Book 3 chapter 9: Seven Days Of Rest

Bam!

A flood of treasures came flying out of the ring.

Xiang, Tang, and Lee jaws all dropped to the ground seeing the flood of treasure.

“H h h how how did you?” Xiang stammers.

“Yeah I like to know that too,” Lee said.

“It is all Lintian!” Fang replies. “This is not everything. In this ring is 4.7 billion qi stones worth of herbs.”

“What did you do?” Tang asks, “rob a bank?”

“Close enough,” laughs Lintian. “I robbed Tao Xa’s residence.”

“How?” Lee asks suspiciously.

“It is a secret,” Lintian said.

“Did you rob any demonic cores?” Tang asks.

“I wish,” Lintian said casually. “It was in an area swarming with people so I couldn't even visit it.”

They didn't know whether to laugh or cry at the moment. Being able to rob this much amount of items was already crazy and right now his excuse was there was to much people the area?

“Anyway you guys should split this all up and go sell them in a city two to three days away. This way it won’t get traced back to you or anyone from that city,” Lintian explains. Two to three days is not even considered far in this world but for now it is far enough. Furthermore in this world there is no internet so tracking these items down is a lot harder.

“Alright I’ll take over from here,” Tang said. “With this we definitely have more than enough money to purchase all the items. Lee you go to Trade City. Xiang you go to Confederate City. Fang you go to Violet City. I’ll head to Heaven City.”

“What should I do?” Lintian asks.

“You should take this time to train,” Tang said. “We have a lot of body refinement techniques here. Take this medallion and head to the library. The person there will allow you to go up to the third floor with this medallion.”

“What should I do with the 1 million herbs you had me buy?” Xiang asks a little lost.

“I’ll take them. I might as well make some more money while I am at it,” Lintian said and accepted the ring from Xiang and the dragon head medallion from Tang.

“Okay I’ll head off now,” Lintian said and was about to leave when Tang asks.

“Before you go did you want to check for any items that you might like?”

“I already took the stuff that are useful to me,” Lintian said respectfully and left.

Then he came right back. “Where is the library?”

All three of them burst out laughing as they were separating up the treasure.

“Lee do you see anything you like?” Tang asks.

“No,” Lee replies firmly.

“Take Lintian to the library then.”

“Okay. Lintian come with me.”

Lintian follows behind Lee to a tower that was locked with a bronze door. The amount of spell arrays here were a little insane. Strangely enough Lintian saw a rank 7 spell array at the seventh floor. This only made Lintian a little more curious. A little curious might be a bit of an underestimate. It was like a drug urge at the back of his mind.

Lee saw Lintian look curiously at the top floor, “don’t even bother. The top floor is reserved for the strongest inheritor of the family. No outsiders can see or visit it. The requirements are near impossible. You need to be a pureblood which is ten percent of your Ancestor’s bloodline. You also need a to be under 20 in the King’s realm with a solid foundation. A rank four soul. Train the body to be as hard as a Heaven’s realm treasure. Genius level comprehension. Meaning learning rank 6 techniques and under in less in than four hours. Finally you must be able to battle a demonic beast a whole realm above yourself.”

Lintian wanted to shout bullshit! Are you still human after all those requirements. Then thinking about it Lintian thought the requirements might not be as hard as he originally thought. This is because he is sixteen this year and using four years to break into the King’s realm from the second of the Master Realm might be hard for others but not for him. His soul was already rank 3 it is just one more rank in four years. As for the heaven’s realm body hardness that might be a bit hard unless you train in a very powerful body refinement technique since the day they could cultivate.

Anyway Lintian could still sneak in without a problem since he possesses the phasing technique from the Divine Lightning God’s Art. It has honestly been a while since he has trained in the third stage of the Divine Lightning God’s Art. The third stage is turning the body into lightning. This stage is not simple at all since it requires the user to turn itself into lightning essence. The user would be able to travel at the speed of 61 miles per second. It doesn't look or even sound impressive but speed of sound is only 0.213 miles per second. Recently Lintian didn't have time to ponder over it at all and has put it on a hold.

As Lintian walks into the tower he was greeted by an old man wearing a white robe sleeping on a desk. His cultivation was at the Heaven’s realm. This caused Lintian’s eyebrows to knit together. This is because in the Heaven’s realm a person develops a special sense of the world. Like a sixth sense. It is an invisible force they can sent out to inspect or track. They call this the divine sense. This sense has a distance of five thousand meters.

