Chapter 3. New friends.

(Yawns!)

Leon blinked groggily at the ceiling, the morning sun shining through the open curtains. His mind slowly registered the fact that he'd slept through the precious afternoon and night. With a frown, he turned his head toward his twin sister's bed, only to find it neatly made and empty.

A sense of unease prickled at the back of his mind as he tried to shake off the lingering fog of sleep.

He sat on the edge of his bed, his head hung down gazing at the floor, deep in his thoughts.

'I slept throughout the entire night, huh? Can't believe that I trained myself so hard that I slept so deep.' Leon thoughtto himself.

He slowly lifted his head and saw in front of him about four maids standing in front of him holding a towel.

"Good morning, young master!" The maids greeted Leon with their beautiful smiles. Leon simply smiled awkwardly at the maids.

"Okay, let's start my second day since I reincarnated...." Leon whispered to himself to get motivated. For he had been excited to begin his day.

"Huh?" One of the maids glanced at Leon, showing an hint of confusion in her eyes.

The maids helped Leon to get up and accompanied him to the bathroom, where he had his bath. After he was done the maids dressed him up to his dismay.

"You're done!"

"You look amazing, young master!" One of the maids mused, her eyes sparkling with joy as she admired Leon's appearance. Leon felt a flush of warmth spreading across his cheeks — this was the first time in years he'd been complemented by a woman who wasn't his sister or mother. He wasn't sure how to respond, a small, awkward smile forming on his lips as he nodded in appreciation.

"Thanks, you guys. I appreciate the compliments." Leon responded, rubbing his head unsure on what more to say to the maids.

"Your breakfast is ready, sir Leon," one of the maids said to him. "do you want us to accompany you there? You know, since you might not remember where the dining room is."

'Ah, I don't know where the dining room is... I was reincarnated for one month only, my meals were served to me in my room so I didn't get to go where the dining room was.'

Leon nodded in silent agreement and trailed behind the maids, their soft footsteps echoed in the spacious corridor. The massive doors loomed ahead, near where he and Sophie had been resting.

With a gentle push, one of the maids swung the heavy doors open, revealing the grandeur of the dining room.

(Gasps)

"Wow!"

The dining room stretched out like an expansive ballroom, sunlight streaming through the massive, arched windows that cast long, golden rectangles across the polished marble floor. In the center, a colossal golden table gleamed under a gently spinning ceiling fan, laden with a feast that defied logic.

Platters of succulent seafood glistened beside freshly baked bread, their aromas mingling in the air. A giant roasted chicken, its skin perfectly crisped, dominated the center. There was enough food to feed an entire army, much less a family.

Leon's mouth fell open as he took in the opulence around him. The room's elegance, combined with the sheer amount of food, reminded him of a royal banquet hall— where kings might dine.

He sat down at the dining table, and the maids served him his breakfast. His stomach grumbled as he looked at the sheer amount of food. After eating his breakfast, he went to the balcony, to sharpen his small sword that had gotten dull from his time training.

(Metal grinding.)

(Leon sighs)

The gentle breeze swept across the field, rustling the leaves in a soothing rhythm. Leon stood still, his eyes fixed on the distant horizon, a contented smile playing on his lips. The warmth of the sun caressed his skin, and he relished the peacefulness that wrapped around him like a comforting blanket.

Stolen story; please report.

As he worked on his sword, the metal catching the sunlight, he felt the subtle texture of the blade under his fingertips. He had spent the entire day meticulously honing the weapon, each stroke with the whetstone deliberate and precise, his focus unwavering, lost in the satisfaction of his craft.

When he felt that he was satisfied with his work, Leon pushed himself up off the ground and dusted his hands. He walked over to the railing of the balcony, his eyes drifting down at the vibrant garden below. A kaleidoscope of flowers in every color imaginable swayed gently in the breeze, interspersed with neat rows of ripe vegetables.

Laughter filled the air as children chased each other between the plants, their joyous shouts echoing against the stone walls. Leon's heart softened at the sight, memories of his carefree days playing hide-and-seek with his friends flashing vividly in his mind.

