Port District I

The Port district or West Pearl City was enormous. Although its real population hardly exceeded thirty thousand people, even if separated from the Coastal Hill City's other two districts it was by far the biggest city on the island.

It occupied territory comparable to at least three Boundary Hill Cities. In contrast, the wall around the city was mostly for show as it hardly was taller than a dozen feet. Although this was understandable, after all, the harbor could not be walled anyway, and in case of a land-based attack, the attackers would need to cross two far more serious rings before arriving at this point.

The Pearl character in the real name of the city referred to the fact that the entire city was white. It was not only built of white stone, but even the roof tiles over the buildings were of white color. They were made of a special material that normally appeared white but reflected almost the full specter of colors under sunlight.

As for low population, these thirty thousand were full-time residents, but during peak trade, the number of people staying in the city would easily surpass a full hundred thousand.

The gate leading into the district was wide open and no checks were made, after all, to arrive here one would have already be checked twice. Not even guards stood at the sides as one would expect, they simply overlooked the situation from a small roofed booth located past the gate.

The caravan passed the gates while surrounded by a fair amount of carts, people, and other caravans. This was unsurprising, after all, the Autumn Riches would start tomorrow. And the latter was by far the main trading event on the island. During a full week, bazaars, markets, and auction houses would be flooded with the best merchandise from the three islands and so almost every merchant or cultivator tried to attend.

Such a huge amount of people also led to people hoarding their treasures until the start of this week and so, the main objective of real experts were the auction houses. There were six of such present inside the district, but the most important was the Wei Auction House. The latter was famous not only on Half-Island but also in the surrounding zone. So even some ship captains that managed to obtain something rare, tried to sell it through the Wei family that ran it.

Obviously, with such amount of people, inns and other places to stay prices were very steep and even so were almost entirely occupied. Thankfully, as one of the main powers on the island, the Sect owned a manor in the city, which was the first destination of the caravan.

The Sect's manor was called 'Three Waves' and was located in the most prestigious zone of the district, the Finger Cape. This cape overlooked the gulf and the harbor, so to reach it one would need to cross the entire district.

The caravan moved steadily alongside the flow of people on the main street. The street was already packed with stalls and almost every shop or restaurant had at least a crier or a few people trying to invite the passersby. In such a bustling place and atmosphere one could not expect to meet trouble, but somehow Wu Guang and the Caravan did.

"Oia? If it isn't the mighty 'Three Hills Sect'. I wonder, what geniuses have come to grace us with their presence" Such exclamation was made by a young voice. And from the contents, one would be sure that he wanted to create trouble. After all, it was a known fact that rarely someone above the lower inner disciples accompanied caravans.

"Hehe, Master Wang, how could this trash be geniuses. They are simply some trash that even their sect considers as such" Seemingly bootlicking the person that exclaimed another voice sounded.

"No, no, look even an elder is driving the horses while these mighty geniuses walk with no care" The first voice continued

When they entered the Black district, the Caravan had changed their formation and so Wu Guang and his team were walking before it while the 3rd cart now was the 1st one, and indeed, was driven by Elder Di.

Wu Guang was ignoring the commentaries and he motioned to the rest to do the same. First, he simply did not feel the need to lower himself to such. And secondly, Elder Mo had covered this during the instructions, that unless provoked hard, they would better stay low-profile. After all, Wu Guang was acting as bait and so needed to look like easy prey.

"See, they even don't pay attention to us. Seems that they are real geniuses, or at least conceited as them" The first voice added mockingly

"Hey, trash! Master Wang is speaking to you. Why the hell are you not stopping and paying your respects?" The second voice followed

Only after this, Wu Guang turned towards the source of the voices.

He found out that both voices originated from a pair dressed in the green colors of the 'Leaf Shadows Sect'.

The first one was a youngster a year or so older than Wu Guang. The colors of his robes were dark green and so indicated that he was a core disciple of the sect. He had similar stature to Wu Guang and in terms of looks, the former was far above. Indeed one could only describe him as handsome. Still, the expression of absolute conceitment and the attitude of looking down on everyone was plastered across his entire being. A faint air of blood was also present and so anyone could determine that this fellow was not good.

