Chapter 21: Village Saviours Part 1

Zulcrestus pierced through the sky at breakneck speeds, managing to displace the air so that it wasn't able to hit Prima or Yumi while manoeuvring around any flying creatures that got in his way. Prima had her hands over her eyes as her super long hair was sporadically swayed in the wind, Yumi's long gelatin slime hair was also swaying around. Yumi anxiously twiddled her index fingers together as she struggled to stop giggling, to the point her body had shifted to a slightly redder pink.

"Are you feeling alright, Lil sis?" Prima asked while getting a little giddy saying Lil sis. Yumi freaked out as she tried to cover her face, but slowly realised her entire body was displaying how she was feeling, making her slowly lower her arms and embarrassingly giggled.

"Y-yeah, Yumi is fine?" Yumi replied with a slightly unnerved tone. Prima placed a hand on her chin and was struggling to think of a reason why Yumi had changed colour, to the point her face started to turn red as well, from holding her breath.

"Maybe... you're having motion sickness?" Prima said while shrugging. Yumi put her hands together and slowly nodded her head. Zulcrestus glanced over at the two and sighed in astonishment, even remarking to himself how similar the two of them act like Callie.

"Slimes and sliminoids are very susceptible to wind, so I'd recommend you try to decrease your surface area.". Zulcrestus recommended Yumi should do something about her hair. Yumi placed her hands on her cheeks while looking longingly at Zulcrestus.

"Like this?" Yumi asked. Zulcrestus spun around while maintaining his speed and looked at Yumi's new hairstyle. Yumi had put her long hair into two large hair buns, slightly larger than her head, with flower-shaped extrusions on the ends.

"I suppose," Zulcrestus replied before turning back around. Yumi frowned and sighed at Zulcrestus' response. Yumi shifted over to the upset Yumi and put her arm around her.

"Don't be so glum, little sis. Mama told me, whenever he says that it means he actually likes it." Prima whispered to Yumi making her smile.

Meanwhile, rays of light crept through the gaps in the dimly lit throne room. A man with fair skin, spikey pure white hair and a golden hook-shaped ahoge. He was sitting inside a rainbow-coloured magic circle at the top of the small staircase that lead to three thrones. The man opened his eyes, the left being a golden colour, the right being a pure glowing white pupil with the part of his eyes that would be white slowly fading through every colour and his pupils were shaped like ten pointed stars.

The man looked at his right arm, which was surrounded by black bandages with glowing rainbow-coloured text on it, and sighed before placing his right hand over his right eye, which had a pale rainbow-coloured flame-shaped mark around it. His hand twitched as he tried to move his hand away but eventually gave in and started to scratch the glowing mark.

The entrance to the throne room suddenly swung open and a short silhouette in a dress opened the door. The light illuminated the room showing the man was wearing a black shirt, trousers and white shoes.

"Father, is it true you're summoning the magistrates to the capital?" a girly kid voice cheerfully asked. The man slowly stood up and nodded his head, making cracking noises each time he moved his head.

"That is correct, Something has come to my attention and I've decided to summon them." the man explained before turning around and picking up the slightly transparent white, cape-like, robe from the middle throne. As the man was putting the robe on, a heavily golden armoured Zelkio Royal Guard entered the room and placed his fist on his chest.

"Emperor Providence, Magistrate Echo and Magistrate Marock have just arrived, sir." The Guard stated while the girl standing next to them was playing with the three red fabrics that hung from the back of their armour.

"Thank you for informing me know. Let them know, I'll call for them when the others have arrived." Providence instructed. The Guard bowed before leaving, with the girl gleefully skipping behind them. Providence raised his left hand before slashing it horizontally and a violent energy blast stormed through the throne room and instantly opened all the large curtains.

In the village of Humforth, villagers frantically ran for their lives as the sounds of explosions littered the area. A group of eight heavily armed bandits, with the eight of them throwing red stones that exploded when they hit something.

"Where's everyone going the party's right here?!" one of the bandits rhetorically asked while continuing to throw blast stones at buildings. At the centre of the eight, a short individual in a wizard robe could be seen tightly grasping a staff in their hands, with a sombre frown on their face. A little girl held onto her mother's hand as the two of them ran away from the bandits' relentless and explosive assault. A blast stone collided with the ground close to the two before exploding and knocking the two onto the ground.

One of the bandits noticed the mother and child on the ground. He pulled his hand back and hurled a blast stone at them, before turning away from the two and throwing another blast stone through a window. The child's mother frantically shielded them as the blast stone drew closer to them. After a few painfully gruelling seconds the mother slowly opened her eyes, with her child quivering in her arms, and turned to look in the direction of the blast stone the bandit threw, only to see it had stopped mid-air with a teal glow around it. The blast stone rock rocketed back towards the unsuspecting bandit and struck him in the side. The blast rock exploded and the resulting chain explosion completely singed his clothes before he collapsed to the ground. All the bandits and the short wizard spun to look at the defeated bandit before looking up at the sky when they heard a voice.

