I didn’t waste much time and altered [Search: Imposter] to [Search: Paula]. Nothing came up and I feared for the worst. Boshi town wasn’t too far from Witchaven.
I gathered the ambient mana and undid the spatial lock Agnis had placed on my house.
It took a considerable amount of mana but I lifted my house with [Levitate].
No longer was the use of mana punished or difficult to use. Nesher had made me more proficient in the use of mana. It was like training with weights.
I flew with the house next to me toward the academy and also lifted my lab. It did destroy the whole wing but i stopped caring for this city. My only regret was that I couldn’t travel with the mythical beasts but I needed to know what happened to Paula and Paul.
My way got barred by a barrier. It was stronger than the barrier I was used to but it was less complex.
“The Misha are really regressing...” I shook my head and knocked out some crucial mana runes out of the barrier shattering it and creating a large hole.
I looked back once more as I flew southwest. The mythical beasts were waving at me. I didn’t give them a proper farewell...
The other Misha were panicking and none seemed to stop me from leaving.
“I can finally leave this place.”
I felt powerful again. Nothing could touch me unless it was a goddess. I had missed this feeling. Unfortunately, Agnis alluded to divine activity being responsible for the disappearance of Boshi town.
The Boshi plateau came into sight. It used to be a mountain with a city. That golden bitch levelled it when she came for me and it had turned into the plateau.
The plateau which was supposed to hold a town was a large light-corrupted hole.
My house and lab got placed nearby as I went to investigate.
The ambient mana had shifted toward light mana and it had corrupted anything alive. I covered my body in a thick layer of mana to protect myself and I looked down the hole and dropped a large ice cube down.
No sound.... this hole is deep.
I dove to the side as a light-corrupted boar charged at me. It missed and fell into the hole. It squealed as it fell to its porky demise.
[Search: Paula] came up with nothing again.
“No... they were supposed to live happily ever after...”
I walked around and reminisced. I had a shitty time here but I never wished everyone dead. A group of corrupted flowers drew my attention. They were mistflowers. Boshi town and near Witchaven are the only places they grow.
I balled my fist and clenched it. Can’t that bitch leave us alone? She’s a god, why does she continuously need to bother everyone else?
The mistflowers weren’t as fragrant or beautiful while being corrupted by light. They had a light golden sheen but that wasn’t my color.
I hopped on my fan and floated over to the Boshi mines. I got flashbacks of Raishin who used to mine here for gold from time to time as a 12-year-old. He was looking for gold in an iron mine. He wasn’t the smartest but he was sweet and funny.
A light corrupted miner got up and stumbled toward me. I incinerated it as he couldn’t be saved.
This content has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
Even the rocks were light-corrupted. Any iron mined here would be useless or extremely expensive as removing the corruption wouldn’t be cheap.
I sighed and left the mine. The quarry was up next. It had the same problems. This time I had flashbacks from Agnis who once tried to help and blew up a rock wall with a high-pressure water blast. It was then that I discovered that something was up with him as his water magic was too advanced for a 12-year-old. I didn’t know he was a mythical beast back then.
I went to the mistflower field at a nearby mountain pass. It should be at the edge of this corruption; they might have survived.
I exhaled deeply and tried to stay calm as this mistflower field had also been blasted. There was a small hole where this field used to be. This felt deliberate.
“Calm down Azu, that bitch is provoking you. I will lose a rematch. Just ignore this.”
There were more places I wanted to visit but I was sure that it would infuriate me more.
The way back to my house and lab was spent calming down. I walked instead of flying to give me more time to calm down.
The mythical beasts had only been stuck here for 5 years and hated the experience in this town. I did too but I lived here way longer. There were still some lingering attachments. I would never go back to live in Boshi town but visiting it once in a while wouldn’t be a problem.
That had been taken from me as the lives of many others but more importantly Paula and Paul.
Another [Search: Paula] came up with nothing. [Search: Imposter] did work and pointed north. I sighed and [Levitated my house and lab] and went to the country of my birth; North Hjuva. The Misha capital, Mildowa lies on the other side of the mountain range inside North Hjuva.
I would avoid it at all costs, however. I had enough of Misha. I will just become the stereotypical Misha and live alone in the woods or something.
Former Boshi town got left behind as I flew northwest. I was leaving a lot of places behind.
[Search: Imposter] pointed to a location between Mildowa and the northern elven forest.
The last time I had been to that forest was with Paula. We were chasing Imposter and she escaped us after killing a Misha.
Some hills appeared and I picked a random one to turn into my new residence. I spotted a village nearby which would be my destination for supply runs.
I picked a nice spot near a stream and a mini waterfall.
My fan swung to clear out some trees to make space for my house and lab.
“Nobody can find me here. There is peace, there is quiet and there is water.”
I splashed my face with water and tested it. Perfectly potable.
My head tilted as I took a look at my house and lab. I did a poor job and didn;t level the area properly and they were slanted.
2 hours was how long it took to clear out the area properly. It was as flat as I could get it.
“What will my plans be for now? Visit the village or connect my lab to my house? How about exploring the area? There is so much to do!”
It was an adventure but a safe adventure. Something that wouldn’t get me into trouble.
My first adventure was connecting my house with my lab. It wasn’t easy as I wasn’t a construction worker. The best I could do was bust down walls and connect the openings with a corridor made out of ice. I added an enchantment to it to make it sturdy and protect it from melting.
It was quite cold here but not cold enough to protect it from melting.
The next adventure was exploring the area. Every dangerous animal ran from me. It was a refreshing sight as this hardly happened in Nesher. The hill had some ores.
Mining wasn’t my specialty but they would be available when I needed some. A nearby grove had many useful herbs and weeds. Even mushrooms.
However, the fruits weren’t impressive, so I would have to rely on the nearby village for food.
The sun was setting so this would have to wait. The forest smell was refreshing and my stroll was calming and enjoyable.
So many things have happened since my return to Kaledon. It started well and then this happened. It wasn’t as bad as other things I had experienced and I would get over it.
I sighed as I entered my house and changed. I made some mistflower tea and relaxed. One last push. I just have to kill the Cockroach with the marbles Agnis gave me and my life is completely mine. No longer bound to duties and expectations. I will gain true freedom after Cockroach dies.
I looked through the bag Agnis gave me and held the light blue marbles. They weren’t cold. He called it frost magic.
It wasn’t related to water magic. It was more the opposite of magic and manifested itself as ice. Frost magic is the perfect counter to anything mana-related. It’s lost magic and extremely powerful.
I might be stronger than him but winning against him might be extremely difficult or even impossible. Not that i want to fight him.
Azure petals floated around and I threw a frost marble at it. The mana in the petals got sucked up and eliminated the petals.
The frost marble didn’t even hit them, it just flew past it.
In my left hand, I created a sphere of water magic and held a frost marble near it. The water froze as it got pulled into the marble. The magic that increased the water volume also got eliminated and my [Waterball] disappeared.
“Why did he give me a whole bag of these? I would need 10 of these at worst.”
I never encountered frost magic, however. It would make an interesting topic for research.
“Anti magic eh?”
