I woke up and dressed the best I could. I had to unfortunately go without braids because that would take too long. I took a deep breath and exhaled. I had made a last-minute change. I had allowed for my hat to feed a fire affinity whenever I used [Meteor]. I will have to use it a lot after all. I teleported to the edge of Witchaven. I could see the army and a large flame in the distance. They were half a day away from hitting the village where Paula lives.
Hit first and ask questions later. I cast 3 [Meteors] and aimed them at the army. They seemed quite panicked. 2 [Meteors] got shot out of the sky by Zarrazax but the last one crashed down on the army. I decided to find out for how long I could cast [Meteors] before this strategy became unviable. I cast 6 more [Meteors]. I wasn’t hurting the god but this army was my immediate concern. Zarrazax blocked 3 [Meteors] and the rest had an apocalyptic impact that wiped out half the army. I was actually surprised that so many humans survived this but I noticed Zarrazax giving them a strange kind of energy. I hopped on my staff and flew over. I opened my bottle which held more water than its volume suggested and I dropped water on their frontlines. I weaved between thousands of fire-based attacks flying at me and I used [Tsunami].
I got hit by some attacks. They stung but my [Azure Aura] made them annoying, not lethal. The [Tsunami] swept up the majority of the army. Zarrazax, a guy looking about the age of 18, with red flaming hair and wearing just pants was doing his best to save his soldiers. I wondered if I could charm a god. I cast [Seduce] on Zarrazax. He got briefly distracted as he was undressing me with his eyes. This was enough for me to cast another [Tsunami] and decimate the remainder of his army.
“Hey sweetie, how about you stop attacking our city and I might give you a kiss, you are quite cute.”
“Get out of my head witch! I already have someone! The one and only true beauty, Biian!” This hurt my ego a bit. Am I not sexy enough? He did mention another Sarian god which was a problem.
“How about you just go back home to your woman and leave us alone?” I used [Azure Sharks] and they assaulted the army which attempted to stay afloat.
“How about you relinquish this land and become my concubine?”
“Never!”
Zarrazax freed his soldiers by evaporating the water. He tried to cast [Meteor] and I interrupted it. His magic is so inefficient. A human baby has magic more efficient… It’s power is real, so I don’t think he cares. I dropped [Ice Spears] as I flew over the army. I suddenly felt hot and I got punched off my staff and crashed into the ground.
“Ow, you lack delicacy, you can’t just punch a lady!”
“I have no choice, you wiped out three-quarters of my army!”
“How about you be a sweetie and let me wipe all of them out, maybe also let me get a good hit on you?” I threw an [Azure Spear] at him. He attempted to block it with fire but the spear shot through it and flew through his head. Flames gathered and filled up the hole and his head turned back to normal.
“Ow, that hurt, so there are some races besides those obnoxious tailed beasts that stand a chance against us.
“Oh, have you seen any?” I dodged a [Flare] and used [Azure Flower].
“We have wiped them all out, they are extinct.” My hand shook.
“What?! That’s impossible!” The azure petals ripped through him but he kept regenerating.
“Oh, that’s very much possible, they were a thorn in our side so we killed every last of them. The nine tailed spirit foxes and three tailed shadow cats are now extinct. The others don’t have the skillset to be any real threat to us. The dragons however are slowly becoming an issue.”
“You’re after dragons too?! What makes you so different from the humans then if you wipe out everything you don’t like!”
The temperature spiked.
“Don’t compare me with these filthy ground crawlers! You will regret that”
“Oh, my did I strike a nerve?” I gathered the petals and created a large [Azure Flower] around me to protect me from the [Heat waves] Zarrazax was throwing at me. The heat was a bit too much so I teleported away and used another [Tsunami]. Zarrazax was a bit too focused on me so he forgot to protect his army. I threw another [Seduce] at him. He did seem to struggle against my charm magic.
“You… your relationship with your lover is unstable, isn’t it?”
“What would a dumb witch know!” I smiled. [Seduce] is relatively ineffective if the target has a strong bond with his or her partner. I don’t know how gods do this but most races don’t have a baseline strong connection or it takes many years. Something akin to our research partner for at least 10 human years is needed or races that can connect telepathically.
