The bitch was still chasing me. I had no idea where I was supposed to go to. I couldn’t go back to Paula and Paul because I would be luring a crazy bitch to our home. Should I lure her into Witchaven? I was tempted but Remi and Bea are still there.
“Get hit by [Biian] and fall!”
“You named a skill after yourself? How narcissistic can you be?!” Golden light particles started to gather and the sky turned gold. This might be bad.
Rays of light burst down and the light particles shot golden light beams in every direction. I created as many [Ice mirrors] as I could and cast [Slow] on Biian. It failed. I tried 3 more times and it stuck the last attempt. It was as if the world had turned into slow motion. All the light beams flew out at walking speed. I poured more mana into my staff and fled.
“Come here you bitch!” The narcissist was still slowed. “Ugh, fine, have it this way then!”
A bright light appeared behind me. I wanted to see what was happening but it would probably blind me. The light didn’t stop. I decided to create an [Ice Mirror] and look behind me and I discovered that the bitch had become fatter. Well, that’s not exactly true, she had immensely grown in size. Her hair was also gold. She swiped her arm at me and countless [Lasers] flew at me. I made more [Ice Mirrors] and flew upwards. I had noticed that some of Biian’s attacks had connected the ground and might have wiped out a village or two. The sky was quite clear. If I could just get to the mass of clouds in the distance, I could attempt to scare her away. I scattered more [Azure Flowers] and made the petals turn into small mirrors to keep myself safe. I also used [Fog].
“Come here and fight!” Is this bitch stupid? I am not going to fight fairly against an enormous goddess made out of light! Screw that! I want to go home! I swatted some attacks away with my hat. I also had taken some hits and my hat had poured another burst of mana into me to keep me alive. In my current state, I can ‘die’ 5 more times.
I need a lot of time and rest to replenish my mana. I started throwing [Spatial Spears] at her. Nothing seemed to hurt her. Fighting gods is so unfair!
I finally made it to the mass of clouds. That bitch was still pursuing me. I saw the mark that Nadila had left on the country that worships her. The shoreline is still affected by dark and shadow magic. Nadila had destroyed a country’s worth of land to make sure that the capital of Biian’s religious country got wiped off the map. I would say that serves her well! I remembered another weakness of light magic. She needs a clear mind. The effectiveness of her magic was decreasing, she did seem to get progressively more annoyed. Is taunting and provoking her actually a good tactic?
“Hey Bitch! Wasn’t your capital somewhere around here? Or did you build it at the bottom of the Sevian Sea? Oh, wait! It got nuked by Nadila Sheru! I know she hates water but she must have wanted to double the size of the Sevian sea!”
“You! How do you know that name! I hate those furballs! I will give you a reward if you can tell me where those pests are!” I gave her the middle finger and as her anger increased the potency of her light skills decreased.
I kept provoking her and making fun of her. Her killing intent spiked but her attacks did less and less. It seems every god has a flaw that can easily be exploited. This might be the only reason why I and legendary races stand a chance. I used [Cloud Siphon] and sent 2 [Tsunami] at her. One from my location in the sky and another that originated from the sea beneath her. She made light barriers but [Tsunami] doesn’t care about light or earth defensive skills. They got easily broken.
“You are a pest you know that?!” More attacks flew at me but these couldn’t shatter the [Ice mirrors] I still had floating around so they got sent back. I made the biggest [Azure Chain] I could muster and bound her in a sexy way.
“Release me this instant! I demand you to release me from this humiliating bind!”
“Hehe, you want to be sexy? Go show how sexy you are to your followers!” This bitch was huge so everyone on the shore of her country could see her. I saw a large group of people gather at the shore in the distance.
“I will kill you!” She started to trash. I used [Mistflower Field]. The sea filled up with enormous Mistflowers. As usual, fighting a water user near a body of water or in the rain is extremely stupid. This [Mistflower field] is many times stronger than the one I first used on the loser.
For the first time since she had turned huge, I damaged her body and not her ego. She started to thrash around sending [Light waves] and [lasers] everywhere. I used [Azure Mist] and her angry screams shifted to screams of agony.
I decided to get out of here. As long as she stays in there, she will get continuously bombarded by exploding Mistflowers. I flew back to Vong. The bitch wasn’t pursuing me because she was still bound by the [Azure Chain]. They seemed like they would soon break but I would be far away before that happened. It took a while before I couldn’t hear her screams anymore. A lot of people must have seen that and heard that. All her followers must have certainly seen that. Even though it feels good to humiliate her like that. I might have made another enemy…
----------------------------------------
I arrived at Vong several days later. I had escaped from not one but 2 gods! I was mentally exhausted. I arrived home. I wanted to tell Paul and Paula what had happened but I was too tired. I went to bed and slept like a baby.

“...Ya…Aya! Wake up! You’re not dead, are you?!”
I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes, I tried to get up but my body felt heavy. I didn’t get fat, did I? I inspected myself and concluded that I still had a killer body.
“Hey, are you alright? You slept for 3 days! We were wondering if we should wake you up or let you sleep!”
I rubbed my head. “I’m fine thank you. I’m just tired. I will tell you what happened later. I’m starving. Can you get some food for me?”
“Paul!” Paul came in 5 minutes later with a plate full of healthy and yummy-looking sandwiches.
“We were concerned you know. We saw you run out and that loser god running after you. We’re so glad you’re still alive!” Paula came in for a hug and I almost dropped my sandwich. I patted her back while I continued eating.
