Chapter: 50. Meeting Daniella

Chapter: 50. Meeting Daniella

Leon's Perspective...

I had never expected that my duel with Karl Stuart, a noble, would spread around the academy so fast. After the duel, all of my classmates treat me like a hero for beating a high-ranking noble such as Karl Stuart. After the duel, my quiet life in the academy disappeared instantly.

After the duel, I feel like a popular character in anime who people admire or despise... But thank god for my older siblings James and Alexandra, and my younger sister Sophie for having my back in the academy. Ah, and also my classmates and friends, they're quite cool!

If it weren't for their support I wouldn't have made it. But luckily Brandon and Father didn't find out about the duel... but knowing about Noble society I wouldn't be surprised if they found out from one of the parents of the other children.

The other students keep approaching me and asking me about the duel. Mostly, girls, I guess winning a duel against a noble comes with its perks... and also disadvantages. Ever since I defeated Karl I have been getting strange looks from the rich-looking students, As if they didn't expect someone like me to beat him so easily.

Luckily they don't know my true identity as the third son of Sylvester Blaze, or else I would be dealing with a bunch of people who only care about making connections with other high-ranking Nobles to secure a "good future".

I know that not all Nobles are like that, but the amount of the ones who are willing to use others to accomplish their dreams is more numerous, and that made me skeptical.

Right now Samuel, Keith, and I are heading to school, with the eyes of the other students on me. It wasn't a new thing for me, so I was keeping my cool. But I don't know about Samuel and Keith.

It feels like only I alone have received any attention after the duel...

"You guys want to hang out later on?" I asked both of them

"I don't mind. But I think my class will be having special training. But I will see if we can hang out though." Keith informed Samuel and me about his plans.

"Which class are you in again?" I asked Keith.

"Umm, Class Class 1-S, sane one as Sophie Blaze....?" Keith replied to Samuel's question, not knowing why he was being asked such a question.

Samuel turned around to face me and Keith didn't react to my question. Did I ask something wrong? If not, then why is Samuel looking at me like that?

"I don't know about that...I think I have to stay back in class today. But I will let you know if anything changes!" Keith tried to explain.

"Ah, it's all good, Keith. If you're busy we can reschedule for another day when we're all free. " I said, trying to assure him that everything was fine.

"Are you sure? Because I don't want to ruin the vibe or anything. "

"Hahaha, you don't have to worry about anything, dude! Leon and I are cool with that!" Samuel laughed and started Patting him on his back.

I just nodded in agreement with Samuel. But I can't shake off this strange feeling...

"Thanks, you guys are the best! I promise I'll make it up to you guys!" Keith said.

After that, we continued to walk to school, with all of the other student's eyes on me. Why are they staring at me alone? I mean, although I grew up with the spotlight on me, I don't know how to handle the pressure that comes with fame.

Sophie, I hope you are doing alright and have reunited with your childhood best friend Daniella.... as for me, I'm dealing with the consequences of dueling with a noble.

"Isn't that the peasant boy who defeated Karl Stuart, a noble?"

"Yeah, but I heard that they didn't complete their duel. And they were interrupted by the Student Body Council and the Disciplinary Committee."

"It's such a shame that Karl Stuart didn't get to settle the duel..."

"Yeah..."

The students were talking about me, or rather about the duel between Karl and me. It didn't make any sense that they were talking about the duel that had already happened.

We continued to walk to our classes, talking and making jokes with each other. When Samuel and I made it to our classroom, we entered and sat down in our seats.

My classmates were sitting in their seats and talking among themselves. I don't know what, but today everybody seems to be quiet for some reason.

Leon's Perspective ends...

"Good morning, everyone." Leon greeted his classmates who were caught up in their conversations.

"Morning..." Samuel greeted all so.

After Leon and Samuel entered the classroom and walked to their seats and sat down. They didn't know why their classmates were behaving in such a strange manner. usually, the class was filled with the laughter of the students and the carefreeness of their classmates, so noticing the quietness of the class made both of them feel somewhat surprised and skeptical.

A pin could drop in the classroom and you'd be able to hear it, that's how quiet the classroom was.

Leon was taken aback by the quietness of the classroom. And Samuel was caught off guard by their behavior.

"Hey, I think something's wrong with the others..." Samuel leaned over and whispered to him.

"Huh... what do you mean?" Leon asked, puzzled by what Samuel had said.

"You know, " he paused thinking about what to say next. "I mean, everyone is acting weird. Don't you realize? Today everybody is quiet, unlike the other days."

Leon nodded in agreement with Samuel. He couldn't understand why everybody was behaving strangely Today.... to him, everything was weird. The atmosphere of the classroom was filled with awkwardness between the entire classroom. The students were quiet and spoke between themselves.

