“Play!”
“Play!”
“Play!’
How did this happen?
I’m currently in front of the room. Today I’m here to get a guitar. I stand in front of the wall on the 7th floor. I paced back and forth thinking hard about what I want.
I want a guitar.
I want a guitar
I want a guitar.
This really doesn’t feel good. I feel like a child throwing a tantrum. But if I get what I want then it’s all fine. Soon a familiar set of doors appear. I head in only to see a sight that shocks me. There are mountains and mountains of piled-up guitars.
Damn! How many guitars are here? Rather how many people lost their guitars?
There are an ungodly amount of guitars. Although most of them are either broken or have their strings missing. Well, I don’t care since I can just use it Reparo or transfigure the strings for them.
I searched around for an hour or so before I finally found a guitar that strikes my fancy. It was an Acacia-colored guitar. This one only had one of its strings missing, that was really good considering the others. I take it out of its pile and then quickly dust it off. I head out of that room with the guitar, satisfied.
I head back to the common room to get the pack of string that is left in my bag. I come in front of the portrait of the fat lady and say the password. The door opens up and I head in with the guitar in my hands. To get to my room I had to pass the common rooms. As I went through the common room, Fred and George were very sitting on the sofa.
“Oi Sol! Where are you going?”, Fred turns his head.
“Going to get some string to fix the guitar.”
“Huh? You know how to play the guitar?”, asked George.
“I do.”
“So, are you going to-“
“-play some songs for us?”
“Why would I do that?”
Both of them start begging me.
“We both knew you could play the flute-“
“-but who knew you could also, play the guitar? Come on Sol, play some songs for us.”
“Please.”, both of them had puppy-dog eyes.
“No.”
They whined, “Why not?”
Hearing their whines, Angelica, Katie, and Lee came towards.
“Why are the two of you annoying Sol for?”, Angelica reprimanded.
Kate wanted to tell them off as well but her attention was drawn to my guitar, “Hey Sol, what’s that guitar for?”
“Nothing, I’m just going to fix it up.”
“Fix it up and then play us a song.”, Fred chimed.
“You know how to play the guitar?”, Alicia was surprised.

“I do,” I shift the guitar from one hand to another, “But I can’t play this one as it’s missing a string.”
“Fix it and then play us a song.”, Lee adds.
“Play!”
“Play!”
“Play!”
Fred and George start hollering and Lee joins in. Alicia and Kate also joining whereas Angelica is just shaking her head. Soon after, many more students come to see the commotion. They seemed to have been swept by the atmosphere and started attracting more people. Which resulted in the entirety of the Gryffindor students present in the common room to start cheering me to play.
“Play!”
“Play!”
“Play!”
What a pain... Fine, I’ll play one for them. It is the last month before the exams after all.
“Okay! I get it. I’ll play one. Just let me fix the guitar. I have to go get my st-“
“Here you go, ” Cormac handed a pack of string. This was my spare from my bag.
I was clearly appalled at his action of going through my bag, “You... forget it.” I quickly wave it off. I use transfigure two of the spare violin strings into a longer, thicker guitar string. I sit down on the sofa and start fixing the guitar.
I declare, “Just one song.”
“Hurray!”
“Yeah!”
“Haha!”
The room becomes filled with explosive cheers. After I finish fixing and tuning the guitar, “I’m starting.”
The noise quickly died down and soon sounds from the guitar could be heard.
Life
After I stopped, I felt somewhat pleased that I could finally play some new songs. So much so, that I went back to our room without caring what the others were doing.
The common room was silent for a long time even after I finished. Later, someone broke from his daze only to ask, “Holy shit! What was that?”
As soon as he said that, the others started moving and murmuring amongst themselves. Yet, all of them had one question:
Who was that woman?
Later, they'd ask me this question several times, but they'd never get an answer.
As not even I knew who she was.

The Great Hall
All the students were ecstatic. Their exams had just ended and now Hogwarts as per year held a huge feast to commemorate it.
I was sitting with Cormac and Kate on the Gryffindor's table. Both Cormac and Kate were jumping up and down with joy. If one would look at them now, they wouldn’t even think that these two people were having sleepless nights before the exams. No, seriously, they looked terrible. They had some serious eye bags. Their first exams scared them enough to accompany me to the library.
But, I have to say, when I look at them frantically studying, I too got somewhat swept up in the atmosphere. I mean that’s fine and all, studying extra well for the exams never hurt anyone. However, at least to me, studying for this kind of exam held no merit. There were only two thoughts in my mind when I finished all of them.
Wow, why did I even study?
And,
I didn’t do too well, right?
The exams were surprisingly easy. I mean it’s like giving a high schooler some kindergarten questions. There really was no difficulty. Though the question patterns were somewhat unexpected. Apart from History Of Magic, all the other exams were practical but Herbology and Astronomy didn’t have exams at all.
Charms exams taken by Professor Flitwick were very easy. All we had to do was to peel a mango with magic. But why is this a test? I can do this in my sleep. I almost wanted to beat Cormac up when I heard him say that the Charms exam was a ‘bit tough'.
Transfiguration exam had us transfigure a mouse into a goblet. That’s fine I guess. I have seen many students fail this one in classes. Though I did flub a bit in the classes, I didn’t dare to do so in the exams. Since I didn’t really understand how we were going to be graded, I just did it without trying to blend in.
History Of Magic exam was really unremarkable. Professor Binns just had an hour-long session with every student, discussing the ways of the dao inception of the self-stirred cauldron.
The only grievance I had was with the Potions exam. No, it wasn’t that Professor Snape asked hard questions. It’s how he asked them. The question he asked was to recite the recipe for the Forgetfulness potion. But for some reason, he was breathing down everyone's necks as we said it. Even mine. The situation was very eye-opening for me. If I had to compare it, the whole experience was like someone asking you to pole dance but there was no pole and he was forcing you to do the dance on him. Very awkward.
After all the exams were over and we started to chat in the common room, I soon became very depressed. Apparently, Kate and Cormac had failed once or twice in an exam but they were pardoned.
W-What?
And hearing them talk, it seemed like the professors were somewhat expecting this to happens.
No...
Why doesn’t anything go my way? Forget it, I’ll surely be incognito next year. At least that’ll give them the illusion that I was only good in my first year and was having problems in my second year.
Our summer vacation will be starting in three days. And I’m somewhat excited to be honest as my mother, would give birth any second now. I’ll finally get a baby sister. I swear to God I’ll dote on her like no tomorrow.
I also have a plethora of lullabies I can sing to her. I’ll have her grow up loving music like me. As for magic, since I’m here I’ll train her enough so that she can defend herself. Though I don’t think she’ll need it. After all...
...Voldemort is already dead.