“I’m sufer shtrong remebfer?!”
“Stop talking with your mouth full! And I know you’re super strong.” I cleared out the plate of sandwiches and Paul helped me get up and brought me to the couch in the living room.
“Now tell me what happened while I braid your hair.”
“So, I was bathing and relaxing and that creep showed up. He groped my chest so I eliminated his future generations by giving his family jewels a knee!” I saw Paul cringe and become uncomfortable as if he was the victim of my sneak attack.
“Does that even affect gods?” Paul asked still with an uncomfortable expression.
“I don’t know but that did hurt him so I ran out and flew away. I had tried to make a skill called [Azure Chain] to attempt to bind gods and Verruka so that they can’t escape but I needed a mana rune that had to be extracted from ambient mana with a low contamination so I returned to where I told you guys, I had met Ylia, or well a [shapeshifted] shadow clone of her…” Paula seemed to have remembered the carnage we had found at the shadow elf forest and how we buried the Misha that had been brutally murdered.
“I also had the idea of sealing Verruka in that ancient building but the plan changed to sealing that loser away in the ancient building. Things didn’t go exactly as planned because I got knocked out of the sky and crashed into a mountain. I should have called the new cave Ayaru cave…”
“I suppose your [Azure Aura] was very useful.”
“Yes! So, I bound the loser when he came looking for me, kicked his ass and sealed him away in that building, and dropped a landslide on it. Nobody should be able to find it easily! I even wiped out the mana disturbances our fight and presence had created. There was one problem though…”
“More problems?”
“Yeah… his lover came for revenge. Although… she called him his pet…” Paula burst out in laughter.
“Haha so he thinks she’s his lover but she thinks he’s, her pet?! What a loser! So, I guess this goddess also was nothing special!”
“Uh, no she was the real deal, I had to run for my life. I wished I could thank Ylia. Her book saved me…” I pointed at my bag and Paul brought it over. I took out the book about light magic and gave it to Paula.
“I had read it before that bitch attacked me. It told me about the strengths and weaknesses of light magic. Without it, I would have probably been dead…”
Paula speed-read through it with magic. “This is certainly useful to know. I knew that shadow magic was strong against light magic though. Let me help you the next time she harasses you.” I nodded.
“So, I didn’t know where to flee to so I just fled up and toward a mass of clouds over Bia, the country where her religion is based. It brought me over the Sevian Sea. That’s where I used my [Azure Mist] combo on her. I did bind her with [Azure Chain]. In a sexy way for all her followers to see. She must be pissed hahaha!”
“You do know that this makes you a target even more, right?”
“I know but she deserved it! These gods should just leave us alone! The council should have accepted and get us into Hourai…”
“I guess it becomes clear why they hid. Once a god sets its eyes on you, you will have to either run, kill the god, or get killed by the god.”
“Or seal it away!”
“Yeah, your braids are done.”
“Thanks!”
“Do you think that goddess knows where you are? Should we flee” Paul looked very worried.
“I don’t know but where should we go? We will have to live in the middle of nowhere to make sure nobody gets put in danger.” Silence fell. Nobody had an idea what the best course of action was.
Paula got up. “We have a lot to do. I will prepare myself to [Shadow Meld] that bitch and banish her like that. You find out how to annoy her more since you seem to be good at that and Paul… Maybe…”
“Absolutely not! I’m not staying behind! I’m coming with you!”
“But…”
“For better or worse right?”
“But…” Paul grabbed Paula’s hand.
“All or nothing, I would rather perish than be left behind without you.”
“Ugh, guys get a room!” I got up and walked toward the door. “I will be revising skills that could deal with that bitch. You guys go do what you do best and make it awkward for me and the neighbors!” I saw their faces turn red before I walked into the corridor and got to my room.
I sat down and sighed. Why does my life suck so much? What have I done to deserve this? I checked myself to make sure I wasn’t cursed. I couldn’t find any curse. I was wondering if some god was playing a prank on me but I now know that they don’t have a sense of humor, just like the Misha. Why am I stuck with these boring races? Humans are a bit more interesting but the interesting and exotic races all have gone into hiding. Is dying the only way I can escape my fate? I took my hat off my head and looked at it. It was completely unscathed. I had used it to swat attacks from a god away and it’s perfectly fine. I hugged my hat.
“Thank you.” I altered its appearance again and delved deep into improving my hat more. I had to be at my best. I already feel like I’m more powerful that I need to be but in the face of that bitch I could only run. I want to beat her or at least put up a good fight.
I uncovered more secrets about its toughness and updated my [Azure Aura]. Paula knocked on the door again. I looked out of the window. When did it become morning?
“I’m still alive! Don’t worry!”
“Don’t forget to eat!” I got up and went to the kitchen for some snacks.
“You know there is other food than cake, right?” Paul was frying some eggs. “You want some eggs?” I nodded.
Paula walked into the living room wrapped in a bath towel. “Paul and I are going out today, will you be fine alone?”
“I’m not a child Paula! I will be fine!”
“You always find a way to get into trouble.”
“It is not my fault that the guys want a piece of this sexy body!” Paul, choked and started coughing.
“Look what you’ve done to Paul!” I returned to my room and continued altering my hat. I was lacking in so many mana runes. I barely managed to double my hat’s mana capacity. It was a big boost but hardly enough to contend with a goddess.
I laid down on my bed and looked at the ceiling. This isn’t going to work… I reached my hand to the ceiling. “Someone, help me…please…”