That had made them stand out among the other classes, with most of the students being in disbelief at the fact that they were quiet for once. It was a once-in-a-while opportunity to see Class 1-F be quiet for once. So in the end, no teachers were not forced to supervise them.

Samuel suddenly got up and decided to approach a random person from his class and ask him about the sudden quietness.

"Yo, what's the matter?" Samuel asked. "And why are you guys so quiet this Friday?!"

"W, well," He hesitated to answer Samuel's question. "From what I've heard Miss Ava plans for us to have a mock duel with some Adventurers..."

"Eh?"

Samuel couldn't believe that his classmates were frightened to fight with some probably weak F-rank adventurers. That had made him angry with his classmates.

"Why are you afraid of some low-level Adventurers? It's kind of pathetic." Samuel said mockingly.

'They are probably making a fuss about some low-level Adventurers... what's so special about them that all my classmates have suddenly become scared?' (Samuel)

Leon kept staring at the commotion that was taking place in front of him. He was paying close attention to what Samuel was doing.

He felt like Samuel was blowing things out of proportion and thought that he was doing too much for someone who was asking questions.

"If you don't know what you're talking about, it's for the best if you keep your mouth shut." Scott sternly warned him.

"These Adventurers are top class and are the best in their profession. There's no way in hell we're going to win against them." Another student chimed in.

Samuel heaved a sigh of frustration at the fact that his classmates were giving up, and went back to his seat feeling somewhat angry.

He was mumbling something to himself as he sat in his seat. "I can't believe these guys...."

"Are you okay, dude? I think you need to calm down." Leon asked with concern in his voice.

"Yeah, I'm just thinking about what that guy just said," Samuel replied to Leon's question.

"I think you went too far with that one. You should have asked about it alone." Leon cautioned him.

"Yeah, yeah."

Leon and Samuel continued to talk with each other about other stuff, while everyone else continued to sit in sorrow because of the news they'd heard.

Suddenly Leon got up from his seat and Samuel and all of his classmates were staring at him with confusion. But Leon was too deep in his thoughts to notice that.

'I'm probably going to the washroom by the time Miss Ava arrives to class.... this class is too boring and too depressing. What am I going to do now...?' (Leon)

'There is nothing to do in the academy other than waiting in class for Miss Ava...'

"What are you doing, Leon? Is everything alright?" Samuel asked.

"Hey, where are you going?" Emma asked him when she saw him getting up.

His other classmates follow up with their own questions.

"Nowhere, I want to use the restroom. You don't have to worry."

Leon proceeded to leave the classroom. He found himself walking out down the empty corridor. He came across an instructor, but he didn't say anything to him other than the usual greeting.

'Sighs.... today feels weird somehow. To be honest, as long it doesn't affect me in any way I don't care...'(Leon)

Meanwhile, in the female restroom, a young girl had just finished washing her hands and was about to open the door to exit. After coming out from the female restroom, she saw a familiar face heading toward her.

"Huh... he looks like Sophie...."

The boy had the same features as her best friend Sophie, but their mannerisms were different. While Sophie had the elegance of a noble, that boy was just like any other commoner.

Leon continued to walk confidently down the corridor, he saw her. To him, the individual looked like his twin sister's best friend, whom she wanted to reunite with.

As they passed each other, their eyes met and they greeted each other. Since that was the only reasonable thing to do for two strangers.

"Hey, good morning ." Daniella greeted.

"Morning..."

They both stopped and turned around to face each other. Staring at each other.

"Haven't we met before?" Leon asked, trying to start up a conversation.

"Probably. I usually talked with plenty of people in the academy," She responded to the boy's question.

"Ah, sorry I must have gotten you mixed up with someone else," Leon apologized to the elven girl.

'Well, I must have gotten confused her with another person... she does have the same appearance as the girl I met at the station.' (Leon)

"So, are you heading back to your class?" Leon asked.

The girl with Elven features nodded in response to his question, she had a confused expression on her face. She didn't have any clue of what he was talking about.

"Ah, I'm Leon, what about you?" Leon introduced himself to the elvish girl who looked like a dark elf.

"My name is Daniella, it's a pleasure to meet you again." She also introduced herself. They shook hands.

"Oh, you were the guy I met at the train station! I thought you had also forgotten about it." Daniella said.

"Yes! Leon exclaimed. "I think we should go out this weekend, if you're okay with it."

'Oh, did I just ask out a girl for the first time? I wouldn't have dreamt of asking out a girl in my previous life!' (Leon)

Daniella didn't expect to run into someone she met only once, she was caught off guard by their sudden interaction.

"You know, if you forgot you should have said so," She said coldly. "But we can go out this weekend."

Leon was happy that she had accepted to go out with him for the weekend. Meanwhile, the girl didn't know how to handle the situation that she was facing.

They eventually went their separate way, Daniella proceeded to walk to her classroom while Leon continued to the restroom.
