As he walked, Wu Guang made a quick detour to the inner circle cafeteria which was the only place that would sell food at this hour to quickly and cheaply eat. After that, he continued towards the main plaza and reaching it, entered his destination. The Herbs and Medicine halls store on the first floor was unchanged, but this time his destination was the second floor, to which only inner circle disciples or above could enter.
His objective was to buy some low-quality qi replenishment pills for both training and his next missions.
Before, he got several or to be exact five Spirit level pills of this sort from Elder Chen, but they were of medium quality and so should be kept for emergencies. Thankfully such pills were the easiest to make and were always present so without any trouble, he bought ten of them. The price was pretty steep as it was 20 contribution points per pill, but considering that the only pill master on the island was the one who made them, it was understandable.
The matter about the island only having one pill master was a bit strange, as in truth pills were pretty common in the plane if judging from the fact that potions were already forgotten and basic medicine was considered not so effective even in the sect books.
But after some thought, Wu Guang came to the conclusion that most probably the pill masters in the plane preferred to live, work or serve in better areas and under the wing of powerful powers. Such a thing was logical as not only a pill master required resources but also expected a good payment - and obviously, powers like the Eagle Kingdom or the Flaming Sun Sect would provide far better in both categories.
A low-quality qi replenishment pill was expected to replenish half of the qi capacity of a cultivator in ten minutes while the middle quality would do the same but required less than half the time. So for training and recuperation, Wu Guang decided to go with the lower and cheaper pills. In his own calculations his qi would be replenished for about a fifth as not only his capacity was around three times bigger but his pathways and meridians were far over the size, quantity, and quality expected from a Spirit realm cultivator. Still, he should be able to sustain the 'Flaming Armor' for all the ten hours without issue if he took a pill every hour after the fifth.
With this preparation done, Wu Guang quickly reached the room or cell he trained in and proceeded to. For today his main objective was the 'Flaming Armor' and considering his previous failed attempt, he had formulated a new strategy, implemented right from the start.
And so for three hours, Wu Guang maintained the 'Flaming Armor' at max potency while slowly moving up in the pressure levels. Such a way was far slower than the one he had attempted previously. But at the same time it was mostly safe and in the end, lead towards the same result. The latter being to resist the maximum amount of pressure without disappearing. Granted, the pressure and real attacks were a bit different and so he could not really know how much the armor was improved in comparison to an untrained one.
Still, mastery was mastery and so in any case his defense would be better than if he did not train it at all.
Reaching the 50th level took Wu Guang five hours in total and he was surprised to find that either he had accustomed himself to the pressure or the armor had improved far quicker than he expected, as when he activated the increase, the armor easily resisted the spike in pressure. It did consume over two times more qi, but still, not having any other issues than an increased consumption was a far better result than the expected one. Especially if compared to the fact that it was almost instantly dispelled and used up about a tenth of Wu Guang's qi during the process yesterday.
After confirming that the increase in resistance came from the 'Flaming Armor' Wu Guang considered his objective reached and thought about how to spend the next hours. It was not that there was no way to utilize the pressure, but for Wu Guang right now most of them would be either inefficient or dangerous. Still, after thinking about it, he decided to go with a slightly dangerous way of tempering, but which in case of success would give him an enormous advantage when facing Soul realm cultivators. Simply said it was to accustom his body to resist pressure or if differently worded, to temper his bare body.

It was a bit dangerous as it could provoke injuries if his calculations were wrong, but Wu Guang had faith in his experience and so decided to go with it. In any case, for reasons of safety, he started doing so from the 10th level of qi pressure and not from the 20th as he first calculated.
The process itself was pretty basic and only entailed moving and acting under the pressure without using any qi to protect oneself. And so for the four and half hours Wu Guang walked, ran, jumped, trained with the saber, and even used a bit of 'Flaming Fist' and 'Flaming Kick'. All this while slowly but steadily increasing the level and resisting the pressure that meant to hinder and restrain him.
He did use a few of pills during the process as he trained with qi techniques and found out that the effect was worse than he expected. A single pill only recovered one-tenth of his qi capacity and took over fifteen minutes to do so, and so he concluded that the pills were absolutely not useful to him during fights.
When he left the room after the ten hours he was in far better condition than the day before and had reached a point of resisting all the levels under the 39th without spending any qi except for inner circulation.
There was also a small change to his path today, as before returning to the residence or even leaving the 'Discipline Court' Wu Guang visited the room where the elder in charge of the training had received him. Regretfully he found the room closed and so could not confirm if he could receive the special pressure training from a Soul realm expert, which he was actually really looking forward to, as rune generated pressure was far easier to resist than a real aura.
In any case, as the elder was not present, Wu Guang concluded that if he could, he would try to find him tomorrow. If that was not possible, then he would continue his tempering of the skin and try to achieve the maximum level of pressure without having to defend himself with qi.
There were a couple of hours before dinner left when he reached the residence and so Wu Guang decided to spend them training the three weapon manuals he had in his possession.
It wasn't something he currently required, but such training would be beneficial in any case and so he separated the time in three and trained the saber 'Sandstorm', sword 'Hurricane Edge' and glaive 'Cleaving the Mountain'. Speaking of the latter, Wu Guang had managed to perfect the movements shown in the manual he got from the Martial Palace Master and could actually show them as to receive the next manual, but he still did not understand how to find the Palace Master as their status was too different for him to simply stride into the Palace and ask for him.
Unknown to Wu Guang until the last moment, it turned out that the dinner was canceled as Kuang Jing and Wei were preparing for their respective 3rd and 4th level breakthrough. Wu Guang found this to be good, albeit he still did not understand why Yuan Taoutu waited until the last minute to inform him about such. In any case, they quickly ate, and for the first time in days both went to sleep.
As Wu Guang was falling asleep he decided to tomorrow try and investigate why the container and vials that were supposed to be delivered to the residence in three days had still not appeared today, the sixth day. Until now he hadn't thought about it as he was occupied. But now that he was supposed to go and receive the special arrows, he would use the opportunity to ask about his first request. After all, he doubted that they could have forgotten about delivering it to him.