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

As for the other one, he was ugly and older. His robes also were of a lighter green, indicating his status as an inner disciple of the 'Leaf Shadows Sect'.

"Excuse me, none of us speaks dog, so how could I know that you were talking to us?" After looking at them and confirming their identities as disciples Wu Guang said.

In truth, he wasn't initially intending to offend, but a qi transmission from Elder Di reached him at the moment, and so he spoke without restraint. The transmission was simple "Don't let them look down at you. I will take responsibility for anything"

"Hah? Mere trash dares to speak back to a Master Wang?" The bootlicking inner disciple flared up.

"Hoh, Master Wang? So master, why is your dog barking?" Wu Guang fully ignored the inner disciple and looking straight at this Master Wang asked. His tone was so mocking and vile that in truth the words master sounded more like profanity.

"You!!!" After being ignored and called a dog the inner disciple's face turned red. Seemingly from anger or to gain points before the core disciple, he rushed forward.

Wu Guang had checked his opponent's cultivation beforehand, so he knew that the inner disciple was by far weaker than him. Not only he was only on the 2nd level of the Spirit realm, but even his movements showed a total lack of battle experience.

As for Master Wang, the latter was an 8th level Spirit realm cultivator. Granted, such cultivation could be considered impressive for someone about 15 years old, but in Wu Guang's eyes, it was too low as to be called a genius. Even if judging by the standards of the 'Three Hills Sect', after all, the Elite disciples of the palaces which were equivalent to a core disciple of the 'Leaf Shadows Sect' were all advanced Spirit realm cultivators. Their ages varied, but Wu Guang had already checked the ratings a few times and he knew that at least three of the top10 on the Elite Board were younger than 18.

As Wu Guang's opponent rushed towards him intending to punch him, the latter did not show any reaction. In fact, he did not act until his opponent's fist had practically landed on him. At that moment, Wu Guang half turned to avoid the punch and when his opponent's body aligned with Wu Guang's leg, kicked him with full strength.

"Aiiiihhh...." With a pained shout, the Leaf Shadows disciple heavily fell on the road after sliding a few feet to the side.

Awakening one's consciousness meant full control over one's internal qi, and so Wu Guang could infuse qi into any part of his body to strengthen it far more than the now natural strength of 10 mortals he had. And this was what he did while kicking.

"You!!! You bastard broke my leg!!!!!" Pale from the pain and from the humiliation of being down in a single strike, Wu Guang's opponent shouted

"Shut up. You attacked brother Wu first. I don't know from where you got your confidence, but trash like you isn't even worthy of a single strike!" Kuang Jing who had not acted or spoken by Wu Guang's instructions rebuked. And as he spoke walked towards the downed guy and kicked him in the face.

Kuang Jing had not used much force, but still, blood flowed from the Leaf Shadows disciple as he shouted

"Master Wang!!!"

"It seems that this young master will need to involve himself" As he spoke these words the one referred to as Master Wang who had fully ignored the previous actions of his follower smirked.

Wu Guang naturally did not fear someone of such cultivation, but as he could not show his abilities, he was restrained in the number of actions he could take. Still, he was sure of his ability to take out his opponent even without relying on his ace cards. After all, weapons and techniques usage was forbidden inside the city, and so they could at a max fight with bare fists. Considering that Wu Guang's senses and reactions were far above even Sage realm cultivators, how could he lose in such combat?

So when this Wang surnamed core disciple attacked him, Wu Guang did not avoid confrontation. In turn, he even walked forward.

In a brief moment, a few dozens of punches and kicks were traded, and surprisingly no one obtained an advantage. Wu Guang could easily overpower his opponent as their strength was almost equal, but he could not show such ability yet, so he concentrated on maintaining a stalemate.

"You! Your combat skills are decent, but you are far from this young master. Prepare to be beaten!" Although 'young master' as he referred to himself exclaimed such, he was by far not sure of being able to do as he said. He was the one trading blows with Wu Guang after all, and he felt that it was not that they were equal... But that Wu Guang was restraining himself!

"Stop right there!" Suddenly a commanding shout was heard.

Behind the shout strands of aura could be felt, so someone at least at the Soul realm cultivation had arrived.
