CHAPTER 145 **Freedom of Choice**

On the other hand, Matthew and the rest inside of the palace room had talked for quite some time. It was not all about what had happened here in Purple Haven…But that of what they had seen because of Sahara, and if they could trust it to be real…

What Sahara had done, wasn’t like it can’t happen at all. Nearly all of them knew that seeing another’s memory could be done with a specific type of meditation, so it wasn’t like it hadn’t been known about, it was just…

What was so unbelievable, was that she had done this to so many people and it had gone on for so long!

If someone were to do this normally, five or ten minutes would be about the maximum that spiritual essence would be able to achieve…But…This time, they had started before breakfast, about five in the morning, and had gone until eight…Three hours!

Matthew had snapped out of his thoughts a few minutes after Sahara had disappeared, only to finding out that she was with Steven already. He was already worried about her being hungry and having skipped breakfast.

Did she eat something?

…After a good ten minutes, they were all able to sit back down and talk properly once again.

They had two meals and finally came to the first conclusion about what they had seen and what they should do.

Knowing that they all saw and felt the same thing, they wanted to imprison the people who had hurt people or had made a decision to have any type of involvement in the rebellion. This wasn’t going to be the end, but it was a start.

The people that they saw, who had changed sides, they would be questioned and tested. They will have a strike to their name, but may eventually be freed, in their hopes of the person willing to change and help bring Purple Haven back to civilization.

The population that they had wasn’t something that they could carelessly kill off anyone for something like this, they needed to put more faith in the people and hope that the small population will start to grow soon…As it was, from five thousand, five hundred were no longer apart of the ones that could walk around free…And that included some that had died…

So, for those who had laughed and played along in the rebellion, they would be punished, questioned and even imprisoned as well.

Since they knew exactly what many of them did, they had an idea on what punishment should be met.

What really did get to them, was that…Was that what she had shown them, had been what others told them, while they were being questioned.

It had been real…All of it!

Strange thoughts and looks found Sahara more often now, not because she was just plainly a weird person, but because she really had done something astronomical.

It was hard to know if they loved it or feared it…

When Sahara woke up, there was no choice, but to eat!

She was hungry, her little man was hungry and that was that!

But there was no way that she was doing it alone! Naruto seemed to keep very close to her and so Sahara had no choice but to let him stay on her shoulder.

Making sure not to eat with the hand that was patting the fox, so that there was no extra chance of getting sick with something, she felt that he had been all tensed up and extra clingy. She also felt like she had to give him comfort, after seeing that Naruto did fret about the fox that had died. It seemed that he felt more protective over them now and she wasn’t too sure if it was because there were less foxes to protect her or that he was scared something would happen to her. It was cute, and she did not chase him away, even though he was this clingy…

If his reasons were to only to annoy the hell out of her, she wouldn’t want to tolerate it, but Naruto must be missing his mate and so she wanted to be there for him like he was sometimes there for her too.

It was now a strange concept, because this little fox was probably related to one of the people that had transformed into a beast a long time ago.

Does that mean that there was a way to transform Naruto into a human then?

Mmm, I’ll think about this later…

While continuing to eat her breakfast, which wasn’t really breakfast now as it was a lot closer to lunch, Sahara remembered about what she would have done to these lot of idiots here in Purple Haven. She was going to get Sum for them, giving it out equally, so that each person was the same. She had even thought of giving them a white pill each, so that they knew that being good was better than being naughty!

This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.

But times have changed now, and she was no longer going to be the ‘boss’ of the people here. Well, that wasn’t the only reason, as she was a bit disappointed in them as well. It wasn’t like she was asking for too much from them, even though she was going completely out of her way to help them. Just for them to behave and help out was enough, hell, she even knew that some misbehavior was probably going to happen and had accepted it but this…This rebellion was too much! Especially since they had hurt Steven!

Sahara felt extremely sorry for Prince Seth, because this was his people and that there weren’t many of them left!

Was the rebellion possibly her fault though?

…Had she not come here to Purple Haven, these people…Would they have been fine? Would have they survived?

For the life of her, she could not believe it! They had lost their way and many of them felt grateful to have someone step up and take the lead.

People had thanked her and smiled at her, and Sahara did not think that she had been the cause of this…And if she was at fault, could someone tell her, so that she doesn’t do it again!? Simply put, Sahara didn’t know where she went wrong!

Sighing, she then decided that she won’t give them any white pills!

