The rest of that day was spent by Wu Guang and Yuan Taotu to move their things and buy food and a few necessities for their residence. Speaking of which, both of them liked the fact that it was at the fringe of the inner circle and that there was nothing around. To this latter fact, Wu Guang even said
"If this is what that disciple meant by bad location, I just wish all bad locations were like this"
This was acknowledged by a silent nod from Yuan Taotu, who also enjoyed the fact that they would not have any people around, even if they had now to walk a couple of miles to reach the main plaza in place of the half-mile before.
Although called a courtyard, theirs was basically a wall around the training grounds with a few bulges that were meant as rooms. There were built as three buildings, which were the main house, a small west wing meant as kitchen and storage, and an eastern wing that was mainly occupied by a good-sized bath and an armory.
After finishing their tasks and after exploring the house, the pair bathed and dressed in their new uniforms received Xiao Feng to dinner together. The dinner went great and Wu Guang used the moment to ask some of the details about their new status he had questions with. When they were solved and the customary wishes were said, Xiao Feng retired, citing that he will need to rest before his new mission tomorrow.
Wu Guang had not yet opened the holding pouch he got from Elder Chen, so he decided to do so now. It was a simple low-level holding pouch so it could be opened by just infusing it with qi, which he did and an image of the insides appeared right away in his mind. As expected from the lowest tier pouch, the available space was only 3 square feet and it contained only a few items. Wu Guang after willing them and infusing more qi summoned before him.
Seeing that there was a letter present, Wu Guang decided to first read it before examining anything else.
"First of all, congratulations on reaching the Spirit realm. I wish that this first minor realm that you achieved will be only a starting step on your path and I hope that the items provided will help you a bit on it" Was the entrance of the letter after which a small description of the provided items followed, and after scanning it Wu Guang felt that Elder Chen really was generous. A small vial with three wood essence drops which was already an extremely valuable treasure was the first item on the list, but the other would be also very useful.
From this other items, there was a bottle with a few Spirit level qi recovering pills, which from what Wu Guang knew were fairly expensive if bought from the sect as the sect only had one pill master and a box which the letter explained "In the box, you will find
Two bronze medallions with the character 'Robe' engraved on them, meant to be exchanged at the Refining and Rune shop for a combat robe each.
A bronze medallion engraved with 'Martial' will allow you to choose any low-tier Spirit technique from the Martial Library second floor for free.
And lastly, fifty gold coins to use while outside the sect"
Everything was useful for Wu Guang right now, but the gold solved the question he had about what to do when on missions outside, after all, his own money would not be enough to travel freely while on a mission, and from Xiao Feng explanation, the contribution points could be exchanged to silver for this purpose but it was a trade so bad that almost no one used it.
Internally thanking Elder Chen for his prevision he reached the last part of the letter which was basically an instruction to report his progress to High Elder Mo when possible and always inform the latter when leaving the sect.
Storing everything except the three bronze medallions inside the holding pouch, Wu Guang after thinking for a bit went to find Yuan Taotu. As they were supposed to work together and he would not need two martial robes, he simply gave him both robe medallions and asked him to go fetch one for each other tomorrow. He did not explain and he wasn't asked to, so after this Wu Guang simply bid goodnight and retired to his room.

When Wu Guang got up, he planned his day and then acted on it. The first matter he wanted to resolve was to report to Elder Mo, but judging that it will be too strange for High Elder to be present at sunrise, Wu Guang decided to first visit the Martial Library, and go report after choosing a technique or two.
He approached the Martial Pagoda and noticing that there were not many people as the first time he saw it. This was quickly resolved by the disciple working at the entrance, who explained that people normally came right after receiving their contribution points, so right now he could only see in attendance people who finished a mission and saved up enough for whatever they needed.
The same disciple also explained to him the difference between the levels, although as Wu Guang could only enter the first two at the moment, this could be easily resumed into the fact that the first floor only had martial manuals and non-qi techniques while the 2nd one was fully composed of low tier spirit techniques. The floors also were different respecting their manner as the first one would be accessed and paid for the time inside and had no limits on the number of manuals read while the second and latter ones could be entered freely but you bought single techniques that wouldn't be seen until paid for with only a brief explanation present for decisions.
Wu Guang had some spare time so after a quick thought, he decided to spend an hour on the first floor. He was missing moves for at least half of the weapons he had and he also had no full martial art that he would use in unarmed combat, so he wanted to correct this. For him an hour was enough to memorize an enormous amount of scrolls and books, after all, he only had to scan them once to later recall them during training.
But as there were some people present, Wu Guang had to spend time to form an image of him seeking something. And so half of the time he just opened what seemed random scrolls and books while choosing only two or three at the end. He then proceeded to read the chosen ones carefully.
Or at least this was what everyone else saw. In reality, Wu Guang memorized everything he opened, especially the weapon movements and combat techniques for different weapons. After finding something for every weapon he owned, he also memorized a full sword school called 'Hurricane Edge' that centered on quick and abrupt movements using a sword held in a single hand.
The three he choose and read openly were a series of movements that in total formed a full school of mixed combat, as it would use kicks, movement, punches with one hand, and even having a few for a small saber, which was meant to be used in the other hand. This was a school that piqued his interest far more than any he had seen or memorized until now and internally he even compared it to some of the basics he learned during his first years of training from his memories. It was mentioned to have several names, but the main word for all was 'Sandstorm' and he was extremely surprised because of this, after all, there were no deserts on Half-Island or to be exact on any island except the one dominated by the Black Claw Empire.
The origin of the technique was soon confirmed by a small addendum on the last page of the saber techniques, which explained that this was a School that all the officers in the Empire learned and was part of the spoils after their army retired with the signature of the Island peace treaty. This again piqued Wu Guang's interest, as he knew that this treaty was signed because of the cataclysm that stopped the war. He was interested in it before but mostly as a way to find out if the matter of the formations was related to it, but the cataclysm was interesting in its own right as well. In the end, he was disappointed as there was no further information. Still, the mention did reignite his interest in investigating the matter. Regretfully for doing so, he would need access to the archives of the sect, and such was only possible with special permission from a Palace Master. Thankfully it should be not so hard to get from Elder Chen, but for now, he decided to wait, at least until his strength was enough to fend for himself.
