Lightning Hell

From the previous conversation, Wu Guang had learned two important things.

The first one was that the Soul realm aura he had sensed and his guesses about an expert behind all this were true, and this man called himself Lord Liao. While the second thing was that Elder Di did not disregard his duty protecting him, but was attacked himself.

In any case, these two bits of information meant that Wu Guang could continue with his plan of cleaning up these criminals without worrying. After all, even if Lord Liao was prepared to kill an Inner Elder, he was not so if his opponent was Elder Di. Especially as Lord Liao was seemingly the most powerful of the attackers, and even he was two levels below the elder's cultivation. Soul realm levels were a lot harder to ignore than the Spirit realm ones. But this was understandable as the strength of Spirit realm cultivators was pretty similar during all the realm. With only their supporting abilities and qi capacity improving each level. As for the Soul realm, every single level increased one's combat ability by bringing forth an increase in both physical and Soul power.

In any case, Wu Guang did not need to worry about going in right now. Killing them all would be pretty easy if Wu Guang used all his methods, but such a way would not give him the combat experience he so desperately sought. While if he barged directly and fought all of them without relying on his mind power and other methods, he would be undoubtedly killed. There was also the issue of finding at least some information about their escape, and so he could not kill them right away in any case.

So what could he do? The answer was simple... Cull down the opposition until he was sure of his win.

As for how? It was pretty easy...

None of the people inside noticed that the door from the corridor connecting to the cave was opened a little and Wu Guang had been observing them from there.

Suddenly, this door was fully opened, as if kicked from the other side. And everyone including the three standing behind turned towards the doorway only to see a young man dressed in dark blue robes standing there. His cultivation was hidden, but judging from the robes he should be a disciple from the 'Three Hills Sect'... But what was he doing here?

Such a question crossed everyone's mind, but nobody managed to voice it. After all, as they noticed the youth, the latter made a throwing motion with his hand and several daggers were released.

This all happened instantaneously but all of the present were people that had fought for their lives before, and so reacted right after sensing that something wasn't right. For the weaker ones, they simply fell to the floor, while the ones that had some confidence like the stronger three, did not put such a simple attack in their eyes and used their skills to avoid it.

Unbeknownst to all of them, this would turn out to be not a simple attack...

The 4 daggers directed towards the four groups formed by the 17 people were the first ones to arrive. Only one of them did hit its intended target squarely, while another two simply grazed theirs. As for the last one, it missed and lodged itself on a table.

In truth, Wu Guang had not placed any attention on throwing the daggers. After all, hit or not, there would still be a destructive weapon. He did pay a bit of attention to the four that he threw towards the strongest three men, but it wasn't his best effort by far.

Thus the low effort plus the difference in cultivation and distance meant a very low chance of hitting his target. And including that the three of them had enough experience to dodge them without disturbing each other... three daggers of them missed their marks by a strand or hair or even less. As for the fourth of them, it hit the hairless burly man's shoulder and lodged itself deep inside.

"What bastard dare..." The bear-like man started speaking but stopped after noticing that something was amiss. As for what? It was nothing else than the faces of everyone in the room. And indeed, how could one not notice that something was strange if more than a dozen people suddenly paled?

But such a reaction was understandable, after all, the daggers that were just now avoided did not continue flying, but were floating in the air. And even the ones that did land somewhere already were emitting a bright radiance. Such radiance could both mean treasure or danger, and who would expect the former from an attack?

Just at this moment, as to not give anyone the time to react Wu Guang spoke

"If it was me, I would not dare to move I would not even dare to breathe..."

"What did you say? Brat, what are those!" After examining the radiance and feeling the danger coming from it, the bear-like man shouted.

"Heh, you will find out right away" As Wu Guang said this, his usual calm and even unemotional face was crossed by a smirk. And right away he gave the command both inwardly and vocally

"Lightning!"

If one said that hell was full of bolts of lightning, no one would believe him... At least not until seeing the scene that followed Wu Guangs command.

The 'Lightning Attraction Seal' name was wrong, as it wasn't that the seal attracted natural lightning, no, it created its own. The lightning was not natural and so obviously was far less destructive, but even so, with Wu Guang's current mind power it could be comparable to an attack of a Beginner Earth realm cultivator... and what Spirit realm cultivator could resist such?

This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.

