Chapter 133.5

Chapter 133.5

Meanwhile, a desolate hum crawled across the barren and lifeless wasteland of colourless sand under the pitch black sky with the mirage of massive cyan crystalline tree roots sprawled out across the sky. The hum reigned strong through the land below everything, with it remaining close and far no matter where in the realm you reside.

A faint whistle broke through the realm spanning hum, originating from the mountain wide endlessly tall spire of dark azure blue-coloured metalic crystal filled with rainbow-coloured stars.

A second later, the whistling seized in time with the ring-shaped tsunami high wave of sand erupting near the aether monument. The surge of sand raced across the landscape as a distorted, ghastly howl echoed from the epicentre of the surging sand.

A lanky sixteen-foot-tall humanoid creature made of cyan crystals with six large symmetrical curved horns protruding from its head and wearing a pitch black feathery knee-low kilt-like piece of clothing around its waist stood at the centre of the sand-lanching, distorted monstrous howl. The crystalline humanoid lowered its featureless head as the leaves of the tree root-like aether wing on its back constantly fell off before regrowing, and it stared at a smug Zalroth. The creature stared at Zalroth as the football-sized ball of light in its chest shone brightly.

"Is screaming to the lorde really necessary, Ester?" Zalroth asked as he spun one of his arms around to click his shoulder.

"Ela has asked one to do it, and given Ela is ranked the highest concept so, one must follow," Ester said with a male voice which was accompanied by a wavey reverb. Zalroth amusedly scoffed and placed his fists on his hips.

"Well, she is the golden one, so her getting special treatment is expected isn't it," Zalroth remarked snarkily.

"One would say it is less of a golden child situation, but it's easier to just let you think of it like that," Ester stated. Zalroth rolled his eyes before slamming his fist on his chest and forcefully coughing.

"Gah... yeah. That's for the best; the last thing I need is you filling my head with more aether using outer-worldly knowledge.".

"At least you understand. Now one will take its leave to give you two some space," Ester stated calmly. Ester's body vibrated before he phased out of existence with a low hum. Zalroth amusedly sighed as the mirage of crystalline roots in the sky disappeared, and the sky shifted to a teal and lime colour.

The sky trembled as geysers of water poured from the sky and crashed onto the sandy ground far off in the distance before forming into a glistening ocean. Zalroth peered down at his feet as the colourless sand shifted to a soothing yellow and in combination with the glistening ocean turned the ground beneath his feet into a tropical shore. Zalroth repeatedly blinked and stared off into the distance to see the countless sky-high waterfalls and multiple giant grandfather clock pendulums protruding out from the ocean.

"Odd... this is certainly Chronia's Shinsokuko Realm... but for it to be here when we're both in the Reyute-.".

"Zaaallroootth~," Chronia murmured from someone nearby with a spicotic tone. Zalroth widened his eyes slightly at hearing the tone in Chronia's voice before he half-heartedly sighed.

"And that's why... alright; looks like we're going to be here a while," Zalroth uttered. Zalroth balled up his fist and flexed back his shoulders before he turned towards the rainforest where the predatory eyes of Chronia stared straight into his soul. A sadistic ear-to-ear grin formed on Chronia's face before she lept out from the bush she was hiding in; Chronia landed right in front of Zalroth and spun around to show him her back.

Zalroth glanced down at the topless Chronia's back and watched as she struggled to scratch her back while raising her back towards Zalroth. Zalroth sighed in relief and placed a hand on Chronia's shoulder blade, causing Chronia to bite her bottom lip.

"Why are you so weird?" Zalroth asked before he scratched Chronia on the back. Chronia let out a relieved moan before she fell forward and faceplanted into the sand. Chronia flattened out on the beach shore as her body from the neck down became covered in glowing short and fuzzy pale lime and teal fur.

Zalroth crouched down crouched and continued to scratch Chronia's shoulder blades, much to Chronia's pleasure. The fur around Chronia's shoulder blades jostled before three furred arms with cat paws for hands sprouted out from each of her shoulder blade areas, and three large fluffy tails sprouted from the base of her spine.

"Better?". Chronia smirked and rolled onto her back; she placed her hands on her chest and shot Zalroth a coy smirk.

"Oh, it's been ages since I had one of those... shame the company went out of business," Chronia remarked jokingly.

"I wouldn't say it went out of business. We just outlived it. Besides, you can still buy the chocolate," Zalroth stated. Chronia disappointedly groaned and rolled her eyes at Zalroth.

"It's not the same, and it tastes different too.". Zalroth placed a hand on his head and itched the inside of one of his ears. Chronia placed a hand on the sand next to her and repeatedly patted the spot in an attempt to goad Zalroth to lie next to her. Zalroth spun around and closed his eyes before he made himself fall backwards onto his back.

"Oh no, I've fallen over," Zalroth said with a fake serious tone before Chronia flopped on top of Zalroth. Chronia led over Zalroth's chest at a ninety-degree angle as she twiddled her thumbs. Chronia contently giggled and rested her head on Zalroth's chest as a mix of solemnness and acceptance filled her face.
