Chapter 67: Sirius Black(2)

Chapter 67: Sirius Black(2)

“S-Sirius, is that you?” Selene pointed at him with a shaky finger.

“How are you doing, Selene?” Sirius greeted her back.

“The dog was a homeless guy!” Harry exclaimed.

“Pfft~” Sol had a hard time holding back his laughter as Sirius shot him a look. He looked back and said, “Don’t mind me, I’ll just be in the other room; laughing my ass off!”

“Sol,” his mother looked at him, “language! And explain!”

“Sure,” Sol scratched his head and retold the events prior to now. Of course, he hid the fact about being an Animagi. Sirius had also noticed this but chose to say nothing about it.

After hearing everything, Selene sighed and looked at her husband, “Tom, come over here! He’s the one who saved you back then.”

Tom looked like he had finally reached a conclusion. He walked over to Sirius, scratched his head, and made some gestures.

“Uhh,” Sirius looked at Sol for a translation.

“Oh, right! Father thanked you!” Sol translated Tom’s gestures to Sirius.

“O-Oh, no worries,” Sirius said modestly, “I just did what I have to.” He turned around and looked at Selene, “Did the Cruciatus Curse do this to him?”

“It did more than that,” Selene said with some sadness in her eyes. “It put him in a coma for almost 11 years!”

“Just like the Longbottoms!” Sirius shook his head dejectedly.

“The Longbottoms?” Sol looked at him. “They’re fine as well!”

“What?” Sirius asked in surprise, “You’re serious?”

“Yup!” Sol nodded. “They came to the same day as my father.”

“That’s wonderful!” Sirius smiled. He looked genuinely happy.

“So, what will you do now?” Selene asked him.

“I have to get-”

Sol cut him off, “Do whatever you want tomorrow! Go to the washroom and clean yourself up!”

“Will you stop cutting me off?” Sirius complained.

“Yeah, I would if you didn’t look like a homeless guy; especially in front of your godson!”

“Right!” he looked at Harry who looked back at him. He seemed quite confused about this whole situation.

“Can I borrow your washroom then?” Sirius asked.

“Go ahead.”

After getting permission from Selene, Tom showed Sirius the washroom. In that while, Selene said, “Sol, give Sirius some of Tom’s old clothes, and then you can take him shopping for the essentials!”

“Sure,” Sol nodded and Selene headed upstairs.

Sol sat down on the sofa next to Harry and sighed heavily. The exhaustion from today’s events started getting to Sol.

“Tough day, was it?” Harry made small talk.

“Tell me about it!”

“But you finally met your godfather, no?”

“What?” Sol looked at him strangely. “He’s not my godfather. He’s your godfather!”

“What?” the sudden shock dumbfounded Harry.

“Yeah!” Sol nodded.

“But then where was he all these years and why does he look so worn out?”

“He was in Azkaban.”

“Azkaban!” Harry stood up and looked at him in utter shock.

“It’s not what you’re thinking,” Sol shook his head. “Aside from actual criminals, people who get framed are also thrown in there.”

“Then do you mean to say he was framed?”

“That does seem to be the case! But we’ll only know after hearing him out!”

“I-I see,” it seemed Harry hadn’t quite gotten over his shock.

“Well, you could ask him about how your parents were like when they were in Hogwarts! He was a good friend of your father’s!”

“Really?” his eyes lit up.

“Really.”

As they talked a bit more, the doorbell rang.

“One sec!” Sol got up from the sofa and went to the door. He opened the door, “Yes?”

Looking at the person standing in front of him, Sol’s pupils constricted. A picture from the Daily Prophet came to mind as he looked at the person in front of him.

“How are you doing, Mr. Balor? I’m Cornelius Fudge, the Minister of Magic!” Fudge introduced himself.

Sol smiled and looked humbled, “I wonder what the esteemed Minister is doing at our home?”

“Haha!” Fudge laughed heartily, “Quite the smooth-talker, aren’t you boy?” He slowly stopped laughing, “I’m here for Harry Potter!”

“Well, he’s right here!” Sol held the door wide open. “Please do come in, Minister!” The hospitable smile never left his face.

“Pardon my intrusion then!” taking the invite, Fudge walked into the house and looked at the living room where Harry was. “Ah, Mr. Harry Potter! Just the man I needed to see!”

“H-Hello!” Harry stood up and greeted him. “You are?”

