"Alright, that should be about enough." I stop my moving fist with the palm of my other hand before it hits the universe eater; the impact creates an earsplitting sound that resonates throughout the entire room. "I don't know if you should be pitied or hated, you've probably eaten more worlds than I can count--you don't get to that size by skipping breakfast."
It doesn't answer; its vacant eyes are staring at nothing, clearly too out of it to even form a coherent thought. Its soul isn't even trying to expel my memory anymore, it probably realized doing that would hurt more--it's trying to digest it into experience instead, and that's going to take a very long time.
I take a look at my own soul, it's.... it's a mess. If I had to make a rough estimate, about seventy-five percent of my soul got bitten off; the damage was much more intense than I previously thought. Thankfully, a huge part of that is just the outer shell, but it's possible some memories and other important stuff got damaged in the process too.
"UM, quick diagnostic, please."
MEMORY CLEANUP
DAMAGE ASSESSMENT:
>28% OF YOUR MEMORIES WERE ACCIDENTALLY TURNED INTO EXPERIENCE DURING THE FIGHT. NONE OF THE PROTECTED MEMORIES WERE AFFECTED. SUMMARIES OF THE LOST MEMORIES CAN STILL BE FOUND.
>EXTENSIVE DAMAGE DONE TO THE SOUL'S ACHYMODEA. THIS PART OF THE SOUL IS NECESSARY TO SAFELY RAISE STATS, IT IS RECOMMENDED TO CHOOSE A WEAKER MODE UNTIL THAT PART OF THE SOUL IS FIXED.
>HER MEMORY HAS SPREAD FURTHER.
Damn, twenty-eight percent? I hope I didn't lose any good memories.
"UM, pull out the summary of the most important lost memories."
MEMORY CLEANUP

>'THE MONSTER OF THE FOREST': YOU HELPED A WEAK MONSTER IN A FOREST BECOME FEARSOME AND POWERFUL. WHAT THIS MONSTER HAS DONE WITH THIS POWER IS NO LONGER KNOWN.
I frown. I really can't remember any of those, it feels awful to lose memories like this; but when you live as long as me you need to part with some memories so that your soul don't run out of place for more important ones. Still, I wish I got to choose which memories I had to part with, this feels pretty wrong.
Hotel carefully steps closer to me, clearly unsure as if it's still safe to be anywhere near the universe eater. I give Hotel a thumbs up, I guess creating the same hallway for an eternity finally paid off--I'm actually not that good at creating physical things en masse like Hotel is; I'm better at changing the way things works, and even then I'm not that good at doing it in a hurry without the UM.
I can feel my surroundings go back to normal; making changes to a universe like this is usually a lot of work, but I did it in a much smaller space, so it was more manageable; it was still very costly in experience, I wouldn't do that on a daily basis.
Hotel asks, "I think we did enough damage to it." Hotel was pretty brutal back then, but it's pretty clear they don't like hurting people that much; this makes me smile, they can fight when they need to, but they don't enjoy it--I'm proud of them. It's kind of a miracle they turned out so good when I'm such a bad influence.
A woman's voice answers Hotel for me, "Killing it will just make things worse, it should get back into the torture machine. The world isn't into complete chaos just yet." The woman appears in front of the universe eater and grabs it by the chin. "Mhh, you did quite a number on them, what is that in their soul? Not anything bad, I hope."
I sigh. "It's pretty bad, but only bad for the universe eater. But I don't think sending it back to the torture chamber is a good idea, if it snaps again, it'll be an issue."
"It is too weak as of now to actually be a threat, if it escapes--I'll handle it," she retorts.
"But if it's weak enough for you to handle, doesn't that mean you can't teach it to be better? It's not about pity, or if it deserves a second chance-- it's about this thing going on a rampage the moment you look away."
"So you are saying that helping this...thing is the best long term solution?" She turns the universe eater's head in different directions with her hands, as if she's trying to find the perfect angle for its face.
"What you decide to do is none of my business but..." I look back to Hotel--right, I have to set a good example. "I wanted to say I'm sorry."
She raises an eyebrow. "Ho? That is unexpected."
"I acted without thinking, and even though I fixed my mistake after, I still did something that could've ended in the death of an entire--if not multiple universes. I should be more careful about the power I hold, and I should admit when I'm in the wrong." It hurts to say those words. When you're as powerful as I am, you rarely have to admit you're in the wrong because you can just fix everything without any effort. I don't think it's a good thing to teach Hotel that as long as you're powerful, you can just get away with anything.
She smirks. "I think for a mistake that big, you would need to grovel before me for me to forgive you.
"Now you're just making it weird, I'm not doing that."
She chuckles. "It was worth a try. I accept your apology nonetheless." Ethereal light blue chains circle around the universe's eater's waist. "I'm taking that thing with me. As for you two..." She snaps her fingers. "Just because we're having a nice conversation doesn't mean you should lower your guard, mhh?"
My heart stops beating.
STAT RAISING CURRENTLY LOCKED. PLEASE WAIT UNTIL THE SOUL'S ACHYMODEA IS FULLY HEALED.
Ho, right.
I cough up some blood, I'm surprised I'm still conscious--aren't heart attack supposed to kill you faste-
