Book 3 Chapter 4: Infiltration into a Colosseum Battle

The group was semi large with about 30 to 40 purple youths in uniforms. Lintian blended right in while he kept his head low without raising any suspicion. The other youths around him chose to ignore him since they don’t recognize him at all but he was wearing a purple uniform. The youths here were all the top of their class and believes that there was no way they would be easily defeated and be replace by a stranger.

A little while later the leader of the group paid for everyone’s entrance fee into the colosseum. Lintian kept following them until they enter the elevator that was powered by qi. It went to the fourth floor. Lintian was then handed a seat number. After that Lintian snuck off from the group and into the crowd and disposes of his clothes.

The inside of the colosseum was massively huge. It was so huge that Lintian couldn't even tell that the whole place was actually circular.

“Oh this is going to take a while,” Lintian thought to himself. As Lintian was blending into the crowd he follows the flow of the crowd. While he was following along Lintian’s eyes were wandering around as he searched for the two scouts following him.

While parts of his mind were searching for those people the other part was looking for those four individuals that brought him to prison. Lintian then saw a map of the place. There was six floors here but only four were open to the public. The first floor was for the alchemist tournament. Second floor was for spell master battles. Third floor was for the battle of the physique. The fourth floor was a battle royal tournament. It combines all aspect of cultivation for battle.

Lintian knew this was the floor he needed to be on. He then went to into the stadium. The scene in front of him was simply amazing considering the era this was. The battle arena at the bottom was the size of fifteen football fields in a three by 5 formation that brought it to as close of a square as possible. How the hell are normal people supposedly to see this battle without televisions, Lintian wonders to himself. He himself has extremely great eyesight so it wasn’t an issue.

From the arena to where Lintian stood which was the edge of this stadium it was about 700 yard. In a fight the movements are too fast especially from such a far distant away. Lintian then notices that everyone was wearing some sort of glasses. Some were not but most of them were.

Lintian stayed in the back without taking a seat. He hid himself in a corner so it would be hard for others to see him.

Time slowly passed and he has seen over three battles already. The level of battle unleash was vastly stronger than the people he has fought so far. Lintian notices that the body defense and strength between cultivators here and his world is like a rock and a jello.

However their attacks are a level weaker in intricacy than his world and the spell casters are weaker too. Things were less complex but that isn't necessarily a bad thing because the strength of their body makes up for it. It would be similar to facing a demonic beast with intelligence.

After an hour Lintian finally saw someone familiar. It was Tang, and Xiang follow by an extremely gorgeous female and another youth that had sharp as broken glass jaw lines.

Damn this boy can be a model Lintian thought to himself.

The other team had five players.

The crowd was cheering loudly as the announcer announces their name and opponent.

“TEAM RECK! TEAM RECK! TEAM RECK!” the crowd cheers.

“SUN CHASER! SUN CHASER! SUN CHASER!” the other crowd cheers.

Once everyone arrived at the field the referee walks in. Lintian could instantly feel that he was somewhere in the middle of the King’s realm.

He raises his hand and then brought it down like he was crushing a boulder. The massive field sunk into the ground. Leaving behind 70 mini arenas that were six by six feet in size.

Then he raises his hand again and those 70 mini arenas rises by 10 feet higher. Then a flood of water filled in the empty space. Then he did some kind of motion and spikes rose out from the water.

“BATTLE BEGIN!”

They all jumped off from their platform and onto the little arenas. Lintian could tell that Fang was their spell master and was casting buff spells to increase her team’s strength, defense, and speed.

The other team did the same actions. One of them did some hand motions and the water around him transform into vicious tigers.

Lee ran across the water easily as the water around him became dragons. Xiang also ran forward as he blew out a cold gust of wind turning the water dragons that Lee made into frost dragons. Tang the leader of the group eyes transformed into dragon eyes. Lintian could see that Lee and Xiang severed their link with the dragons and gave it to Tang.

Xiang and Lee both hops onto a dragon controlled by Tang.

The other team were not so idol either. They began got into a formation as an illusionary turtle dragon appears. Then a wave of mist set in. Lintian could tell that it was a sight binding mist. It cuts off all light from inside the mist. The mist began to roll out further.

Fang formed another spell that blocked the mist from proceeding any further. Then she sent the same spell towards her teammates and expand it to be 7 feet sphere.

Boom!

The two forces collided. The frost dragons shattered into pieces but they were not dead. The pieces reformed back into its’ regular shape except the tail of the turtle dragon was stuck in the center of the frost dragon as it iced itself to a pole.

Thats interesting Lintian thought to himself.

Then Lee began to control the water in the arena to become a tsunami towards the mist. Out of the mist came a claw that pierce right through the tsunami aiming for Lee’s. It was like they already predicted this. A spell diagram appears above the tsunami combine with Xiang’s freeze gust technique the huge tsunami froze with the giant claw frozen right in it. This happen at the exact moment the claw pierce the tsunami.

“ARRGH!!!” the turtle dragon roars. It was useless. The other claw came shooting out of the mist to break the ice.

Boom!

