Narcissus didn't know if there was a sect, but this was usually the case for manuals that had produced powerhouses. The powerhouses would usually gather the weaker ones to fill the ranks. They also did this to pass on their legacies and teachings in a manner that benefitted the organization.
'But Solitary Sword nerds don't group up. This much is common knowledge, at least in this sector of the System.'
The more powerful an SSS user was, the less social they were. This was common sense in the world of cultivators to anyone who knew anything there was to know about the manual. In other words, this was another open secret. Just that this was one that Narcissus had been privy to.
Divine beings like Narcissus could create countless Avatars distributed throughout the System, performing various tasks as System Controllers or Dungeon managers.
The scenarios they play out are actually true. It's just that these battlefields are ones were the enemy was weakened and replicated.
Looking at Olympus as an example, the true battle against the previous generation, the fearsome Titans, was happening in a Higher Realm. The True Bodies of Divinities and Immortals resided in Higher Realms. The Lower Realms had space that wasn't enough to hold these bodies, thus cane the use of Avatars.
It is only in unique situations like Adelda's would an Immortal level being not create an Avatar. There were benefits to working for the System.
Narcissus continued to ponder on the Solitary Sword Sovereigns.
'So the SSS powerhouses should be antisocial nerds. They wouldn't group up as a sect. At least not physically...'
Narcissus was unaware of how close to the truth he was. He came up with a question and wanted to ask something when Odysseus interrupted him.
Odysseus laughed and said, "This boy is a Natural Sovereign of the First Rank. He cultivated the Solitary Sword Sovereign Manual. He has comprehended Intent, Truth and The Breath before level 100. And to top it all off, he is a Meister!"
Narcissus was sure that if the previous news ordinary lightning, then this was a thunderclap from the ninth dimension!
"One of the rarest Classes in existence. This means that according to the system, his affinity for the Water Gate is at the peak achievable by a human."
Narcissus suddenly grew interested in Will and looked him through thoroughly on the System Interface. After a few moments of collective thought, he spoke.
"Why would he cultivate as a swordsman with so much effort? He barely did anything these last few years. How did he even survive as a Natural Sovereign like this? In fact, how has he hidden his class from other users for so long?"
Narcissus had more questions but he could only focus on a few for the moment.
Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site.
Wodin laughed and said, "We also seek the answers to these questions. As you can see, there are too many blanks in his history, and if we try to dig deeper we are restricted by the System. Considering his Class, it's not absurd to think that he caught the attention of a powerful being. One that even your father would have to respect.
Zeus' name was not one they brought up lightly. Narcissus was now thoroughly amused. 'What secrets is that boy hiding?'
After having memorized all of the details on Will he had access he started to observe the boy with sincere concentration.
Seeing Narcissus now take his duties seriously made Hercules happy. So he focused his attentions on Will once more. While logic told Hercules that if Will died under his watch, he would suffer. His instinct also told him the same.
Unlike most divinities, Hercules was born a mortal. He rose up to divinity step by step. Granted being a demigod helped, but his effort was almost unmatched within his generation. Hence his instinct was honed to high levels. He was no different from a beast according to many of his enemies. Not just because he was powerful and smart, but because of his bestial instinct.
Now that instinct, the very same instinct that told him to cherish Wills life, was telling him that this boy was exactly what he was looking for. In fact, Will surpassed his expectations.
'3 Higher Senses, all before level 100. This Sensory Perception is out of this world. Intent is somewhat common but Truth and The Breath on one person, why I haven't of that combination since-'
That's when Will's location changed. Hercules' attention was pulled to the location. The location was chosen by the Restricted Avatar. A location that was beneficial to the Restricted Avatars. This meant that it would also be beneficial to the User as well.
It was a cliff edge. The cliff itself made of black igneous like rock. Ocean waters bashed against the base of the cliff. This side of the land mass was a massive rocky formation made up of multiple cliffs. Some waves were so large they would cause the ground to shake and spray rain onto the rock. It was also already raining as is.
Thunder clouds crackled as if a raging typhoon was approaching. A lone figure stood in the rain, waiting for something. Or rather, someone. As soon as Will arrived in the vicinity, he was being gazed at by his enemy.
Will had been teleported a 13 meters in midair. As Will fell he concentrated his vision on his opponent.
It was a short man with a slim build. He had a baby face but his eyes had clearly seen many a summer.
'These eyes are produced when one has been placed in countless battles.'
It was almost as if the short man had no presence at all. He was Caucasian with long unkempt navy blue hair flowing to his waist. He was wearing kimono like attire, with two twin katanas strapped on his waist. His deep blue eyes had a piercing clarity that disturbed Will.
'I feel naked in front of those eyes.'
The blue haired warrior was standing still. Only his samurai like clothing flapped in the wind. He was like a statue, standing still while the waves of time did nothing as they crashed against him.
No presence was being given by him besides the basic markers given off by the environment. It was like he did not exist.
'My five ordinary senses can sense him. Not sure about taste but my smell is perfect so I will assume it's good. But my other senses can't feel anything.'
Will had already activated Aqua Sense and it was in full gear. He was sure that these Avatars wouldn't be friendly enough to just let you land, if you arrived second that is. But nothing happened.
'This guy hasn't moved. Those are the eyes of observation. This guy is smart and cautious. I have to be on guard-'
Will's body was now only 86 centimeters away when he blinked.
'Eh, did I blink? Why?' Will was confused. He would never allow such a thing to happen during battle. Although he didn't need his eyes when he had Aqua Sense, eyes were still an extra source of information.
When Will opened his eyes, he was stunned? The Blue haired warrior was only a meter away from Will. According to Aqua sense it was a straight dash, but what Will's eyes reported was no different from teleportation. In a fraction of a second, Will was already now facing a sword edge centimeters from his face.
The observers held their breaths as they focused. This was a crucial moment. Every observer could move much faster than Will, hence no one had trouble keeping up with the moves. But that didn't stop Will from dishing out surprises.
Clang!
The sound of swords clashing rang out.
Boom!
It was quickly formed by a deafening boom. The result of these two sounds was a Will who had summersaulted back into position, while his opponent was back in his original position with a cut on his face.
Adelda was impressed. The opponent had taken the initiative, but Will had won out in the first clash.
'But his opponent won't take this lying down.'
When Adelda had first seen who Will's opponent was she was stunned.
'If Will can force the System to pump out this freak, then the boy has potential after all.'
...
The Dungeon System Controllers had the same reaction as Adelda.
Gasps and exclamations rang out in the room. Even the usually ignorant Narcissus had to delay looking at his reflection once more.
'To bring out someone that can be identified by sight by everyone in this room, including little old me, Peerless Dao Master you must be nasty.'
