Chapter 40. Magic studies Explanation.

Chapter 40. Magic studies Explanation.

After a while, we all settled down and started to behave. My classmates sat down next to some of the students in the class 1-E classroom.... although some of my classmates were complaining about the unfortunate situation unfolding in front of their eyes.

"Ugh, fine... but I don't get why Miss Ava can't teach us."

"Miss Ava is the only one who can teach us!"

I didn't know if to get upset that Miss Ava wouldn't be teaching us, or to do nothing and watch the way how Sir Bradley teaches.

I was confused about what I should do. It wouldn't be so hard if I had Sophie here with me...

"Be grateful that we allowed you peasants to stay in our classroom."

The same girl with black hair who wasn't too keen on us studying together spoke up. She must have really hate us...

"Yeah, don't get angry because your homeroom teacher didn't make any plans for you guys, Hehehe!" Another guy chimed in.

All of my classmates were trying to keep quiet and mind their own business. We didn't want to make problems with the other classes.

Although we were not getting along with the students from Class 1-E, nothing really happened. We just sat there listening to them complaining about having us, 1-F students in their class.

Leon's Perspective ends...

After a while, Bradley returned to the class and started to teach. He was still confused that the two classes had actually come together despite the status differences.

'I can't believe that they are getting along well. Well time to begin today's class.... and forget about everything!' (Bradley)

"Nice to see that you guys are getting along nicely. Now, since you guys are behaving, I think it's time to get started." Bradley said as he tries to hide his smile and acted serious.

All of the students started to pay attention and listen to what Bradley had to say.

Although having much more students than the 1-F class, the Class 1-E classroom was more spacious and looked more luxurious than Leon's class, that made him kinda jealous...

Leon couldn't get those thoughts of jealousy out of his head...

'Awww! This classroom looks a lot more nicer than my class, that looks plain and boring.... I wish if I were in this class...' (Leon)

Leon slumped and bent his head on the desk.

"Today we will be learning about the basic fundamentals of magic, and how we can improve or use them. Please take out your notebooks." Bradley explained to the students and ordered them to take out their notebooks.

All of the students in the classroom reached into their bags and took out their notebooks. When Leon tried to reach his hand into his bag, he noticed that he didn't bring along his notebook with him to class.

'Uh oh, I think I forgot my book at the dorm.... what am I going to do now?!'

Leon was scrambling in his thoughts to figure out what he should do. He didn't want to make a fuss about such a trivial thing. So he decided to pretend like he's still looking for his notebook.

A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

Lucky the person who he was sitting down next to noticed, and decided to lend a hand.

"Here. We can share my notebook." The person said, as he put his notebook in a position that Leon can see.

"Thank you very much..."

"No need to thank me, It's alright. "

Both Leon and the boy shared a notebook together.

"Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Edward, nice to meet you!" He introduced himself to Leon and reached out his hands to shake Leon's.

"Uhhh, I'm Leon, it's a pleasure to meet you too!"

They shocked hands. Leon had it in his mind to ask Edward the reason why the Class 1-E students hated the 1-F students.... but he didn't bother to.

'Nah, it would be inappropriate to ask that question....' (Leon)

"You two back there. Stop talking and focus!" Bradley yelled at the two of them.

"Now, let's get back to today's class. Magic... is the building blocks and lifeline of life in this world. Without magic, this world would not be formed." Bradley explained.

"There are two types of magic: Wordless and incantation based magic. Here, I will show an example of the two!"

Bradley picked up a small stick-like object on the teachers table that looked like a fancy looking wand. He aimed it to the class and began focusing on his magic.

".....alright, I'll test out a weak level spell...."

'Hopefully no one gets hurt by my magic...' ( Bradley)

Everyone braced themselves for Bradley's magic attacks. Without hesitating, Bradley started to chant a spell.

"O' flames, come to me and blaze through my enemies!"

A small fireball started to form at the tip of Bradley's wand. It began to grow and grow, and then it shat towards the students.

All of the students were frightened to see a fireball heading towards them.... well, at least the Class 1-F students were the ones who were most frightened.

Bradley just stood there looking smugly, as the fireball headed towards the students. More in particular, a girl wearing glasses from Leon's class.

When she prepared herself for the impact of the fireball, it instantly extinguished and burned out in front of her face. Leaving her shocked in the process.

Her heart was pounding like a drum after the events.

"What, are you trying to kill her? Just look at her, she's frightened!" Someone asked on behalf of the girl.

The entire Class 1-F students kinda froze when they saw what had happened.

Bradley didn't respond to the students concerns and just continued with the lessons.

"Incantation Magic exspells a controlled amount of magical energy from your body to cast spells. It is on a rarely bases that incantation based magic malfunctions. Now, Wordless spells casting is a more raw way to use magic. To use Wordless magic, you have to have a control over your thoughts, which uses a lot of magic." Bradley explained to the students, who listened intensely.

In this world magic is very valuable for many people, including for the Nobles. Magic is so commonplace that you'd even see ordinary people using it for every day chores. The people of this world are so used to using magic that they rarely do anything manually.

You can even see vendors in the market using magic instead of their hands like normal people from earth to serve their customers. It's even normalize in society, that people who can't and don't awake their magical potentials are discriminated against and blacklisted from society.

Although most of the 1-F students can use magic effectively, they are still discriminated against in the academy. That's because most of them are descendants of people who was originally from earth, and who wasn't particularly gifted with magic.

In this world magic is everything. Race, status and everything else is secondary, especially in the Holy Light Empire...

The Star Court System was created to separate the "weak" from the "strong", and from those who have Magical potentials or not.

The only generation that broke the Star Court System was Sylvester's generation, which included Leon and Sophie's parents, daniella's parents, and Ava.

Leon and his classmates were paying close attention to what Bradley was saying....

They didn't do any practical stuff for the subject, that was because time had run out when Bradley had finished going over the basics of magic. Although the 1-E students had already done them in the past two weeks.

So Leon and his classmates returned back to their class and went on with the day.

"How come you have a one star count, Leon? Didn't you hand over your uniform to get a new rating?" Scott asked Leon while they were heading back to class.

"Hmmm...? What do you mean?" Leon's face had a confused expression.

"Didn't anyone tell you? That you have to hand over your old uniform to the exam invigilator."

"No... I did not notice." Leon responded shyly and in embarrassment.

Originally, the new students have to hand over the old star count that they had on their uniforms to receive a brand new one. But since Leon didn't hand his original star count over, a new set of problems arise for him to deal with.

Scott threw his hands around Leon's shoulders and started to comfort him.

"Don't get yourself worked up about it, I'll help you get a new rating."

Leon let out a heavy sigh...
