Chapter 2260

Whitney demanded sternly, "Answer my question!"

Rain smiled and nodded. "So what if it was her plan? I hate talking-go on, Ida. Tell her if we can die if we bite our tongues off."

Whitney smirked. "I'm not going to do that! You're not killing us, which means you'd use us as leverage against Lugh, but I'll tell him to kill every last one of you when he comes!"

Rain chuckled. "Including your daughter!"

"Yes!" Whitney was exceedingly determined.noveldrama

Ten minutes later, at the hilltop villa, Sally was sitting on the couch, leisurely snacking while saying, "I honestly can't read you. What are you going to choose?"

Frank's eyes twinkled, but he soon composed himself and smiled. "Don't worry. It's going to be a surprise."

Another five minutes later, Rain led everyone into the drawing room, and Sally was surprised to see that Frank was not surprised.

Still, it made sense, since the Shagan spiritron vein must have enhanced his senses, and he could sense Rain as soon as he approached.

"Like I said, your kindness will get you killed!" She gloated nheless.

"And what makes you think I'm kind?"

Frank stood up, pointing at Rain as he said, "I'll admit that I didn't know he was your mole, or that you were using Sky Mystic Two to place that art wight, completing your system that was supposed to drain me.

"However, I still sensed that while the spiritron vein's energy was partially imbued in them, there was also a part of them that I can't control. That means you're prepared for anything... but you simply overestimated yourself and underestimated the power of the spiritron vein."

As Sally looked on in confusion, Frank raised his hand, and all the tendrils disappeared.

At the same time, Rain was slammed into the floor by an invisible force, immobile, while everyone else fell too!

"I-Impossible!"

Sally could hardly believe what she was seeing. It was as Frank had put it—she underestimated the spiritron vein's power.

But to be fair to her, there was just not enough data for her to predict what the spiritron vein was capable of anyway. At best, she expected that the man chosen by the Shagan spiritron vein would possess powers that were a little superior than the metahumans she made.

How could she have known that Frank was basically transcendent and was now one with nature?

That was when Frank asked, "So, can you tell me where you obtained the strange energy you used on the art wight and rain?"

Sally sighed. "Well, I guess I can tell you now that I've lost. I remember telling you that there's more than one spiritron vein-something which I happened to find out from a foreign exchange student.

"Since they were researching the spiritron vein too, I traveled abroad and managed to trick someone into granting the art wight and Rain those powers. I really thought that you'd be helpless against them, but I guess I was just being naive."

With that, she closed her eyes and spread her arms, ready for Frank's execution. "Winner takes all. There's nothing else to say now."

Whitney saw that and suddenly rushed up to stand between Frank and Sally.

It seemed that sentiment had ultimately defeated rationality, and she was going to take Sally's punishment in her stead!

"Move!" Sally tried to push Whitney out of the way, but Whitney refused to budge no matter how she pushed, proving that Sally underestimated a mother's resolve.
