Everyone except the first years was inside the great hall. They were merrily chatting and joking around. On the Gryffindor's table, Sol sat beside Katie and Cormac and talked to the Weasley twins who were in front of him. The new second years were talking amongst themselves as well as the professors minus Professor McGonagall. Harry and Ron were there as well. Sol wasn't surprised but still asked what happened. They told him that after being found by Ron's parents, they were too late to board the train and thus had to ask the Headmaster to apparate the two into the school. Sol found it plausible as none but the Headmaster could apparate in or out of Hogwarts.
Though Sol looked like he was having fun, he was actually thinking of how to deal with the reincarnator as well as how he reincarnated.
"No, no, you're going to get into the Quidditch team this year."
I at least had the help from the laws.
"Haha! Me too, man, me too."
Is this fucker just a master of disguise?
"You're parents promised now, did they?"
Should I consider him an enemy?
His thoughts did not match up to what he was saying. As all this was going on, the doors to the great hall suddenly flew open, and Professor McGonagall came in leading the group of first years. Everyone turned their attention to them as Professor McGonagall lead them to the Sorting Hat sitting on a wooden stool. Sol had his eyes glued to the reincarnator as he saw him looking at the tattered and dirty witch's hat with sparkling eyes.
...sparkling eyes? Sol was stunned. He narrowed his eyes and looked again if he was mistaken. He really was looking at the hat with sparkling eyes.
What's with the sparkles? What's with his excitement? That hat is just a mid-level enchanted item...
...wait just a fucking second! No...let's not jump to conclusions. I should observe him some more.
After making his decision, Sol resumed watching him again. Professor McGonagall went up to the Sorting Hat and told them the rules like every year. Then one by one, she called the names of the first years who would come up, sit on the stool and wear the hat. There was an equal number of students sorted to each house this year. Ginny was sorted to Gryffindor though this wasn't shocking news. Amidst the applause and Sorting Hat's shouts, Professor McGonagall called out, "Creevey, Colin!"
Sol looked even more carefully, it was the reincarnator! He looked stunned upon hearing his name. He still had excitement in his eyes but he tried to calm himself down and approach the Sorting Hat with a calm face. He sat upon the stool as Professor McGonagall put the hat on his head, his expression betraying his intention.
"Hey, hey, Hermione look! It's that boy!" Katie started teasing Hermione.
"Gosh, stop it! I barely know him!" Hermione tried to shoo away Katie but to no avail.

"Hey, maybe if he gets sorted into Gryffindor you'll get to know him even better!"
And as if the Sorting Hat had heard what she said, it shouted, "GRYFFINDOR!!"
Everyone on the Gryffindor started applauding as they received the newest addition to their house. Katie was a bit stunned but soon she giggled and clapped as well. Hermione glared at her. She turned her attention to Colin but soon blushed as Katie's words swirled in her head. Sol was the only one who didn't clap. His expression was riddled with confusion. But soon the confusion was replaced with a smile on his face. It felt especially evil.

After they ate, the students returned back to their common rooms led by prefects.
"Sol, what happened?" Katie looked at Sol who had a helpless look on his face.
He looked at her before sighing, "Nothing, just tired."
"Is it the same thing as that time on the train?"
"No, nothing serious," Sol shook his head, "Just feels like I've used my head too much."
"You using your head too much is the best joke I've heard all day," Cormac laughed.
"It does seem a bit unbelievable," Katie covered her mouth as she laughed as well.
Sol was rendered speechless, "Just what do you think of me?" He waved his hands in front of them, "I'm human, you know?"
Upon hearing that Katie and Cormac looked at each other before saying in unison, "Are you?"
Sol looked at them in disbelief as the other two broke out into laughter. In reality, Sol felt a bit exhausted as the entire time they were eating Colin kept staring a hole into him as well as constantly talking to Harry, Ron, and Hermione. He felt that the latter of those was especially weird of course gazing oh so intensely at a stranger you've never met before is weird as well but in this case, Sol knew that he was under suspicion. But why did he kept talking to Harry and Ron with a look of admiration whilst talking with Hermione with a look of both admiration and affection? Sol kept on thinking about this during the feast and concluded that the reincarnator knew the three. Sol also noticed that Colin never said a word about the three's exploits last year. Especially when the other first years kept singing their praises. Granted, they had very little to do with what happened last year. But the masses knew otherwise. He had asked the Headmaster to give his credit to the three and that's exactly what happened. Colin not bringing this up meant that he didn't view this as particularly surprising or impressive. But which one?
Either one would mean a vastly different thing. If he didn't feel it to be surprising then that meant that Colin knew they could do it. Because the news of three first years killing a Hogwarts professor and protecting the Philosopher's stone was surprising no matter who you told it to. Of course except for those who knew about it beforehand. This would mean Colin was a reincarnator with knowledge of the plot. But if it didn't feel impressive enough to him, then that would mean he has seen worse. As to how much worse is up to debate. Then this means he is from at least a peak low-level magic-based world.
Sol shook his head as he entered the common room. He felt like there was a flaw in his logic like he was missing something or looking at it from a wrong angle. But as of now, he had no substantial lead and all he could do was keep observing Colin Creevey until he found out what kind of reincarnator he was.
Determination appeared in Sol's eyes. He already knew what to do. If Colin Creevey was someone with knowledge of the plot then he will extract that knowledge from him and then exterminate him. And if he was someone like Sol then it is more apparent what needs to be done. Regardless of what Colin Creevey is, He. Will. Kill. Him.

At night, everyone went to their rooms and changed to their pajamas. Cormac looked at Sol, "Ready for a new year?"
"Ready as I'll ever be," Sol replied with a smile.
"Come on then. Let's head to bed."
"You go ahead. I'll do some light reading."
"Weren't you tired just a bit ago?"
"Yeah, so?"
Cormac looked at Sol in disbelief before shaking his head, "Nevermind."
"Just go to sleep." The two then went into their beds and turned off the lights. After all the students were asleep, Sol took his wand out.
Lumos!
A small orb of light appeared on the tip of Sol's wand, casting enough light to illuminate a small space in front of him. Under the dim light, he brought out Tom Riddle's diary and began writing.
