The elf wrote in a language they didn't understand, but luckily Catherine had the spell to read his mind, so they spoke that way. They were thinking about leaving the town to speak, but it would've been a waste of time for now.
The next day morning they went to the Ugly Orc. Joseph walked up to Emilia and greeted her.
"Good morning!"
"Same! What is your plan for the day? More jobs?"
"Not really. We are leaving town. The problem is that we might be not coming back, or at least not for a long time. I want to know if it's fine if we quit the guild."
"I see."
She pulled out a paper from one of the shelves and read it.
"You don't have to quit if you are leaving. Your identifications are working in different towns as well. Now that you are silver-rated, you don't have to worry about this. If you are in any big city the guilds there will most likely accept your medallion and you can take jobs there."
A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
"That is convenient."
"After all you are not the first traveling adventurers. It is not an uncommon job."
"I see. Then we will be leaving."
"Right now?"
"Yes. We want to leave soon."
"That might be a problem."
"Why?"
They heard a firework explosion from outside.
"The roads are closed for the early morning because the hero Rosaline is coming to the city."
"They make such a big parade because she is coming here?"
"She is one of the strongest warriors of this continent so she has influence obviously."
"Do you know why is she here?"
"I heard that she is visiting someone here but I'm not sure."
"I see. Thank you for the information."
"Any time."
'She is just as formal as my coworkers in my previous life...'
Joseph explained everything to Catherine and the kid then they walked outside and saw the empty streets.
Everyone from the city was going to the northern gate. Catherine walked towards one of the stables near the guild.
"Seems like she is coming from there. We should get some horses while waiting."
"Good idea."
The elf nodded.
Fortunately, there were still people there. They bought three horses, so they can travel faster, then bought different types of equipment and rations.
As they got close the southern gate was still closed, but the guards ensured them that they will open up in a few minutes.
After a while, they opened up and the party left the town.