“This is Elder Bai. He is the keeper of this library. If you need anything just give a shout and if he can he will provide it.” Explains Lee.

“Lintian greets Elder Bai,” Lintian said respectfully and bows slightly.

“Mhmm,” Elder Bai mumbles and waves his hand. “You can go up to the third floor.”

“Thank,” they both replied.

“You go ahead. I’ll go back and help everyone.”

“Okay,” Lintian said and went up the stairs.

Lintian walks up the stairs to the third floor and used the medallion to enter.

Inside the library were shelves upon of cultivation methods, body refining skills, and basically every technique they have that are rank 4.

Just for the fun of it Lintian began to flip through some of the manuals and found out that their application is a little different from his planet. They were a lot more simplified. Less complicated, less power, but faster application, they do not use conscious energy at all in their application of these techniques. Which is interesting, because in order to channel qi one must have some kind of force to command it.

An example would be a general leading an army. An army without a general is just a mass of trained soldiers no different from a mass of villagers. While a General at the head can take down cities, countries, and nations.

If you think of qi as the mass of trained soldiers and conscious energy as the general than you can understand what Lintian’s thought process is. When Lintian uses martial techniques his conscious energy was always like a general leading the way even if it so minuscule that it doesn't effect his overall conscious energy. Except in these manuals that he is reading there is a different type of general being used here. The manuals call it intent.

After reading through 50 rank 4 martial skills techniques he still does not have a firm grasp on it. All he knows for now is that intent is an invisible, formless, and intangible energy that is even more mysteries than conscious energy. For now Lintian decided it was not time to learn it yet.

After perusing through some, body refinement arts he left the tower and went to his room. He then set up a conscious energy amassing array and a qi amassing array on his dream orb and went to sleep. The conscious amassing array will last for ten hours but the qi one will only last for 1 before it breaks down. In his sleep his mind wonders back into the dream orb. The room was pitch dark with the exception of one source of light.

It seems that the black flame sucked out all the energy in the orb. Luckily he was able to still sense Rashu’s life energy and wasn't afraid he would die. For now Lintian did not bother with it and left the dream orb because at the moment it is recuperating energy and with his presence here he is sucking energy out of it.

Lintian was back from his dream world and wide awake again.

He decided to take some of the herbs that Xiang brought back out. Lintian activated the heavenly cauldron and began to mix a couple pills.

Three pills popped out of the cauldron after 2 minutes. A medium tier and two high tier pills. Lintian’s original method to make money was to make these conscious energy pills. He noticed that none of the pills on this planet gives back conscious energy and all life uses it. It would increase strength, healing, and concentration.

Lintian pops one into his mouth and began to make a complicated spell array. This was a low level lightning essence gathering array.

After completing the array his energy was close to exhausted. He popped another pill to get most of it back.

After a certain amount of time he activated the Divine Lightning God’s art to practice stage three of this cultivation.

Time slowly passes.

1 Day.

2 Day.

3 Day.

After a week the lightning essence in his body was noticeable stronger and his speed increased by three percent.

During those seven days Lintian was also pondering on the thousand transformation armament technique his father taught him. He felt like he mastered it but for some reason he has a feeling that there were more than one way to use it.

On the first day he pondered a new method of application for it. On the second day he was doing mental simulations for them.

On the third day he tried to replicate those scenarios in his mind in reality. It took 3 days but he finally has an initial understanding of it. It is still not ready for actual combat but his understanding of the technique has deepen but a lot. In those seven days you can even say his Armament of a thousand transformation technique’s power and strength increased by a couple of levels.

On the eighth day when Lintian was resting his mind the trio finally came back.

“What took you guys so long?” Lintian asks.

“We went to cities that were three days away just incase,” Tang said. “The total came out to 230 billion qi stones. We probable only need 1 billion so you can take the rest.”

“No need,” Lintian said. “I already stole 50 billion qi stones from them already. Put it somewhere safe incase you need it in the future.”

“The auction is also tomorrow so lets go into Dragon city,” Tang said.

Lintian then said, “Auctions don’t really interest me that much anymore but that mountain that you talked about before. The Valafor Mountain challenge! I want to give it a try while you guys do the auction.”
