Chapter 10. Goodbyes and a beginning of a new journey.

Later on that night, after the Blaze family had their dinner, Leon and Sophie were summoned to their father's office.

Sylvester was sitting at the table, looking through a paper under a lamp on his table. The office was dark and spooky, with the moonlight shining in through the window. It didn't seem like he wanted to discuss anything normal. From the expression on his face, it looks like he wanted to discuss something serious.

"Please sit down, you two," Sylvester said while he continued to be occupied by his paperwork.

Leon and Sophie sat down nervously. They were wondering about what could be the reason why their father summoned them.

'What's going on? And why did father call us for?.... He must be mad about what happened earlier.' (Leon)

Leon thought as he waited for his father to get angry at him. 'This is bad! Maybe it's about revoking my enrollment in the Military Academy?'

Leon's mind was racing, and he was panicking. Seeing her twin brother in a state of panic, she gave him a comforting look. Making him feel comfortable.

"Sorry for calling you guys so late in the night. I want to talk to you about your enrollment in the Military Academy," Sylvester said seriously.

"Huh?.... "

"What...."

"I just came off the phone with the principal of the academy, and he would like to see you two after the entrance ceremony... So prepare yourselves to attend the Military Academy."

Sylvester explained to the twins. Sophie smiled happily, and Leon gave a plain expression.

"Are you serious?! That's awesome!" Sophie exclaimed, with her face rosy red.

"......"

'To be honest, I'm not that excited about this news, but it would be a nice change of scenery. But I'm happy for Sophie, seeing two best friends reunite is super cool!' (Leon)

Leon was smiling inwardly upon seeing Sophie so happy to be reunited with a long-time friend and how she was excited to start a new life in the Military Academy. That had made him somewhat happy.

"Your mother and I have already prepared your uniforms for you to attend the Military Academy. So that you can start your upcoming journey ahead," Sylvester sounded pretty stern.

"......"

The feeling of going to another province in the Empire is overwhelming for both Leon and Sophie, especially for Leon, in another world. He hadn't gotten used to his new body or family.

Haruto was very excited about traveling to another world. Unlike him in his previous life, he'd never traveled anywhere outside of Japan. Neither less outside of his prefecture.

"With that said, you guys can go back to your rooms. I'll let you know if any development is made." Sylvester said dismissing the twins.

Sophie slowly got to her feet and left the office. But Leon remained at the table unmoved. Sylvester looked at Leon with confusion on his face, wondering why he remained in his office.

"What's the matter, son? Is everything alright?" Sylvester asked.

Leon let out a sigh and started to explain himself.

"Father, can I ask you a favor?"

"Yes. Go ahead."

"I was wondering if I could enroll at the Military Academy, as another person. Not like I'm ashamed of the family name, I just want to live a normal life at the academy. So please, can I do that?"

The office was filled with an awkward silence after Leon had spoken.

Sylvester was shocked, he didn't expect anyone from his family to ask for something like that. 'maybe he was just trying to pull my legs.' Those thoughts were the ones that ran through his mind.

If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

"And what made you decide to do that?" Sylvester asked Leon, bewildered.

"I just don't want people to use me or the family name to get some clout. That is my reason for doing this," Leon replied to his father's question.

"Clout... can you please elaborate on what that means?" Sylvester asked, caught off guard by the unfamiliar word.

"Uh, I think the word means fame..." Leon answered his father.

'That's reasonable....' (Sylvester)

'Ah, I think most modern words don't exist in this world's dictionary. I'm such an idiot!' (Leon)

The thought of sending one of his sons as a commoner to the Military Academy was a dangerous thing but it would be a good experiment. The Blaze family is well-known for doing what would be questionable for the mobility of that world.

"Okay, I'll let you do that. But I'm going to need a later every week or once a month. Or I'm going to assign you a bodyguard."

"Alright, that's reasonable.... Then it's a deal!"

Leon and his father Sylvester shook hands and made a deal. At least Sylvester would just sign up for Leon to be an independent person.

The day of the departure. Leon had just woken up had his bath, and had his breakfast.