“So, this Biian, how much hotter is she than me?” I threw more charm into the mix and took up a seductive pose while obliterating the army with more [Azure Sharks].
“I will give it to you, you are hot but, Biian is twice as hot as you!”
“Oh my, the goddess of beauty is only twice as hot as me? That means I have a chance!” I had successfully eradicated the army. It had cost me almost a quarter of my mana. I was sweating heavily while evading and dispelling the attacks Zarrazax had sent at me. I would like to say that I had singlehandedly defeated 2 million humans empowered by a god but Zarrazax had torched many of his followers. My estimation is that I had killed 1.3 million and he had killed the rest. Out of the stories I have read about the Calamity trio, it had been suggested that gods aren’t very bright. Why would they need to be intelligent if they can wipe out a country in the blink of an eye?
I interrupted 3 more [Meteor] casts from his side and cast a [Meteor] myself. He took it full on. I wanted to use [Azure Mist] but since that [Meteor] didn’t do any damage I decided against it. I used my last free cast to cast [Drown] on him. He went under but created a steam explosion and got out angrier than ever.

“You’re lucky that you’re pretty, else I would have turned you into ash!”
“Hmm, I don’t think that’s the reason. I think you’re too stupid to turn me into ash!” I stuck out my tongue and flew away.
“Hey come here!” I lured him north, away from Witchaven. I kept using [Seduce] during my flight. It may be possible to turn him into a lovestruck zombie if I do this often enough. I had no luck, unfortunately. I did lure him into the mountains of the Lucidus mountain range. I was far enough from Witchaven to unleash my full might. I unleashed the power from my hat and I saw that my hair looked like it had turned into water. This is the second time ever, I got this serious that my hair started acting as my primary affinity. I used [Torrential Downpour] and heavy rain started to stream down. Anyone knows that fighting a water magic user in the rain or snow is extremely stupid. I wonder if this god knows that too.
“Some rain won’t stop me!” Is what he said but all his weaker fire attacks became ineffective and useless.
“Now show me some of your stronger moves, I have the feeling you’re holding back.”
I had created an enormous [Azure Spear] that dropped from the sky. He narrowly dodged it. It took his arm. The rain made it harder for him to regenerate.
“What is this power?! Are you an Ardella Demi?”
“A what?”
“Wait, you witches are strictly female, that’s impossible.”
I moved masses of water around to block any fire flying at me. He tried to heat up the area but the downpour countered him. I wonder if he is trying to avoid attracting attention. I don’t care. It works for me. Zarrazax started to create fire wisps around him but I kept sending water at him and the area slowly filled with steam.
“Ugh stupid fog!” I had no problems seeing through this fog. This god is unimpressive. I used another [Drown] but he decided to grow in size and all the water that had collected in this valley rapidly turned into steam.
“It’s a shame that I have to kill you, last warning! Become my concubine or I will turn you into ash!”
“So forceful, I will decline. Do your worst boy.”
“Don’t call me boy!” All the water had disappeared and the temperature started to climb. It was still raining so the whole valley was covered in a thick blanket of steam. He cast [Meteor]. I flew away at max speed. The [Meteor] crashed down and molten rock got ejected everywhere. I used [Water Body] to temporarily turn my body into water and avoid taking damage from the shockwave.
“Groaahh! Die bitch!” He kept punching the area with heated firsts not realizing that I had evaded that. I mustered as much mana as I could and used the biggest [Tsunami] I have ever made in my life. The wave swallowed most of the mountains. Zarrazax who was almost as large as a mountain turned around and stared at the tidal wave that towered over him.
“What?!” The [Tsunami] knocked him down and flushed him into another mountain. I followed up with a full powered [Azure Flower]. I use this skill often and regularly but it is always in its weakened version. This is because I like the look of this skill.
