Dragon's Breath

Ulysses was a talent in many fields, alas every human has a weakness, and he had his own. His energy was powerful, capable of easily overwhelming opponents when not restricted by his seals. But his control of energy was rather weak due to the sheer quantity of it. The mind controlled the soul which in turn controlled the body. A weak mind often resulted in weak control.

Ulysses was by no means weak-minded, but rather his mind was weak relative to his soul and body. This disparity resulted in him having poor to little restraint. He had long given up on gaining perfect control over his skills and had instead embarked down the path of overwhelming opponents with power.

This meant that his intent was strong and unending, but it could easily be affected by a superior or more skilled mind. In this regard, Ulysses was weaker than Gianluigi, who was less sensitive to intent yet had more control.

Sensitivity and control were not the same. One could have sensitive hands due to their skin, but this did not guarantee dexterity. Whereas one could have somewhat numb hands with good control due to other factors besides skin surface sensitivity.

The dragon had started to pull his Intent from the moment it was summoned. The darkness wasn't meant to just make him unable to sense but to force him to actively seek out the creature with his intent. The more Ulysses used his Intent sensitivity to locate the beast, the more it absorbed. Ulysses had failed to realise this and had fallen for Will's trap.

Adelda, high up in the Skies, was impressed by Will's display.

'Will planned this far ahead. To think his compatibility with the Realms of perspective had reached such an extent. He can make his summons vanishing points. Or perhaps this is due to the Dominion?'

Adelda looked to the side and saw a snickering Odin.

"I personally modified the boy's Frozen Asgard Arts to suit his unique set of skills. With his Hela's Dominion, not only can he have the summoned creature use Frozen Asgard Arts, but he can also have it use the Realms of Perspective."

Adelda felt chills at what the All-Father had just revealed. She found it hard to believe that there was a spell that slowed summons to share traits such as Realms with their summoners. This was the first she had heard of mortals achieving such a thing.

"This is only possible because perspective is the boy's most compatible realm of cultivation. His compatibility with the sword, water and higher senses is all fine and dandy, but his mind, its ability to change, shift, control and adjust are what truly make him unique."

Adelda knew most of what Odin had already said. She had witnessed Will grow after all. But this ability to change was what she couldn't understand. Will's mind was adaptive, but she doubted that he was that understanding of other perspectives.

Will was quite stubborn and narrow-minded. His spectrum of emotional expression was narrow. In other words, he was quite predictable. Adelda didn't know much about the Realms of Perspective, but she did know the need for a flexible mind.

"It seems you have misunderstood something young one." said a calm Odin.

It was at this point that the dragon's momentum had reached its zenith. Odin smiled and continued, "It's not about understanding others. It's about others' understanding of you."

Adelda didn't quite understand what the Al father meant here. But she had little interest in dealing with that because she noticed an oddity. Will was gathering a copious amount of mana above one of his fingers!

...

Ulysses Rijkaard was annoyed at the fact that he could not defeat his enemy. Not only that but he was also running out of time. The first seal was about to release. And that was an outcome he wanted to avoid at all costs. Because it meant he would lose the match.

'I can't lose power here. If I fall before Peerless loses he might face her. And he could be a threat. I can't allow her to be threatened by anything or anyone! If I'm going down, then I might as well take you down with me!'

Ulysses crossed his arms and summoned a shield of golden light to hover able him. The shield was circular and had depictions of muscular humanoid figures in armour fighting each other.

The shield emanated a divine power that seemed to subjugate the very air in front of Ulysses. Hela's Dominion was useless in front of this shield.

'That dragon is about to breath.'

Dragon's Breath was without a doubt the most famous skill associated with the creatures. A dragon could only be called a True Dragon if it had Dragon's Breath as an inherent skill.

A monkey was expected to be mischievous, a phoenix must be capable of nirvana and a dragon had to breathe. But this was no ordinary breath, and they did not simply breathe flames.

Dragon's Breath was a concentrated burst of elemental attributes. A dragon could freely choose what elements it could input and how much power it could put in one breath. If a dragon was cornered it could even choose to sacrifice all its World Energy in one breath!

'It's about to hit me with a breath attack made from my energy. This is ironic. At the end of the day, the only to harm me is to use my energy. If I was defeated by this, it would not have been an embarrassing loss.'

The Shield of Photos was a shield capable of not just blocking attacks, but it could also reflect energy attacks of any darkness or negative energy type. But it had its own disadvantages. It only worked against attacks coming from the front and could not be moved. The caster also could not move while it was activated. But Ulysses didn't mind. After all the only threat here was the dragon. Peerless himself was not much of a threat. Ulysses was confident that even if Peerless neared him, he wouldn't be able to even pierce his skin.

But unfortunately for him, this was not the old Will he had seen before. This was a Will in Mystic Harmony!