Granted, the daggers had not landed on their bodies, but still, the lightning that appeared and at the seal was not confined to the dagger. No, it struck a zone of at least a few feet around each of them.

So it's no wonder that one would think of hell when seeing the image that Wu Guang saw and that he had created by himself.

Eight bolts appeared and struck at the daggers, each of them generating a several feet zone of lightning currents. These currents tore apart and destroyed the furniture, bodies, and even air. They lasted only for a few moments, but after they disappeared the scene was far different from before. Eight craters had appeared at the place where the lightning had been before, and except for the blackened rock that served as the floor of the cave room, nothing else existed inside them. As for Wu Guang's opponents? The ones inside the lightning effect were exterminated fully, with nothing of them remaining. But even so, they were lucky, after all, they had died right away. As for the ones that were a bit further from the daggers, their situation was far worse. There were six people alive, of which four were from the weaker seventeen. From these four one was the only one truly lucky as to avoid any damage, but for the rest...

One was missing both arms, another one was missing his right hand and left leg, while the last one was struck lightly and so was only paralyzed. Still, only he could know if it was from fear or the lightning.

As for the two stronger survivors, they were the bear-like man and surprisingly Black and White Evil. The former was missing half of his body, but thanks to his dantian being not hit, was alive. As for the latter, he was slightly burned but otherwise appeared fine.

Describing the situation took a long time, but actually, only a moment passed for Wu Guang to grasp the current conditions of the remaining people. And this moment was also enough for them to feel the effects and so the cave was filled up with swearing and cries of pain

"My arms!!!"

"Where.. where are my legs!!!"

"FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!"

"What happened? What happened? What the hell happened?"

"Where is my brother? Heavens, where is he!!"

The only one who maintained his calm was Black and White Evil. It wasn't that he was not angry or less scared than others, but he somehow managed to overcome it and ask Wu Guang

"Who may this Young Master be?"

"Heh... I don't tend to introduce myself to my prey, but I will make an exception this time. I am Wu Guang, an inner disciple of the 'Three Hills Sect'. A pleasure to meet you all"

"So young master Wu is responsible for this? If it's so, what reasons do you have to attack us?" Seemingly this criminal was not so clever as Wu Guang first thought. As he was simply incapable of connecting Wu Guang and what had happened.

"Indeed it was me. And reasons? Why I should have a reason to exterminate a bunch of escaped criminals? Or will you tell me that you'll amend your ways after escaping? Sorry, I will not believe it anyway" Wu Guang never was a fan of speaking with people he was determined to kill, but he had the intention of getting at least some information from them. And so scaring them enough before asking would make the trick.

"Don't believe him! His cultivation can't be high, he simply used a treasure! Don't stay there, attack him!!!!" Suddenly the bear-like man screamed like crazy...

Still, except Black and White Evil, the other four survivors were either too badly wounded or too scared as to attack.

But again, Wu Guang needed information and he had overheard from before that the one called Black and White Evil was not so enthusiastic about the matter. So he ignored the bear-like man and made an offer

"You are the one called Black and White Evil, right?"

"Indeed"

"Good. I will give you a chance to escape"

"Truly?"

"I never lie, even to such criminals like you"

"What do I have to do?" Black and White Evil was clever enough to understand that if Wu Guang was indeed the one behind the previous attacks, he would not remain standing there without being sure of dealing with the survivors. In such a case, even if the offer was something extremely dangerous, it was still better than end up dying right away.

"It's easy, kill the survivors and tell me about your escape from the tower. If you do so and it's the truth, I will give you a chance to escape"

"What chance?"

"I will allow you to fight me. If you win or at least don't die, I will allow you to escape"

"But..:"

"I will not use the previous treasure. in fact, I will not use anything except my cultivation. And you can rest assured, it's not higher than yours" Wu Guang decided to go with the explanation kindly provided by the bear-like man and acknowledged the daggers as treasures.

"Truly?"

"I said that I don't lie"

"Does Young Master Wu dare to swear an oath?"

"Hahaha! Why would I not dare? But you go first, after all, you shall tell me the truth or die right away"

Afterward, both Wu Guang and Black and White Evil, whose real name turned out to be Jiang Bing swore an oath. The former to release Jiang Bing if he won or tied against him after killing the survivors and told him the truth. And the latter to speak only the truth about what he knew.
