Chapter 81. Robot

Chapter 81. Robot

Ronald pursed his lips.

"I know. I don't know why it started moving, or what is it doing."

Joseph shrugged.

"It seems like it's patrolling the area. It's last order was probably to defend something."

Everyone looked at him confused.

"How do you know that?"

Joseph shrugged.

"It lookes like a golem, isn't it?"

Catherine shook her head.

"It does not look like any type of golem I've ever heard of. It does not have that much magic power and it's movement is more rigid."

The golem took a circle around the room, not caring about them standing at the edge of the room. Joseph clicked his tongue.

"Did it attacked anyone yet?"

"As far as we know, it just walked around. Noone was in here until Jordan came in to check up on the items."

The armor stopped next to a crate and reached in it. It grabbed a big stone that was as big as a human head and crushed it with it's hand. Blue light eminated from it and enveloped the thing. After that it started to move in circles again.

Everyone was standing there confused.

"Seems like it took your stone Ronald. I'll go up and see what's the deal with this thing."

Joseph started to walk forward. Catherine walked a few stepps behind him.

If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

As he got in front of the armor, it stopped and leaned a bit forward. It looked like it was scanning him from top to bottom. Than a robotic voice came out of it.

"Scan complete. Human. Magical level torelable. Threat level minimal. State your name and rank."

"I'm Joseph. I guess I don't have a rank?"

"Joseph, civilian. Stored in database. This is a military compartment. Without proper permit no civilians allowed to move forward. Please leave."

Joseph was confused, but walked back to Ronald.

Meanwhile the robot started to scan Catherine.

"Scan complete. Unknown specie. Magical level normal. Threat level minimal. If you can speak, state your name and rank."

Catherine was more confused than Joseph. Looked at him questioningly, than back to it.

"Catherine. Great witch?"

"Witch detected. Please show your license."

Catherine tilted her head.

"License?"

"Witch license."

"I don't have any."

The robot stopped and seemed like it was thinking.

"Without license you are not allowed to enter. If you don't have it please leave."

Catherin walked back to the others.

"What is up with this thing?"

Joseph shook his head.

"I think this thing was created to guard a military base or something."

Ronald looked at him questioningly.

"What is a military base?"

'What? They don't know? Then what do they call them?'

"It's a place where the soldiers train, artificers make new weaponised inventions. Also you store the weapons there. Like this storage have all these weapons and armors."

Then he realized something.

"It probably confused this place with an other."

They all noded and Jordan scratched his head.

"So what are we supposed to do?"

Joseph shrugged.

"I don't think it's a good idea to fight it."

"Why not?"

"Remember? It said our threat level is minimal. That means we probably can't hurt it."

Cathrine got angry from his statement.

"What do you mean?! It's just a pile of steel!"

Joseph shook his head.

"You mean a pile of steel that is infused with who knows what kind of magic from the age of the five mages? Also remember that it absorbed that mana? I think it will run out sooner or later, if it had to absorb that one this early after activating."

Catherine showed and annoyed face.

"I suppose that's true."

Ronald smiled at her.

"That is not the only problem. If you start to fight here, you might damage all these artifacts. I would like to avoid that."

Catherine sighed.

"Alright. Alright. You are the customer after all."

"Thank you for understanding. Now we should return to the party I think. We left in a hurry. If people notice it, they might get angry."

Joseph looked back once more, just when the robot started a new round around the room.

"I guess you couldn't have better guard for this place anyway."

They returned to the floor level.