A Mistflower made out of ice grew next to Zarrazax. Its size was slightly smaller than Zarrazax. The flower violently exploded and sent countless sharp ice petals flying into Zarrazax. He seemed to not take this well. After having confirmed that this had hurt him, I used [Mistflower Field]. It was a field of [Azure Flowers]. The mountainside looked beautiful. Beautiful but deadly. The Mistflowers bloomed and violently exploded ripping Zarrazax to shreds. He still couldn’t regenerate properly because of the rain. The petals of the exploded Mistflowers, fell to the ground and sprouted another [Mistflower Field]. I could see the terror on this god's face. He was halfway regenerated when this field exploded. The field kept reforming and exploding. It did get smaller every time but it used my target as the epicentre so he would take the most hits.
“Ok, I concede you win!” Zarrazax was hardly regenerated. The last single Mistflower exploded.
“I’m not stupid, there is no way a god would surrender. I used the skill that had earned me my nickname. [Azure Mist]. I had created this skill to be effective against gods just as a fan project, never would I have dreamed to have to actually use it against one.
“Fine in that case then…” He couldn’t finish his sentence because he got blasted. My [Azure Mist] has certain properties that cause it to punish anyone who uses magic incorrectly or who uses divine energy.
I have even written them down in case I find my research partner. Anyone who gets close to me will probably have to deal with this jerk because I can’t imagine him leaving me alone after this. [Azure Mist] works like this:
1. All magic circles or invocations take twice as long to activate, invocations need to be cast twice. Drawing circles is unaffected
2. 1 doesn't apply to divine energy but it does double the cost of divine energy used.
3. Obstructs vision and weakly saps mana and divine energy.
4. [Azure Mist] requires the caster to cast at least 1 attacking skill (Priming skill) before using it. Any skill used in the Azure mist that is weaker than the Priming skill gets turned into water and put under the caster of [Azure mist] control.
5. Any opponent outside the [Azure Mist] can’t hit the user while he/she is in the [Azure Mist].
6. The Azure mist automatically attacks opponents that are using divine energy with the same power as the Priming skill. Non-divine energy users get hit for twice this damage.
7. Azure Mist costs minimal mana but has an insane cast time.
Since my Priming skill was [Mistflower Field], this is what this god will get hit by every time he attempts to use magic or divine energy. And since the [Mistflower Field] is in effect for so long he will get continuous damage from staggered [Mistflower Fields]. I used [Snowfall] and [Blizzard] to pile on to this. I heard only screams of pain. Any attempt to use magic got punished by more exploding Mistflowers that ripped him into shreds.
After 4 minutes I saw a beam of fire shoot into the sky. Zarrazax had fled. I was breathing heavily. I had expended more than half of my mana and he wasn’t dead yet. I sat down and rested while still in the [Azure Mist]. As long as I keep this active nobody will be able to hit me.I did it! I survived! And I scared a god off. Maybe my dream of meeting and adventuring with the calamity trio isn’t that far off. I might not have killed him but at least I won’t be dead weight! I laid down on the wet grass. I was quite elated.
I created an [ice mirror]. I was a bit sweaty and I looked a bit rough and I was soaked but it had a different kind of sexiness to it. I wonder how beautiful that goddess is if my [Seduce] with my current look didn’t work. I put the [ice mirror] down and decided to take a nap. The rain didn’t bother me at all.
----------------------------------------
I woke up to birds chirping. The rain had stopped. I was still soaked. I dried myself by pulling the water out of my clothes and off my body. I filled my water bottle with all the water on the grass and looked at the small lake my battle had made. I took a deep breath of the fresh mountain air. It was invigorating. Maybe I should go live in the mountains after I leave Witchaven. Do I even need to return? They probably think I’m dead. But what about Remi… She must be worried sick, and Paula too. ugh, I have to return, don't I? When will my misery stop? I should have studied and learned [Telepathy]. I could also let an enormous Mistflower bloom on a mountain to show them I’m fine but it might attract unwanted attention. I am also not stealthy enough to sneak into Witchaven, tell Remi I’m ok and sneak out. But I have read enough fiction about sneaky characters to attempt this!
I messed with the moisture in the air and managed to bend the light around me. I was invisible! Now I need to wipe out my mana signature. Uhh, how do I do that? I don’t know. I will just keep it as low as possible. Let operation: ‘Infiltrate Witchaven’ begin!