“Cornelius Fudge, Minister of Magic!”

“Oh, good day Minister! Is there something you need of me?”

“Ah yes!” Fudge finally remembered why he came here. He looked at Harry and said, “As Minister of Magic, it is my duty to inform you that, Mr. Potter, that earlier this evening your uncle’s sister was located a little south of Sheffield, circling a chimney stack.

The Accidental Magic Reversal Department was dispatched immediately. She has been properly punctured and her memory modified. She will have no recollection of the incident whatsoever. So that’s that and no harm done!”

As Fudge went on his tangent, Sol quietly went upstairs and looked for Sirius. The sound of the shower was still coming from the bathroom. He knocked on the door.

“What?” Sirius yelled from the other side.

“Make more noise, why don’t you?” Sol grumbled. “The Minister of Magic is here!”

The shower stopped and after a series of hurried footsteps, a large thud, and a cry of pain, Sirius opened the door with a panicked face, “What?”

“Good to know that you’re still wearing your rags,” Sol remarked.

“Is this the time, boy!?” Sirius reprimanded him. “Should I escape from the window?”

“What? No!” Sol shot that idea down. “Just come with me!”

He quickly led Sirius into his room.

“What now?” Sirius asked.

“Turn into a dog and hide under the bed!” Sol pointed to an opening under his bed.

“Will that work?” he hesitantly asked.

“Do you want to go with Fudge then?”

“No…”

“Then less talk and more dog!” Sol forcefully spoke. After that, he turned around and looked at Iris, “Iris, sleep!”

Hearing his command, Iris curled up in her tank and closed her eyes as she ‘slept’. By then, Sirius had turned into a dog and squeezed under the bed.

Sol opened the door and went to his parent's room. Inside Selene and Tom were lying on the bed. When she saw Sol, Selene asked, “Who was at the door, dear?”

“The damn Minister of Magic!” Sol replied hastily.

“What?” her face paled. “Is he here for Sirius?”

“No, he’s here for Harry!”

“What did you do to Sirius?”

“I told him to hide.”

“Where?”

“In my room!” Sol stopped and asked, “Can you stop this and go greet the Minister?”

“Oh, right!” Selene got up and went downstairs followed by Sol. Downstairs, he caught Fudge saying, “-are your new schoolbooks. I took the liberty of having them brought here for you!” Fudge pointed at the stack of thick books on the table.

“Ah, Selene!” when Fudge saw Selene come down the stairs, he greeted her enthusiastically.

“Minister Fudge!” she humbly returned the greeting.

“Won’t you come back to work?” Fudge asked.

“My husband is back in tiptop shape so, I don’t need to!” Selene smiled happily.

“Yes, that’s wonderful!” Fudge politely congratulated her.

After a few more polite words, Selene asked, “Would you like to stay for dinner?”

“I’m afraid not!” Fudge shook his head. “The Ministry still has a lot of work that needs my attention; some other time!”

“I see…” Selene’s voice trailed off. “Then, we’ll see you later.”

“Yes,” Fudge made his way to the door. He looked back and waved, “Farewell, Mr. Balor and Mr. Potter!”

“Goodbye, Minister!” they both replied in unison.

In front of their eyes, the Minister disapparated from the spot! After a while, both Selene and Sol sighed in relief as they crashed on the sofa.

“That got my heart going!” Selene remarked.

“What did Fudge want to see you for?” Sol asked Harry.

“I accidentally blew up my uncle’s sister,” Harry explained what happened. “He warned me about Sirius Black and brought me my schoolbooks!”

“That’s great!”

“Where’s Sirius?” Selene looked around.

“Right!” Sol got up and brought Sirius downstairs.

“Is he gone?” Sirius looked around warily.

“He’s gone!”

“Phew!” Sirius heaved a sigh of relief as well.

“Go take another shower!”

“Yeah, that’s a good idea!” Sirius looked at the rags he was wearing and went upstairs.

“Mom, can bring him the change of clothes?” Sol asked his mom.

“Fine, then set the table!”

“I will!” Sol nodded and watched his mother go upstairs.

“Sol,” Harry called him.

“Yeah?” he turned around.

“Did you happen to know that Sirius would come to me?”

“No.”

“Then why were you outside?”

“Oh, I just went to…the…library…” his words became slower as his face fell. He just remembered something very important,

“…fuck! My notes!”
