lola exclaimed excitedly before she bounced over to the side of the stage and began signalling to her niece.
From the private booth, Kusana, Scarlett and Snow watched Lola gesturing and making various bizarre poses. The trio inspected Lola's various poses while trying to decode their combined meaning.
"Is it a code?" Scarlett uttered perplexedly as steam seeped from her ears. Snow stared at the dancing Lola before slowly drifting her vision to Kusana.
"Do... you know what she's trying to tell us?" Snow uttered. Kusana placed her chin on her clasped hands before lowering her gaze.
"Not a clue, but she clearly wants Kusana, Sister of Snow, and Snow to come over," Kusana explained while hoving herself off the ground.
"Oh...," Snow uttered. Kusana shook her head to the side, signalling for Snow and Scarlett to hop on her back.
Lola continued to wave to Kusana as she effortlessly floated towards the stage with the kijin sisters on her back. She hovered before Lola as the sisters dropped onto the stage with Lola explaining why she called them over.
"Ok, so basically we'll use the Sister of Snow's gauntlets to stop the angorthite from spreading and then Snow will use her Purifying Fission to heal Kurai," Kusana stated with Scarlett nodding sternly and intently while Snow was giddily squealing at being in close proximity to Kurai.
"Yep-o," Lola replied as Scarlett briefly went into autopilot from Kusana using too many technical words. Kusana tapped Scarlett on the face to snap her back to reality.
"Oh you mean these?" Scarlett asked puzzledly as she raised her arms donning the silver bracelets. The bracelets shimmered as they stretched over Scarlett's forearms/arms and morphed into the gauntlets with golden Vs on the back of them. Lola nodded before the trio hurried over to Kurai while Zinvalia gave a passing glance at them as she dodged Kai's Disruptive Pulse mana-covered punch.
