Travels along the Astral Road
4th level of the Spirit realm

4th level of the Spirit realm

Yuan Taotu was the first to raise and leave the room. As for Wu Guang, he remained there until almost midday. He had actually advanced and entered the 4th level of the Spirit realm during nighttime. After all, there were no other requirements than doubling one's initial qi capacity. Still, he could not leave right away because the energy was not absorbed fully even after breaking through.

The amount that was liberated was over his estimations. Initially, this troubled Wu Guang as he normally relied on his calculations for acting. But as the result was only beneficial for him, he took it calmly. Thanks to this calmness, he managed to find out the reason easily. "So the Orb improves the effects of the resources used inside its zone of effect to this extent." In truth, as he thought about it he found out that he did not know much about the orbs as even as Bai Qi, he did not own one.

He did have the opportunity to cultivate near one for a few years but even so, without owning it. And without the opportunity to analyze the effect and test the results, it was impossible to know all of its effects. Especially such as the overall improvement to natural resources like was the case currently with the wood essence.

When Wu Guang left the room at midday the energy surge had finished and his dantian had expanded almost thrice from the original. Although this did not give him any advantages except extending the amount of time he could fight, later on, it would be of enormous help. Especially as the expansion of one's dantian was important in other realms as well.

The 4th level of the Spirit realm did not give him any real advantages when compared to his 3rd level cultivation from before, but this was a mistaken assumption that only non-cultivators or people who did not know about the different levels would make. Indeed there were almost no direct benefits, at least not so noticeable as compared to the previous levels, but, the real strength and gains of the 4th level were the fact that he would now be able to train his senses.

Training the senses and the different techniques, manuals and even resources used for this was practically a full scholarly discipline but as anything related to cultivation, it could be actually simplified to a systematic improvement. This improvement varied because of the method but in truth, the maximum result was the same for any of them, albeit it could not be reached by everyone. So most cultivators preferred to use all the available methods in combination to quickly reach the maximum result they could.

As for the final level of the senses, it was the 33rd one. Something practically unattainable by any cultivator below the Astral realm. Even when called levels, in truth it simply referred to the number of times one's senses were superior to the untrained ones of a similar level cultivator.

Normally all cultivators would train their senses so such a comparison would be impossible. Still, it was the only method to track the changes as every realm improved or even made changes to the body.

Wu Guang had an enormous collection of methods but after considering that the 'Master of Everything, Ruler of Nothing' did contain techniques for the matter, there was no need of recalling the other ones. For now, Wu Guang only concentrated on recalling the techniques and understanding them, as actual training would need to wait. In truth, he could start right away, but he could not spend much time, at least not until solving the matters at hand.

Surprisingly as he started looking into the techniques he had obtained alongside the other things during his Spirit realm breakthrough he found that they were pretty simple and would be considered at best of medium quality. He could easily find a better one in his memory. But this impression quickly receded as he finished recalling all of them giving place to an extreme surprise or even agitation. "But... This is almost impossible! It's a known fact that each manual, resource, and technique would develop one sense at a time. While depending on the type, precedence, and desired result, create a discrepancy between the levels of the senses" But thinking such did not change the fact that all the techniques for the 7 senses he had in his mind were made to be developed at the same time, giving rise to totally balanced set.

And as the maximum level of senses was restricted by one's cultivation, it meant that each of his senses would be at the top level at all times.

Right now Wu Guang was already accustomed to the 'Master of Everything, Ruler of Nothing' set uniqueness. So he did not spend much time dazing, but still, the set really broke even what he thought to be practically laws of the cultivation world.

Another detail that his mind at first omitted as the surprise about perfect balance took over everything was the fact that the technique was divided into several parts. The part he knew at the moment was meant to advance only three levels of each sense but this was actually normal. After all, no cultivator of the Spirit realm could step on the 4th level of any sense.

Still, the fact that the technique had further parts was a good sign. A sign that probably meant that he could continue this balanced way further on the road. Such a division also served to confirm his thoughts about the fact that the set information, techniques, and quirks would slowly but naturally come to him as he advanced.

"Just another reason to reach the Soul realm quickly as for now, I can only guess about the things I will discover" with this thought and after deciding on a plan of advancement for the next days, Wu Guang left the cultivation room, or at least if the small storage-like room they had used to store the orb could be counted as such.

Yuan Taotu was not present in the residence and Wu Guang concluded that the latter had already left to the training he mentioned during their talk the past evening. Thankfully he had thought about his partner and left him some food on the table, so Wu Guang did not need to cook or buy something outside. Even if they could go without eating a few days as qi would naturally nourish their body. Such nourishment spent a good amount of qi because of their low cultivation. So they still preferred to eat full meals and also at least sleep half of the nights, which if not done would also require some of their qi to be spent to combat fatigue.

The orb should be safe for the time being as they did not expect anyone to barge into their residence. In any case, Wu Guang made sure to ask Elder Mo specifically and got a negative answer to surveillance inside the sect even during the first days, so there was no danger from that side either. Anyway, Wu Guang wanted to solve the issue of the orb during the following days as he did not intend to leave it in the sect during the mission - no matter how safe it could be.

Wu Guang had already planned his agenda for the day but now he had to reconsider a bit because he had lost a few hours and the sun would start descending pretty soon. In any case, his main destinations would remain the same. With the first being the plaza of the inner circle.

When he arrived there, Wu Guang scanned the billboard again and noticed that indeed there were some changes and a pair of new additions, but overall none of the new ones interested him and what did, was luckily still present. After noting the respective numbers of the 'Silent Arrow', some weapon spars and a qi pressure one, Wu Guang approached one of the desks manned by the disciples working for the Mission hall that was responsible for registering and collecting payment.

All the training notices that Wu Guang had chosen were personal and not group ones and so accommodated perfectly to his current needs. Thankfully except for the 'Silent Arrow' which had only one date and would require the entire day, the others hours and days could be selected. So after spending 480 points Wu Guang next week was planned out without issue.

With this done, Wu Guang moved to the Martial library. And after the two medallions that granted him the opportunity to select two techniques from the 3rd floor were confirmed, he proceeded to walk around the floor. After finding them, Wu Guang obtained 'Flaming Armor' defensive technique and the 'Flaming Impulse' movement technique. Even though the badges allowed him to skip over the cultivation requirement, he would still need to pay for them. And so he spent almost all his remaining points. After all, the techniques were valued at 600 points each.

As for the 3rd floor, it was practically identical to the 2nd one. And as the process was the same, Wu Guang did not pay much attention. Still, as he had the opportunity to do so and he considered that it could serve him somehow, he scanned and memorized most of the descriptions as well.

Leaving the 'Martial Library' Wu Guang had another destination planned for today, the Refining Palace. But he had never been there before and even did not know if he really needed to go there. Including the issue that he could be barred from entry, he decided to first stop at the store ran by the Refining and Rune halls.

It turned out that he was correct to do so. Thankfully the disciple manning the first floor had dealt with similar questions before and so explained everything. From this, Wu Guang learned that any requests were simply filed with one of the elders present here, without any need to visit the Palace itself.
