Discipline Palace Master

Discipline Palace Master

Acting as planned while falling asleep the previous night, Wu Guang first visited the Refining and Rune halls shop. Thankfully it did not take him long to find out that the items were finished and simply could not be delivered yet because there was no one at his residence.

Hearing this, Wu Quang was a bit surprised as Yuan Taotu supposedly had been spending the last few days inside, but he could not guarantee it and so simply thanked the counter disciple for the information and asked if he could receive them right now.

Such was possible as if the item was not delivered, it would be returned to the store. So after a brief wait, Wu Guang received the container for the orb and all the vials he had requested. the arrows were part of another request and were waiting for him to come and receive them, so again without any issues, he was presented with them and after checking, Wu Guang stored them into his pouch as well.

After thanking the disciple and an elder that came out to confirm the fact, Wu Guang left the store and moved towards the 'Discipline Court'.

Before starting to train he visited the room where the supervising elder was supposed to be and this time did encounter the room open. Still, the person that was inside was by far not the elder that he expected to meet and so Wu Guang could only bow in a formal salute while waiting to be allowed to speak. Such behavior could be seen as strange, but that would be only if one ignored the person facing Wu Guang, none other than Master Sikou, the Discipline Palace Master.

"Hmm? If I am not mistaken, you are Wu Guang" Master Sikou voice and tone could be described as calm or even easy-going, but somehow even such a manner hinted that the master was not someone with whom an enjoyable conversation could be held. In truth there was nothing strange about this, after all, the Discipline Palace Master was also the main judge and interrogator of the Sect. At least officially.

"Yes, Palace Master. This disciple is indeed Wu Guang"

"No need for much formality, I dislike it and consider that respect and status should be separated. Are you here to look for elder Kong?"

"Yes. I wanted to ask about the 4th-day special training he mentioned"

"I see. It seems the elder had the same idea as if I am not mistaken he went towards 'Heavy' Six room"

"Thank you. May I take my leave then?"

"Go"

"Again thank you and accept my excuses for disrupting Palace Master" Wu Guang did not feel the need to excuse himself, but still, manners indicated that he was indeed wrong to barge without waiting to be called into. Although in this case he was excused as he did not know about who was inside the room, the fact of who was it almost automatically made anyone more respectful and so Wu Guang decided to follow this mass manner of conduct.

Elder Kong was indeed inside the room that Wu Guang had occupied for the last three days. And after the greetings, the reason for it was revealed. Seemingly the pressure in the room was supposed to only reach the 49th level, but as Wu Guang did not tell anyone about what level he reached, the elder only found out about the fact when he checked the qi usage. The reason for such a check was obviously to determine who would participate in the special training. One could only imagine the elder's surprise when he discovered that Wu Guang had spent about ten hours under the 50th level. Which as he had guessed before was really equivalent to a Sage realm aura.

After such an explanation Wu Guang still did not understand why the elder was present in the room and so decided to ask directly.

"Well, mistake aside you still managed to resist a Sage realm aura so you should be considered as the best candidate for the special training. So... I will be providing it as I am a Soul realm cultivator" Elder Kong's answer was short but even so Wu Guang noted that it sounded a bit nervous.

And in truth, Elder Kong had reasons indeed to be nervous. And such reasons would apply to anyone if they were just a few minutes ago been scolded by Master Sikou, who had found that someone, by some reason, had let a disciple be endangered inside the building. Normally such would be nothing serious as some disciplinary processes would be far more... dangerous. But because the disciple was here voluntarily and on training, it was utterly unacceptable. Sincerely Master Sikou would not even think about the matter anyway, but this disciple being Wu Guang changed everything. Still, as he could not give such a reason, he went with the most logical one of endangering a good disciple without need.

This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it.

"I see. Then, thank you for the instruction elder"

"No, no, I as an elder am supposed to help disciples during their training after all"

Wu Guang felt that something was off but anyway such training was extremely beneficial for him and after confirming that the elder would control his aura until he was ready, the training started.

Maintaining an aura was not very costly in terms of qi, but still, after they finished elder Kong was practically bare of qi. Which was very noticeable in contrast to Wu Guang, who was practically brimming with energy. Normally such should be nonsense, but thanks to Wu Guang last training of resisting the pressure without protecting himself, his body was tempered enough to be unaffected by most of the elder's aura, especially as the elder was only a beginner Soul realm cultivator and so his aura was about the same strength as the 30th or 31st pressure level. Granted, the aura was far more effective as it was willed by a cultivator, but still, even if it arrived from all sides and had no weaknesses, Wu Guang could simply shrug off most of the restriction and continue moving. And he did move a lot, after all the best tempering came from actively moving and training while under suppression.

"Elder, thank you for the instruction. I will then take my leave" Wu Guang bowed and saluted while saying this and quickly left the building. His mood was great as he not only managed to temper his body and improve his qi control but also reached a state in which his inner qi could resist most of the effect and did not require more than a few occasional willed circulations to naturally circulate. The latter could sound a bit strange to someone who never had been under the effect of such pressure or aura, but basically, the concentration and qi spent to manually or willingly circulate would extremely worsen one fighting prowess. And if not done, the qi would simply remain still and so would be unusable for techniques or even for sustaining one's defenses.

Wu Guang had spent some time before solving the matter in the store and so after he bought the food for dinner, he arrived at the residence only a few minutes before Kuang Jing and Wei. Both of them had managed to breakthrough and so most of the dinner and the following talk was spent discussing the matter. Wei broke his usual silence to ask about senses and so Wu Guang explained to him how he trained himself, albeit he mentioned that his mantras for training the senses came from a master and so he could not share them. Still, the basic information and more advanced tips he gave were enough for Wei to start training even without any special methods, so the latter was extremely grateful.

But when an offer of something in exchange for the knowledge came up, Wu Guang refused, citing that the knowledge was not so hidden and even if it was, they were meant to work as a team and so the stronger one got - the better for the rest.

On such a note the visiting pair left and he was left alone with Yuan Taotu. Wu Guang decided to not mention the part of the residence being empty and simply took out the container for the orb. It was a heavy, rectangular lockbox made of 'Heaven's Stone' and so not only it was cold to the touch it also retained the natural sky blue color of it. The lock was simple as Wu Guang did not expect to let anyone close enough to try and open it and so had not requested anything complex. Still, even this simple one was good enough to hamper its opening without knowing the special pattern.

After a quick experiment, it was confirmed that the mixed effect from the material and the concealing, blocking, and sensing runes hid any sign of the orb. To the point that when inside, there would be no way to find out about it. Well, at least for cultivators below the Sage realm, as an expert of the latter could easily sense and even communicate with any qi treasure, organism, herb, and material inside his close consciousness radius. Or in other words, in the surrounding one hundred feet.