"How unsightly." Zulcrestus voiced with a disgusted tone, as his aura radiant white aura, which faded into pink at the very ends, flared up. The short wizard took a step back before she and Zulcrestus made eye contact. The intensity of Zulcrestus' aura rapidly went down, he looked down at the mother and child.

"I'll assist the villagers, you two deal with the bandits, without lethal force, but leave the wizard unharmed," Zulcrestus ordered. Prima and Yumi nodded before the teal glow around their bodies faded and they dropped to the ground. Prima and Yumi raced over to the bandits, while Zulcrestus floated down to the mother and daughter.

"Are you able to stand?". The mother said they could before she stood up with her passed-out daughter in her arms. As the mother went to leave Zulcrestus told her to wait, making her stop in her tracks and turn back around. Zulcrestus raised one of his hands over the daughter's grazed knee. A small magical aurora ring circled around the kid's knee and the graze slowly faded away. The mother profusely thank Zulcrestus before she hurried off. Zulcrestus watched the mother until he was sure she was out of the bandits' range before turning in the direction of a call for help and flying over. The bandits pulled their weapons out of their sheaves and all nervously smirked.

"It's just our luck that the dog of the empire had to show up here of all places." one of the bandits complained.

"Let's just hope the client's escape plan will work. Brat use your reinforcement ability!" the bandit leader yelled, making the short wizard flinch. The wizard raised their staff and the staff's large gem sphere flashed. All of the bandits were surrounded by an orange-yellow glow and four of the bandits sprinted at Prima and Yumi, with the bandit leader and the two other bandits staying by the kid wizard.

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

"Seeing as you haven't been in a fight before, you need to disarm the baddies and then knock them out," Prima recommended. Yumi nodded before dodging out of the way of a sword slash from a bandit while unintentionally punching them in the face and launching them into a lamp post. The bandit slumped to the ground in a dazed state. Yumi nervously looked over at Prima, thinking she'd messed up since she hadn't disarmed the bandit first but was greeted by Prima giving her a thumbs up.

A bandit swung his mace at Prima's head, while Yumi tried to warn her, but the moment the mace head was inches away from her head the mace head instantly evaporated causing the bandit to lose their balance. Prima stuck her foot out and tripped the bandit over, knocking the bandit out the moment they faceplanted the floor. The bandit leader's face palmed as he watched Prima shoot highly concentrated fire beams through the two other bandits' weapons before they were knocked out by Yumi bashing them into each other.

"I know they're kids, and all, but there's a limit to how much someone can intentionally suck." The bandit leader remarked. He ordered the two other bandits to not hold back as he grabbed the battle axe from his back, the two remaining bandits nodded before pulling their swords out of their sheaves. The bandits incased their weapons in magic, lightning around the leader's battle axe and water around the other two's swords, before sprinting at Prima and Yumi.

The bandit leader and one of the water sword bandits ganged up on Prima and hurled a flurry of attacks at her, with her frantically trying to avoid their attacks and particularly the water sword. Prima fired focused fire beams, from her fingers, at the joints of the bandits' weapons but was blocked by a wall of water, created from the water sword. The collision instantly caused the water to evaporate and burst into a cloud of steam.

The bandit leader slammed his battle axe into the spot he last saw Prima but was surprised when the battle-axe hit the ground. The sword bandit, whose sword was no longer covered in water magic, sliced the steam away and the bandits realised she was gone. They heard a giggle and darted their head upwards to see a rapidly descending Prima as she started to condense flame magic around her right fist to the point the flames started to glow a bright white.

"Flash Fist..." Prima yelled as she nose-dived towards the bandits. The bandit leader swung his battle axe at Prima. The moment the axe blade was inches away from Prima's face, she smugly grinned. She swung her left arm out to her side and shot out a small burst of flames that propelled her out of the way of the axe blade and straight at the sword-wielding bandit. The sword-wielding bandit frantically spun their sword into a defensive position while trying to incase their sword in water magic, as Prima pulled her glowing fist back.

"...Strike!". Prima hurled her fist straight into the sword instantly evaporating the sword's blade and the water the moment her fist touched them. A jet of steam crashed into the sword-wielding bandit and launched him across the street and into the same lamp post that the bandit Yumi first knocked out had crashed into.

"For the love of... Johns get over here and help-" the bandit leader said as he turned his head to his last remaining ally, only to see that he had been knocked out and Yumi was nibbling on the guy's sword.

"Flash Fist...". The bandit leader's eyes widened before he spun around to Prima as she concentrated fire magic around both her hand, while she was floating mid-air. The bandit leader raised his battle axe and place it in a defence position, right before Prima began to attack again.

"...Barrage!". Prima unleashes a flurry of Flash Fists at the bandit leader's axe head. The ferocity and force of her attacks started to push the bandit leader back. The bandit leader took a step back in an attempt to regain his footing but tripped over something making him stagger backwards, and out of the range of Prima's short kid arms. Prima disappointedly frowned as she stopped her punches but noticed a blast stone flying upwards in front of her face. She smirked before swing kicking the fire gem at the bandit leader.