"Uh... Sir Leon I- good morning! I just want to say goodbye, and good luck with everything!"

A maid around the same age as him, with blonde hair and blue eyes said while blushing.

"Thank you, Marie. I appreciate it!"

Leon hugged Marie and comforted her. At that moment Sophie entered the dining room, upon seeing Leon and the maid hugging her face turned red with anger.

"Leon! What the hell are you doing?!"

'Uhhh... This is awkward.' (Leon)

Sophie ignored it and sat down at the table.

"Marie? Would you please be kind enough to Fetch me my breakfast?"

"Yes. My lady."

Marie left the room and Leon sat down at the table, Sophie gave him a disgusted look.

"What did I do? I didn't do anything wrong."

"Ugh! You're such an idiot! And I hate you."

'How could he do that? Hugging another girl. I can't stand that!!' (Sophie)

Of course, Sophie is an over-protected younger sister. Or you can say she has a brother complex.

With that, they ate their breakfast and went to their rooms to pack up their bags. Leon packed a smaller size bag, meanwhile, Sophie packed about two or three suitcases.

Leon got ready and put on contacts, with the help of the maids. He didn't want to be noticeable to anybody. Brandon was eavesdropping on both Leon and Sophi's conversations.

Later on that day, everyone was gathered in the mansion's compound. Leon and his new look, and Sophie walked out of the mansion and the butlers put Sophie's suitcases in the Mercedes.

"Huh?... Why only mine is being placed in the car?" Sophie asked in confusion.

Sylvester looked at her and explained everything to her. With that, everyone began to wish the twins good luck.

"Good luck with everything, man I'll be joining you at the Military Academy, soon!" Jake said as he and Leon did a fist bump.

"Um, why do you look so different, dude?" Jake asked, showing concern on his face.

"Well, I wanted a new look for the academy."

"Ah..."

Jake is a year younger than Leon, so that means until the next year then he would be able to attend the Military Academy. He couldn't wait to join Leon at the Military Academy.

Sophie and her female friends hugged and they cried. Leon felt something in his chest.

"Goodbye, you guys! I'll miss you!" Brandon yelled out from the top of his voice.

Sophie hugged Leon and hopped in the car, and drove off. While Leon took public transportation with some other children to the train station. Normally it would take about six hours to 12 hours to get to the next train station by plane. But by train, it would take about one or two days, depending on the train schedule.

The train is steam-powered probably from the early 20th century, that transports people to the city of Celestia, and also foodstuff to the smaller towns, villages, and settlements.

Celestia is the religious capital of this world. Unlike the other territories within the Holy Light Empire, which is ruled and administered by the nobility, the city is ruled by an Arch Bishop and a Clergy of priests. The people of Celestia are highly religious, they worship a pantheon of Gods known as the "Primordial Luminaries."

The people of Celsteia hold various festivals to celebrate during the years to celebrate the different Light gods, goddesses, and saints.

The city is very important in the Holy Light Empire, For both Military use and tourism. Since the city of Celestia is close to the sea, it also holds a navy base and thriving port. The Military Academy is also there in the city of Celestia.

When the train arrived at the station, Leon and everyone else gave their tickets and boarded the train.

"All aboard the train!" The conductor shouted, and the train began to roll off. And pick up speed as the train moves.

Leon sat down next to some other people wearing the Military Academy uniform. He didn't say anything to the other children.

At that moment, some strange men walked into the cart. Leon could sense something was up with the men. One of them had blonde hair and another one was a tall guy, wearing a robe with the hoodie covering his face. The other men weren't that important to Leon or they weren't strong enough.

'Something is off about these guys... I can't put a finger on it but I know something's up.' (Leon)

Another boy who was sitting next to Leon also sensed something in the atmosphere.

"Hey man, I feel uncomfortable..."

"What's wrong with you, dude?"

"I sensed something off in the atmosphere. I don't know what but it's strange."

"Where?..."

The boy pointed to the strange men. Getting his friend's attention.

"Hmm..."

Leon let out a big sigh got up and headed to the bathroom. The boys also got up and followed him. The train continued driving as if something was about to happen.
