Chapter 71
Lintian woke up a couple days later. His head still ringing. Everything felt like a dream to him.
Lintian sat up and looks around. He saw that he was in a hospital bed. There was also a girl laying on his lap.
“Chelsey?” Lintian murmurs.
“Huh?” Chelsey mumbles waking up from her dream. “Lintian you’re awake! Are you ok? Are you heart anywhere?”
“My head is still ringing but other than that I am fine,” answers Lintian. “How long was I out for?”
“About four days.”
“Oh no!” Lintian whisper shouts. “I have to get going! Xintong’s matches are they over?” Then it dawns on him that Chelsie wouldn't know who he was talking about.
“Oh Xintong? That black hair girl who is really strong.”
“Um, yeah how do you know her?”
“She came by every day after her match to watch over you and I we began to talk about you,” Chelsey said shying away.
“Where is she? I have to go say sorry to her for missing her matches. I don’t know why I fainted when I stepped through the door to my house,” Lintian said. Lintian remembers walking through the door to his family villa and then things became blurry.
Lintian saw Chelsey’s expression take a dramatic turn.
“What happened?” Lintian asks.
“Its reported that they are all dead…”
Lintian’s mind went into chaos.
“How? Why! When!” Lintian screams frantically.
Hearing Lintian’s shouts and scream the nurse came running in.
Lintian tried to get out of the bed but the moment he got onto the floor his legs gave out and he fell to the floor. The drugs they inject him with had not worn off yet.
“Lintian calm down,” the doctor said as helped him back onto the bed.
“What happen to my family?” Lintian asks frantically.
“It is reported that your family has gone to a better place,” the doctor sighs. He was not too familiar on the details either. Furthermore it would not be good for the patience’s health and mind to be in chaos so he deliberately answers the question vaguely.
Lintian was not a stupid child and could obviously understand what the doctor meant by a better place. Lintian’s body droops down. His eyes still had a hint of despair in a storm of despair. He refuse to believe it.
“I want to see them,” Lintian said.
“You can’t,” the doctor answers.
Lintian’s eyes shifts and there was this cold glare that could freeze the sun. The doctor felt a chill like he was in front of a great beast that was ready to devoir him.
“Your, your body is still too weak.” The doctor stammers a bit.
Chelsie stood to the side and watched. She also felt the chill but for some reason she thought it was very respectable. Especially if it makes a full grown adult wet his pants.
“When will my body be ready to go?” Lintian asks.
“If there are no complications the drugs will wear off by tonight.”
“Fine,” Lintian replies.
The doctor sighs a breath of relief. “I will come back and check on you later.” After he said that he began to usher everyone out of the room.
“Lintian you ok?” Chelsie asks.

“Yes, I’m fine. I want to be alone right now.”
“Ok,” Chelsie said. Seeing Lintian that way broke her heart. She decided to leave him alone. Chelsie got up and walks out the door.
Lintian tries to exert strength out of his body but he couldn't feel an ounce of qi in his body. Sighing, to himself Lintian decided to try and cultivate the qi back. Qi began to gather around him and enter his Dantian. Lintian then focus those qi to try and eliminate the drugs in his system. Little by little the drug compounds were breaking down. After 20 to 30 minutes all the drugs in his system were gone.
He still felt like he was drained of qi. Whats going on? Lintian wonders. Normally he has a fast rate of qi recovery. Lintian deepens his breathing as more qi gather on top of his skin. Then he made a whirl pool in his dantian as more and more qi began to be absorbed. Except the qi kept disbursing like cold water hitting a burning hot pan. Seeing this effect Lintian decided to sleep through it. Maybe this just temporary Lintian thought. As he drifts off to sleep the gathered qi sitting on top of his skin began to gather into a liquid and seep into his body. Then his meridian veins began to glow a dark green. The blue droplets of qi seeps into those meridian points. As that happened the qi in his body was jump started. Like a broken dam qi began to flood and circulate his body.
Lintian did not enter into the dream state but rather slept like a baby. When he woke it was already night time and his body felt great. He felt light, but strong.
Lintian hops out of bed and peers out the window. It was dark outside. He saw that he was the only one in the room. Lintian walks over to the window side and peers outside. It seems that he was on the sixth story of this building. Four story is not that hard of a jump but it would still hurt a lot. It looks to be about 24 to 25 meters high.
Lintian climbs out the window with one hand hanging from the windowsill. Luckily there was a roof top about 6 meters below him to the right. Lintian began to sway his body left and right. When he felt just the right momentum he lets go and flew over to the room. In order to reduce the pressure exerted Lintian rolls on top of the roof.
19 more meters to go Lintian thought. Lintian began to run on top of the roof and jumps to a lower roof whenever he saw one. Eventually he made it down. Afterwards Lintian snuck out of the school and began to jog toward his family village. It was usually a 45 minute drive by car going at about 80 mph. Right now Lintian’s constant speed was about 24 mph. It might not seem fast but for us normal humans the maximum speed we can exhibit is 26mph. For Lintian 24 mph was jogging speed. After jogging for about 2 hours Lintian arrives at the gate of his family villa.
Lintian opens up the door and enters. It was dead silent. Seeing this the truth finally hit Lintian like a train through a brick wall. He was overwhelmed with a tsunami of emotions. Ranging from loneliness, sadness, misery, anger, and even despair. Tears running down his face.
“Waaaa!” Lintian cries out.
Harris hidden in one of the corners watched. His own emotions stirring up. He watched Lintian come out from the sixth story and follows him for two hours.
Lintian’s crying rang through out the night.
“Ah ahh awooo!” as the wolves howls alongside Lintian in the distance mountain.
“WHY! WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS!” Lintian raged out. “I DIDN’T ASK FOR THIS GOD FORSAKEN ABILITY!”
“I DIDN’T ASK FOR POWER! I JUST WANT TO LIVE A NORMAL LIFE! IS THAT SOMETHING HARD!”
“Waaa!”
Harris’s hands were clenched tightly, his teeth grinding against each other. I wanted so hard to tell Lintian his parents are still alive but they mysterious person a cloak told him to make sure Lintian believes that his parents are dead. If not his parents will really be dead.
“WHY! AT LEAST TELL ME WHY!” Lintian yells against the heavens.
Lintian cries until his tears ran dried and he fell asleep.
Harris sighs and walks out of the shadow. He picks up Lintian and he calls out his bear companion. Sits on top and the bear carries them back to the hospital.
