“This isn’t aimed at you but at your race, someone this dangerous is doing as she pleases and they only send one person? Are they taking things seriously?” Wren shook her head as she was eating more carrots. I thought at first that she must love carrots but it seems she doesn't.
“I’m sorry but I don’t think they do. That’s almost exactly what I told the council when they only sent me after her. It had escalated to the point that I might be the only Misha that can stop her. I might even need help.”
“I’m sorry we’re short on numbers so we can’t send someone with you but we can give you all the information that you might need. We know her exact location and her goal.”
“Goal? Didn’t she just want to get stronger?”
Wren waved and someone brought her a stack of leaves. She read some. “You can read Hourai… ehh old Kaledonian right?”
I nodded.
She shoved stacks of leaves to me. The rabbits were using these as paper.
“The exact location is written there with the details that the scouts have gathered. For her goal… we have reason to believe that it’s apotheosis.”
The leaves fell from my hands. “What?! Isn’t that impossible? How?”
“We don’t know but she has managed to defeat and kill a minor god. She is most likely going to assimilate with the corpse and attain divinity. How… We don’t know sorry; it might be something you as a witch…Misha are better equipped in on figuring out. We only know that she is gathering skills and thus strength to increase the success rate.”
I read the stacks of leaves. “Huh, what is this. [Hattrick] I’ve never heard of this skill.”
“Hmm our information is incomplete but it seems a witch…Misha… actually… nevermind. He created a skill that splits your hats in 3 and has them cast magic independently, the mana gets copied not split, also the user can teleport to any of the hats. It seems to combat the fact that losing your hat as a Misha is deadly.”
I got excited. So I finally happened! A Misha took things seriously! But...
“Wait.. you said ‘he’? Misha are strictly female. I can’t imagine the Misha letting a man research Misha.”
Wren scratched her right ear. “Well, that’s why we were confused at first but well look at this.”
A leaf got pushed in front of me. it was a handwritten copy of something. It seemed like a front page of a research paper. It had the abstract which in short told about the goal, hypothesis and conclusion of a research paper.
“Wait… written by Agnis Hourai?” My hands shook.
“Yes… that spirit fox impersonated a wi...Misha, snuck into Witchaven and used the research of another Misha and created [Hattrick], the Misha community is going crazy about it but none of them seem to be able to learn it as it seems extremely complicated.”

“Hey are you ok?” Wren seemed concerned but there was no need.
“Yes… I’m sorry. So, he continued my research… I’m so happy. Do you have the whole research paper? I would love to see what he created.”
Wren shook her head. “I’m sorry it seems that copies of [Hattrick] are guarded religiously by the Misha as it solves one or several of their weaknesses. Only the abstracts are floating around. The only one who has been observed using it is Agnès Oures, which is the alias he used as he had [Transformed] into a Misha to get that far. Highly characteristic of a nine tailed spirit fox.”
“I see, so he’s doing fine and even revived my research. This is everything a Misha could ask for. You said that Verruka is after him to steal [Hattrick] right? And she somehow needs that to succeed in her apotheosis, right?”
“Well yes but something set her back enormously a while ago, which works for us. That look in your eyes. You’re going for it aren’t you?”
“Oh yes! I don’t respond well to others threatening those close to me. I had already a lot of motivation to kill her. She just made it worse for herself.”

I was laying down in the bed they let me borrow. My research has been revived and is in demand! I wonder what the runic structure of [Hattrick] is like. I admit that I could use something like that.
I opened the runic structure of my hairpin. Complicated as ever. I tried to find what he might have done to create [Hattrick] but I couldn’t find anything after 30 minutes, which would suggest that it was indeed complicated.
This must mean he delved into my research of magic runes and magic circles and then into my research of Misha hats. I could understand the former but why would Misha hats be important? Wait… he has been seen using [Hattrick] that’s strange… he isn’t a Misha.
Curiosity prevented me from sleeping. It must have something special. He would need to use Misha physiology to create [Hattrick], is that why nobody can’t use it yet? Because he made mistake in that? It sounds complicated though. He based it off my research so if I can’t find a simple or easy way to do this then he must have made a big discovery.
Imposter is annoying but not stupid, she won’t be going after a skill that won’t work. But how did he make it then? He isn’t a Misha.
My thoughts went into magical weapons as I was looking at my hairpin. Agnis was a blacksmith and one of his dreams was to create a cool magical katana.
“Don’t tell me… does he have another part of the puzzle?”
I got up. I had determined that magical weapons and Misha hats were quite similar. It’s possible that he found something. I am only an expert in Misha hats, he is an expert in magical weapons and Misha hats. [Hattrick] might be where those 2 fields intersect.
My excitement grew. I need to wrap this up and pay him a visit. It has been almost 9 years since I got freed. I had promised to get back to them in 10 years. It might take a bit longer than that as Killing the Imposter took longer than I thought it would.
This imposter wants to become a god? Too bad. I have fought gods. While my win rate is debatable, I don’t instantly lose when fighting a god.
Sleeping in this state was impossible so I started to mess with my skills. I will be assuming that her apotheosis I successful so I will have to get ready to fight a god, again.

I stayed with the rabbits for 3 months. Mainly because I was still working on my magic skills but also to gain more information. The rabbits were so kind to send scouts out to update any information they had on the Imposter.
It seems that the Imposter had managed to capture a shadow clone of Agnis. The reason her plans had been set back was because that clone created chaos. The clone didn’t get defeated but ran out of mana which had greatly pissed off the Imposter.
The rabbits and I laughed our hats and ears off when hearing that. It has been many years but he’s still helping me. I decided to capitalize on this and set out a day after this report came in.
This Imposter had settled down quite some distance from here. It was about 1 month away but that was on bunny hopping speed. It would take me 4 months to get there without interruption.
I thanked the rabbits for their help and hospitality. They told me to send a flare and they will send help. The scouts that will be nearby in 4 months will be put on alert and tasked to help out when I send out the flare.
Off I went. Some bitch wants to become a god and someone has to tell her ‘no’ with lethal force.