Sophie moved gracefully among the children, her laughter ringing out like a soft melody. Her eyes sparkled with joy as she bent down to ruffle a young boy's hair, her smile wide and infectious. The children gathered around her, their faces lit up with excitement, as they shared their stories and games.

(Children laughter)

Leon’s eyes followed the children as they played, their laughter drifting through the air. A small smile tugged at his lips, the scene pulling him back to the days when he ran through the park with his parents. He could almost hear his mother’s laughter, feel the warmth of his father’s hand on his shoulder. The memories washed over him like a familiar melody, stirring something deep within.

'Haa, this brings back memories! I wonder how my precious family is doing...' Leon thought, his eyes almost filled with tears at the thoughts of his previous family from his past life.

He hurried through the quiet, dimly lit hallways of the mansion, his footsteps barely a whisper against the marble floor. As he descended the winding staircase, the air seemed to grow heavier, anticipation curling in his chest with every step. His fingers grazed the cool iron of the garden gate, his heart thrumming in rhythm, before he slowly pushed it open.

The gates swung open with a sharp metallic clang, the hinges moving smoothly with a practiced ease. Without paying attention to his surroundings, he rushed forward—only to collide with a thud into a young girl. She stumbled back, her hazel eyes wide with surprise. Her brown skin contrasted sharply with her silver hair, shimmering in the faint light.

Leon quickly got to his feet, and the girl followed after. Both of them were blushing.

Oops, I’m sorry for—"

"Oh, it's nothing... It was all my fault," the girl interrupted, her words spilling out before Leon could finish. "If I had been watching where I was going, this wouldn’t have happened. Don’t worry about it!" She flashed him a cute, innocent smile, her hazel eyes sparkling with warmth.

Seeing the little girl smile after she had apologized to him made him feel bad for bumping into her. He wanted to say something, but he didn't because he didn't want her to feel even worse about herself even more. But he knew that he had to say something to her.

"Ah, you don't have to apologize for anything. Let's just say that it was both our faults, hehe!" Leon tried to compromise with her.

"By the way the name's Daniella, a half-elf! I'm not good with swords, but I would like to study magic at the Military Academy!" Daniella energetically introduced herself.

Daniella is a half-elf with dark brown skin, and long silver hair held up in a ponytail. She has hazel-colored eyes, that go with her cute face and slender body. She was wearing fancy clothes from that world.

To Leon, she looked pretty, because she was unlike any girl he had ever seen, both from his previous and current life.

"N, nice to meet you. My name is Leon Alexander von Blaze, I don't know what I should do with my life. So I'm not picky about my future." Leon introduced himself nervously to Daniella.

"Don't be shy about talking to me, we're practically friends already. So you don't have to worry, hehe!"

'Thanks for clearing that up for me, but I don't want to make friends in this life though. But I can't just tell her that! I might hurt her feelings!'

Daniella was staring at him after he had introduced himself as if she knew him. Leon was tempted to ask her about the old him, but he changed his mind. It was not like she was going to understand where he was coming from or what he was talking about.

"Do you want to know what I think about you?" Daniella asked him, her heart beat heavily in her chest.

"Yes, go ahead. I want to know." Leon replied to Daniella.

She paused before she spoke, "You know, you talk like a grown-up."

Leon was left speechless at the fact that a little girl said something like that to him, he was feeling some kind of way.

Daniella gave Leon a Mischievous grin. They shook hands and *kinda* instantly became friends. Then he joined Sophie's tea party and made more friends with the other boys and girls there.

After drinking a lot of tea and eating a lot of Biscuits, everyone was lying in the grass unable to move and holding each other's hands.

"Uhhh....."

"I'm filled...."

It was already late in the afternoon and the sun was about to set. Everyone said their goodbyes and left, except for Daniella who was having a sleepover with Sophie.

Daniella gave him a tight hug and ran off. "See ya later Leon-kun!!!"

Leon heaved a sigh. The garden was empty with some tea cups and plates scattered around the place, with Leon still lying on the ground.

Hopefully, Daniella Leon and Sophie can become close friends sometime in the future, bonding over shared experiences and quiet moments that reveal the depth of their connection, despite any challenges or differences they may face.
