"You've become King, my lord, now what? What do you seek next?" Jaiden asked while I looked at the Castletown from the King's balcony. I was enjoying a delicious cup of wine as I smiled beneath my breath.
"We are going to fix it, Jaiden. I must make the commoner somewhat wealthy to invade Tempest and everyone else." I took a sip of my wine after swirling it around a little. The taste was pleasant, but it felt empty; I had long been waiting for the power of "King," but it didn't feel strong? What next?
If I conquer Tempest and become their ruler, I would be ascended to "Emperor," but will that be enough? I hardly doubt it. I need a more significant title! One that is recognized by the gods themselves! Yes! I must eventually become GOD! {Giggle}
"Your mood is better than last time. I already called for the lords of the wealthiest regions and prepared the chamber of messages for you to use." As expected of another reincarnation, Jaiden thought the same way I did. It is worrisome in some ways as I cannot fully trust him, but we have a truce for now, so I shouldn't be so suspicious all the time.
"Thank you. I will head to the comms right away. I have a message for the monkeys."
I wasted no more time; putting my wine down, I went to the comms room, where mages awaited my arrival. The room was a small room covered with special paneling around its walls. It looked like wool. It was this world's version of noise-damping panels.
Before me, there was a crystal ball that functioned as a camera lens and would transmit my image and audio across my kingdom as soon as I said: "Go." Right now, a royal congregation message was running before my speech.
Some of my maids quickly rushed toward me, putting makeup on my face to prevent me from looking too shiny, fixing my hair, and cleaning my clothes from any small stain or crum as others even brushed my teeth on the spot.

The monkey call was about to finish, so I readied myself with a fake smile, a fake goodwill accent, and an unsuitable friendly tone for the peasants. I needed them to conquer my enemies, so I would pretend to be their friend. What a fucking pain.
"Go."
The room's lights shone, and the room fell completely silent after I gave the command. The people were now watching and hearing me on their city streaming platform. The way the broadcast worked was quite ingenious.
Depending on the crystal balls' size, you could make a large or small pixelated hologram image of yourself. The sound echoed with the help of Batling technology installed in the more advanced lapis lazuli balls. The image worked with a series of droplet magic and light magic.
One ball would make a stationary droplet spell constantly fall on a bottom portal, which then teleported the same droplets to the top. The light magic would then strike the droplets with primitive RGB technology, making a rough, pixelated image of me.
"Citizens of Carthage, as many of you already know, the king and the queen are dead. I understand the panic many of you might feel but fear not. I, Julius Nova, will keep everything stable with your help." I had to be bold and direct with my following words.
"A change of perspective has arrived in the nation. It is time to go out with the old and slow-paced and replace it with you! I now call on everyone who thinks they have a unique talent to come to my doorstep!" I held back my true feelings for the speech's sake, just wanting to end it already.
"Race, age, gender, skin color, or status does not matter to me; if you have a skill in which you think you might be the best in the kingdom, I encourage you to come! Do not let anyone discourage you! If you think your skill is useful! Come, I will be the final judge, not your town bullies!"
The people's eyes filled with energy and drive, and they began cheering across the nation. They all bought my "Friend of the people" speech; how easy. I do not remember who, but I remember someone warning me if I ever heard, "I'm from the government, and I'm here to help." Glad nobody was that wise in this world.
The lights soon went off as I exited the room, having done my job as a master double-faced liar. My world's politicians would be lucky if they could keep a straight face while lying to themselves and the people around them. For me, though, it was a walk in the park. I'd do anything for power, ANYTHING. Even working with disgusting roaches if I have to.
