The man yawned and stretched his back as if he was waking up from a deep slumber. His bones cracked and crackled like thunder, catching the attention of everyone in the bar. Only Ignius carried on as if he was used to this.
Ignius sighed again in resignation and told the man the message that Genesis gave him. The man nodded and began to chuckle. Ignius could not find what was funny and complained, "Ezra what you are doing does not make sense. You have gained the ire of too many people now you want to get the ire of Genesis."
The man next to Ignius, also known as Ezra, simply shook his head and ordered another bottle of whiskey to drink. He cared little for the matters of the mundane world. He was a martial artist at his core who sought the pinnacle. Although he didn't seek the pinnacle for himself, he still sought it none the less.
Making him somewhat of a selfish martial artist. He had a vendetta to take care of and Solitary was part of that vendetta. Unlike Ignius, he did not hate Solitary, but on the contrary, respected him. Far more than anyone else in this world.
Ezra looked at Ignius and said, "Me and Solitary have an issue to deal with and it's none of your business. If you choose to make it your business to interfere then I will choose to make it my business to bring out my sword against you. Now be a good boy and stay here whilst I go take care of my business."
The man took one swig of his whiskey container and finished it in one gulp. He sighed in satisfaction and walked out of the bar, swaying from side to side. He was visibly drunk, but that didn't seem to affect him. Ignius looked at the drunk man swaying from side to side and once again pitied himself for entering such a situation in the first place.
Ignius started to massage his temples, stressed at the fact that he had now lost his mission and disobeyed Genesis' orders. Genesis was not a strict man; he was quite forgiving. Either way, Ignius knew that there was more than meets the eye to this matter. However, he had no choice but to give out to Ezra.
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Regardless of what semantics one might have, all would lose face in front of power, and the one with power in this situation was Ezra. Ignius knew there was no point in calling Genesis because even Genesis himself had trouble controlling Ezra. Ignius looked up into the skies and said, "I don't think there is any man in this world who can control Ezra."
Little did he know that he was far from wrong. Ezra was one of the simplest men to control in this world, you just had to drop low to his level. Ignius was a stiff man who could not drop to this level, so all he could do was just wave his hand at the bartender and order a shot of gin. Soothing his tangled nerves.
Ezra walked out of the bar swaying from side to side, heading down the road. He did not even ask Ignius where Solitary was and walked with a sure step even though he was drunk. He began to sing random songs as he walked, from time to time he would pass by other people who were going about their missions or adventures.
They would look at him like a mad man and then go away. As Ezra was doing his thing, walking alone, not bothering anyone, a group of bandits came across him and saw him as an easy target. The leader of the bandits was a young man, with a brawny body, full of vigor. The young man looked to his lieutenant and said, "That looks like easy prey, surround him and let's take his goods. On the count of 3. 1, 2, 3."
Suffice to say that within 20seconds, all the men who had surrounded and attacked Ezra were now lying on the ground headless, blood leaking out of their throats, dyeing the ground red. Ezra continued to sing and sway as if nothing had happened, but an adventurer who was far away had seen everything that had occurred.
In these lawless days where the system was king above everyone, this situation was not uncommon, but the adventurer was still shocked by the sheer skill that Ezra had shown. The adventurer stared at Ezra who was swaying from side to side, acknowledging that this was a powerful expert in disguise after seeing his instant, indiscriminate massacre of the bandits.
Ezra, on the other hand, would have argued against the young man if he knew what he was thinking. This was not a lie for Ezra was a crazy man. He was also extremely poor and had not a single coin to his name, yet despite all of this, he was one of the most important men in the world.
Anyone who knew of his true identity would shake in their boots and do whatever they could to avoid him. Ezra sighed in melancholy as he thought about all these negative connotations against him, yet he cared little for what most people thought. There were only a handful of people whose opinions he cared about and he hadn't dealt with them for the past few years.
He was a man free to go and do whatever he wished. As he walked upon his path, going straight towards Miami, Ezra started to think of the good old days. He looked up at the skies and shouted, "Will, I can't wait to see you. It has been 5 years my friend. I hope your wait hasn't been too long."