Part of the ice shattered but it already began to reform in an instant. Trapping his other claw inside.

Then Xiang’s body began to change. He grew two times bigger and blue scale began to cover his body. His hand turns into claws. He leaps into the mist and the thing people were hearing were booms and pows! The energies were rebounding everywhere.

Using brute force to break a dragon turtle formation is not going to work, Lintian comments silently.

As Xiang distracted them, Lee and Tang began to use long distance attack.

Lintian finally realizes their plan. Those attacks are to waste their qi supply. With Xiang’s body strength combined with qi his attacks must be at least in the King’s realm. Combine that with the long distance attacks. They would have to maintain that whole formation which means losing energy faster than Xiang’s team.

After another minute they took a very decisive stance and release the formation and flew backwards. Except this whole battle has been under Tang’s control. From beginning till now the whole plan has been laid out. Chains shot out from underneath the ground. Normally a cultivator would never be chained down so easily but when they just release the formation and was completely focus on Xiang and Lee that they were not paying attention to their immediate surroundings.

Lintian then saw that there were chains coming out from Tang’s pants that were drilled into the ground.

After the Sun Chaser team was bind down the immediately gave up. Handing Tang’s team an easy win.

Not bad Lintian thought. After the crowd cheers and they left the arena the referee came back and returned the arena back to normal.

Lintian kept his eyes on them as he shuffles through the crowd. After a couple of phasing through restricted areas he finally ended up in their locker room. Lintian phases into a toilet stall so people doesn't know about his special ability. The toilet was pretty barbaric. It was just a hole in the ground.

Lintian walks out from the stalls.

“Hey guys you miss me?” Lintian said out loud to them only to have his jaws drop to the floor as lower part was stimulated.

“PERVERT!” Fang who was half dressed shouts out.

Xiang, Tang and Lee barges through the door ready to kill.

“ITS A MISS UNDERSTANDING!” Lintian shouts in defense and instantly deployed the God’s art to speed up his body.

Xiang stampedes over like a raging tiger. His fists soaring. With Xiang’s immense strength Lintian did not have the confidence to take it head on but it is not like there is no way to face him.

Lintian’s hands flew out in a graceful manner like a leaf in a storm. Each gentle tap drains Xiang of his strength. If not for the fact they just came from a big fight and Xiang’s body is fatigued from his transformation Lintian would not be able to deflect all of Xiang’s strength with Tai Chi.

Tai Chi was a set of martial arts that Harris taught Lintian on the side. A skill of softness to counter hardness. This skill needed precise precision and a huge knowledge base of the body.

Lintian practiced it enough to be one with the body with it but not anything passed it because it lacked power. Furthermore it doesn't it is a lot harder to use on opponents who are faster than you.

“Listen guys I didn’t come in here to peek or fight.” Lintian explains.

“Xiang stop,” Tang commanded. His body flurries across the room to stop Xiang. “How did you get in here?”

“I snuck pass some guards. Fiddle with the spell arrays a bit and I was in here,” Lintian lies.

Tang decided not to expose Lintian’s methods because it wasn't any of his business so he changes his question. “Why are you here?”

“You guys are the only people I know at this strange place and I don't speak the language here. I am only able to understand anyone because of these earphones. Also aside from you guys and that jailer guard person I don’t know who else has these earphones. Technology seems to be scarce here,” Lintian explains.

“What makes you think we help you at all?”

“I don’t expect you to help me for free but from the looks of it. You guys are missing a teammate and I can potentially help you fill that spot.”

“What makes you think you can help with that weak constitution, and cultivation?” Tang sneers.

Lintian didn’t like the way he said it but it was true his cultivation and body is weaker than their’s.

“I am a rank three spell master. Your teammate here is rank 2. Unlike her I can cast offensive spells that would be able to hurt or distract them. If I was in that battle I would have been able to destroy that mist formation they were using.”

“Arrogant baffoon,” Fang comments. “That mist was part of the dragon turtle formation making it a rank 4 spell. How would you destroy it?”

“A rank three sound spell. The mist is created through the release of a water spell. I would have used a lightning field spell. The lightning would use the mist’s water effect to attack the dragon turtle and the pores that the mist is being released from. Except it doesn’t matter,” Lintian smiles as he looks at Tang. “You knew from the beginning what they were going to do and the field you would be fighting on. There was no way you could have plan that from the start. Furthermore you were only able to win today because of the water arena combined with Lee’s bloodline ability to control water. I am surprise you were able to make ice strong enough to trap it.”

“Xiang’s ability to freeze water into ice comes with a special effect. It is able to absorb the qi of the object it froze to reheat the cold. Combine that with Fang’s cold spell we were able to instantly reduce the power of that claw by thirty percent. Your perception is not that bad.”

“I see.”

“What do you want?” Tang asks getting directly to the point.

“I want to go back home. I also what information on where I am.”

Lintian then heard footsteps coming towards this room. Lintian could feel how powerful they were too. Three people that looks like they were security guards came to the door way of the locker room.

“What is going on here? We were told that there was an intruder here!” The security guard said with glaring eyes as his gaze reaches Lintian.
