Chapter 24: I am never riding one of those again!

"I didn't want it to be like this, but it must be a hot escape! I'll ring the bell so the Frescoes people are ready to run. This town will be gone in the next wave, for sure." Thomas sounds serious as the few Imperial troops that got away soon mount horses to fall back, probably to call for backup.

"I suppose they've been preparing for my escape for long. Alright, Annabel, grab your bag and follow us. We have to get moving now!" Buster quickly sobers up and gets going, as does Thomas, who runs to the middle of town to ring a bell, causing panic among the dwarfs, who probably knew what the bell meant.

Since I didn't want Master Buster to get angry at me, I followed his orders, quickly picking up my travel bag to wait for him to be ready just seconds later. "Alright, all good?" Buster asks while looking at me and my travel bag behind me. "Yes"

"Come on then, Thomas has a Dragonaki Sled; it will let us gain some ground on those guys in horses," Buster says while walking outside. I followed him to the back of the dwarf's house to see what he meant by a 'Dragonaki,' which was a weird creature, to say the least.

The animal or beast referred to as a 'Dragonaki' didn't look anything like a dragon or a dinosaur at all; instead, this one looked more like a fucked up 'Vaporeon' from Pokemon. The only exception of the creature was its fur, which was very thick and soft to the touch, as well as its black skin below that white fur.

I wondered if the creature had enough strenght to pull the sled with someone like Buster in it. Still, the Dragonaki proved himself to me as he stood up, revealing he was about as massive as Buster with big muscular legs, unlike mine, which looked more like spaghetti sticks.

Man, I am seriously underpowered for this world; Buster is the only reason I am still alive; I'd be dead or worse if it weren't for him. Even in other light novels, the protagonist would be strong enough to defeat at least NPC troops and be on their way to defeat the demon king or something. Meanwhile, I keep getting bodied by everyone!

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

It's almost like I get undercut because I will be too strong once I reach peak power. At least, that's what I hope for, not that I want to be a weakling all the time. "Good job waking her up; now connect these ropes to her harness, Buster, and let's get going ASAP!"

Wait, wait, what? Did Thomas say what I think he said? The enormous powerful 'Dragonaki' was a chick!? Oh god, just how many steroids is he injecting her with? There was no way! "We are all good over here. Are you ready, Thomas? I am putting a lot of trust in you to remember how to use this freaky thing."

Buster seems a little nervous as Thomas reveals the size of the sled, which is barely big enough to fit everyone. "Who do you take me for?! Of course, I know how to drive this thing!" Thomas says while we all jump into the sled so we can start moving on it, and oh boy, was Bustern right about how terrifying it was to be on it.

"HOOOOLY SHIEEET!" "OH MY GAWD!" "YEAH!" Three distinct screams go out at once as the Dragonaki picks up crazy amounts of speed, going downhill at a rate that feels like it would kill us if we crashed. Buster and I held on to the sheld for dear life while Thomas seemed to be having the time of his life.

"What do you think of my Dragonaki?! Isn't she great! YEEEEHAW!" Thomas has the time to ask questions while all I can muster are pure screams of terror as the Dragonaki seems to be speeding up even faster than before; geez, we were probably going around 200 kilometers an hour at least!

[124 bald eagles per burger in murica terms]

At such a rate of speed, my cheeks move up and down with so much violence that my mouth sometimes opens by itself, letting a bunch of wind into it and shaking me a lot while I can barely see forward. Still, Thomas could see even without glasses or anything like that, which was weird!

"How do you even see forward!? I can't make out things ten meters away!" I turn my head around to look at Thomas, who casually answers me with something that terrifies me even more! "Who said I could see?! I can't see shit either! But I trust my creature!" What the hell was wrong with him? BAH!!

The ride on the sled was so abrupt and horrible that I started feeling like puking only a couple of minutes into it, but luckily for everyone, nothing came out when I did since I hadn't eaten anything yet. I can feel an intense pull to the left as the sled turns right, almost flinging me out if it weren't for Thomas, who grabs me tight.

"My gosh, you alright?" Thomas sarcastically asks me while I keep my hands on the rail before me, hanging onto it for dear life, for who knows how long it felt like an eternity before the Dragonaki stopped going so fast as the downhill ended.