The bandit leader's face showed a mix of surprise and shock before he haphazardly tossed his battle axe at the blast stone. The Battleaxe collided with the blast stone making it explode instantly and thanks to the added power from the battle-axe's lightning magic created an even stronger explosion that sent the bandit leader flying. Prima landed on the ground and proudly put her hands on her hip with a smug look on her face. She suddenly looked over at Yumi and frantically ran over to her before taking the slightly dissolved sword out of her mouth.

"Bad Yumi, you can't go putting other people's stuff in your mouth, you don't know where it's been and it might be poisonous, or something like that.". Yumi blankly stared up at Prima as she slowly placed the sword on the group.

"Compassionate, big... sis.". The sheer mention of big sis coming out of Yumi's mouth made an even smugger grin adorn Prima's face.

"Of course I am, I can't have my little sis hurting herself, now can I." Prima smugly announced as she wagged her finger, which Yumi intently watched sway from side to side. The injured bandit leader slowly staggered to his feet and stared daggers at the back of Prima's head. He picked up his damaged battle axe and sprinted at the distracted duo. However, after only taking a few steps he felt a strong murderous energy right next to him. He tried to turn his head to look at whatever was generating the energy but was flicked in the face by Zulcrestus. The bandit leader hurtled through the air before he landed next to the kid wizard.

"Cool," Yumi said as she looked around Prima. Prima confusedly turned around and noticed Zulcrestus.

"You're back! Has everyone been evacuated?". Zulcrestus nodded his head. Zulcrestus lifted his right hand and generated a cloud of pitch-black metal particles above his hand. The black cloud quickly scattered and flew over to the unconscious bandits before wrapping around their wrists and ankles. The metal clouds all condensed and formed into handcuffs. The kid wizard, with a worried look on their face, watched as the metal cloud around the bandit leader turned into handcuffs.

"Being in possession of a grade A or higher weapon is a felony, so I suggest you hand it over," Zulcrestus said to the wizard while extending his hand out to them. The kid wizard somberly looked down at the ground as the grip they had on the staff weakened. Zulcrestus sighed and started to walk over to the kid wizard.

"What are you waiting for shoot him!" the bandit leader shouted to the kid.

"B-bu...herrk.". The kid tried to say something but a purple shock coursed around the kid's neck, making the kid grit their teeth and the shock only stopped once the kid gave up on trying to talk. The kid let out a feeble apology to Zulcrestus as they raised their staff into the air and started to charge mana into their staff. Zulcrestus stopped walking and sighed with a more annoyed tone than usual.

"They just have to keep adding charges," Zulcrestus muttered under his breath, but the kid wizard still shuttered as if they heard what he said. The kid tightly grasped their staff as its gem began to shine brightly and shift to an orange-yellow colour.

As the gem's brightness reached its peak brightness, yellow lightning escaped from the staff's gem and struck the ground with a loud crackle. The girl pointed her staff straight at Zulcrestus with a painful look on her face. Purple energy began to circle around her neck again before she fired a massive energy beam at Zulcrestus. Although the beam was aimed at Zulcrestus it rapidly increased in size until it was spanning the entire street.

Yumi unbothered by the rapidly approaching attack stared blankly at the energy as Prima panically picked her up and flew, as fast as she could, to Zulcrestus, before ducking behind him.

Prima clung to Zulcrestus' leg, with Yumi between her and Zulcrestus' leg, as he lifted one of his hands. The energy careened through the ground before crashing head-on with Zulcrestus. The bandit leader laughed as the area around Zulcrestus was torn to pieces.

However, his laughing didn't last long as when the kid wizard fell to the floor in exhaustion the beam faded revealing a large pitch-black metal wall. The wall quickly crumbled away revealing the area behind it was completely unfazed.

"How-" the bandit leader managed to mumble before he was chopped in the neck by Zulcrestus, who'd suddenly appeared behind the bandit leader. Zulcrestus turned to face the kid wizard but before either of them said anything Zulcrestus suddenly grabbed her and jumped into the air; right before super fast and thin mana strings descended from the sky and sliced through the ground, with a red cloud of dust rising from the ground.

As the two moved through the air the kid wizard's hood came off their head revealing the kid to be a fair-skinned girl with dark white eyes, short deep pink hair and dark pink rabbit ears on her head. Zulcrestus landed next to Prima, who had her eyes closed and her hand over Yumi's eyes. Zulcrestus placed the rabbit girl next to Prima.

"Prima take the kid and go protect the villagers.". Prima nervously opened one of her eyes and nodded her head. Prima quickly wrapped her arms around the kid and Yumi's waist before flying off. Zulcrestus turned and stared up at a figure in a glowing maroon cloak as their ring-shaped glowing magenta eyes stared down Zulcrestus, from the top of a lamp post, with a grimacing grin.