…So, after she finished eating, she went around and unblocked the cultivation bases of those who had not rebelled. Even though she did not ask if she could do this or not, she felt like she shouldn’t have to!

These people deserved to know that they had made the right choice, that they will now be able to live a better life, just because they didn’t rebel!

In just moments, a person was now able to cultivate once again, and Sahara gave them a good stare, “You understand why I’m doing this?”

They looked back at her, and nodded, “Thank you.”

Whether it was because of the frightening past, of months ago, or of what happened yesterday, they completely relented to this person. They had worried that they will be found guilty, because of his blocked dantian, yet they had never tied him up like many others. Always unsure on where his place was for the last couple of months, he had just two people he stayed around, who also had been ‘blocked’, and they placidly watched what was going on from the sidelines…

Not all of the blocked people were like this man though, some of them were really happy afterwards and wanted to hug her in complete relief!

Having not the power to go against the rebels, they had felt completely useless!

Some of them had not been happy to begin with but had accepted Sahara and her strange antics over time. They had been playing the sports that were newly acquired and felt like they had been able to settle down, and now they were completely glad that they hadn’t joined the rebels! Because now they could cultivate!

The women were a lot quieter but did thank Sahara. They all held rage inside of their hearts now, knowing that they were completely weak and felt like they were only made for men to treat them terribly.

Sahara tried to comfort them and seeing them still so depressed and gloomy, she got them all together and told them that she can fix them, so that they will be ‘innocent’ once again.

Half of the women looked up with expectant eyes, there was also hope and eagerness, as though doing this would solve all of their problems…But others did not. There were a few that were soulless and looked dead inside already, there was a few that harboured the intention to kill themselves. Some who were still unhappy, even if they regained their innocence, because they knew that their memories will still remember everything that had happened!

It really was a predicament for Sahara because she could understand each and every one. She could see what they went through and felt pity and pain for them. The worst of it was that she could easily feel what they felt as well. It wasn’t like her last life where she’d ‘try’ to put herself in other people’s shoes and have an ‘idea’ on what they went through…It was literally feeling what they felt as though they were her very own feelings.

Being inside their heads and knowing their thoughts and feelings gave Sahara a more thorough understanding, then that of not knowing and having to wait for them to speak their minds…

Having them think so low of themselves, she sighed heavily and knew that even if she could bring their innocence back, it doesn’t solve the problem!

Deciding on different plans for everyone, she spoke outright and firm, “Then I will give each of you a choice. Not only can I bring back your innocence, but I can erase your memory of last night. I know some of you harbor hatred and some of you harbor…A desperate need to end everything, but it is not time to end things. Purple Haven will be reborn, just like it’s people, and you can decide to live better from now on.”

Actually, Sahara could completely erase memories if she wanted to, but she didn’t. She knew that a few of them needed it though, to survive this minute, this hour…And since it was not a selfish thing to do, as she was helping others, her powers had no intention of stopping her.

As the women told her what they wanted, as a scary amount of them wished to forget last night, Sahara fulfilled their requests and completely erased what had happened, with no chance of it returning back to them. They will get no nightmares, no flashbacks and no emotional problems, as it was…Completely erased…

Afterwards, some of the women were nearly back to like they were over a day ago. Not only did Sahara fix their hymen and tighten anything that was lose, but she also got rid of any excess ‘fluid’ inside of them, if they had it, so there would be no pregnancy obtained from what had happened. Most women did want this, yet some did not choose to remove their memories.

Sahara didn’t pity those women now, she was happy for them instead. Even though they had become innocent again, they will remember how they felt and how things had occurred, they will learn or grow from it. One of them was a worry though, as she was filled with so much anger that Sahara was sure that she will only die from getting revenge, but…That woman had chosen this path, so there was nothing Sahara could do about it…She wasn’t here to control people and their feelings, they still needed to have that freedom to decide upon their journey…

Taking a moment upon that thought, Sahara bowed her head and narrowed her eyes.

If she wanted people to still remain free to do what they wanted, even if it was for revenge, how was there ever a way to stop that cycle?

There simply was just no way she could get rid of all murderous thoughts and other bad feelings from everyone!

Then what was there to do?

Putting a hand to her chin, not even knowing she was doing so, Sahara frowned. She always believed that prevention was the best medicine yet if she can’t take away bad feelings and actions from people because they should have their freedom then how was she to help ‘prevent’ the cycle from continuing?

It wasn’t just some simple act…The want to stop the cycle was becoming almost like a program full of little bits of subcategories and buttons that lead to another subcategory!

Sigh!
