After a few hours everyone was up.
"How are you Leonard?"
"I feel fine. It still hurts, but I think I'm going to be ok. Thank you Catherine! I'll give you a thank you present, when we get back."
Catherine smiled at him.
"I'm glad I could help."
Leonard sighed.
"I can't belive what just happened. The whole group met up in the main tent to disqus the plan on, how to get to the tower fast and safely. Then the newby Gregory walked in with two of the guards. He said that he is taking over the place, then threw a vial in the middle. There was something green smoke coming out of it and as it reached us, we all got paralized. After that they attack us one by one. I don't know how did I survive it."
He looked at the ground with sadness in his eyes.
"When did all this happen?"
He looked up again.
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
"I don't know exactly, but it was sometimes in the afternoon. I don't know how much time went by before you two came up."
Joseph looked at Catherine, who shrugged.
"So all the guards and this guy betrayed you?"
"It seems like. Which is strange, because this group, except for Gregory, worked together for more than a decade by now. I have no idea what happened."
"This is a problem. Also they probably got the keys to the tower, so by now they could've entered."
"It seemed like as you say, because they looked happy, when they've found the ruby."
Leonard sit down into a chair then Joseph looked outside of the tent. There was nothing interesting there.
"So what now?"
"I would say that you still have the job. But now it's too dangerous for just the two of you. I think we should just leave and report them to Ronald."
"I'm not sure about that."
"What do you mean?"
Joseph looked at the carriages one more time.
"The horses are missing, so it would be hard to get out."
"That is a big problem. So what are your ideas?"
Catherine looked at the carriages.
"I could make golems to carry us with the carriage, but it would take a few days to make them. Or we can just enter the tower and stop them."
"If we stay here for days, they will return. Maybe we should just wait and ambush them?"
"That is an option, but what if there are other exits from down there?"
"That is true."
They all looked at eachother in silence. Leonard was the first to speak.
"I think we should head to the tower. Maybe we are not too late."
Joseph's eyes shone up.
"I got an idea how to deal with them!"
Both of them look at him confused.
