Chapter 184 – Salevela Conflict 5
Dolce looked at her father. He had no expression on his face. He looked at the generals around him confidently without any senselessness. He pointed his finger at the important points without any hesitation. Masterfully, he was able to command the generals while glancing at her and Don with utter coldness written on his face.
Dolce’s face scrunched up. Her expression turned that of disgust. She left the war room and walked to the edges of the ship. A dwarf told her to be careful and did not say anything else. Henry and Elesia followed behind Dolce while still holding the rifles in their hands. Most of them looked at the fleets in front of them.
The grand spectacle was something that the two would never have thought would see in their lives. There were ships that fly up in the sky and ships that sail through the clear blue water, leaving a trail. There were humans and dwarves working together. They discussed while holding the maps of the ship. Some of them looked annoyed. Some of them looked happy talking to the dwarves.
“Milady is it alright to stay near the edge of the ship?” asked Elesia.
“Yes,” Dolce said. “I got sickened inside the war room. The presence of my father disgusts me.”
“I see,” Elesia said blandly.
Henry looked at the two and wondered. He had something he wanted to say. But he chases that thought away and stayed silent. Henry didn’t want to intrude in the confusing relationship that Alva family have. It was like putting his arm inside a beehive. It was dangerous and it will sting. He didn’t want to include himself in such farce. Elesia also warned him.
There was a gust that came from the north. Dolce’s hair swayed and she blinked. She looked at the horizon and saw the line of the ocean. The ends of the world seemed so far. The view made her calm. The angry thoughts she had inside her head disappeared like a cloud of dust in the air. She crossed her arms and lifted her breast up. She looked at the endless sky. The skyships that were different in looks and performance floated steadily up in the air. They made this humming noise.
The ocean floor could be clearly seen. Dolce was able to spot different kinds of fishes that seemed so different and monstrous. The noise that the large ship was making made these giants monsters stay. The sea that they were sailing is a part of the Gigantes Sea. Creatures of different sizes and forms lurk the clear water. Dolce felt like the ships were drifting on a mirror. As they pass, the mirror was disrupted. It was clear that Dolce wondered how it would look when it was night time.
There was a breeze again. Dolce tucked her fist into her pockets. She looked up and saw a peculiar bird with an arm-size beak. The bird has two horns and four eyes. Its wings were so sharp that it glistened. It glided through the sky freely. The bird met eyes with Dolce. The bird turned its eyes away and glided away from the fleet.

...
Dolce was led to a room three floors below the deck. The room was eccentric. It was like a metal prison and through the circular glass, she could see the rows of fishes that swam with its school. The fishes made Dolce stunned. She felt afraid that the circular glass would break. But even though some fishes would bump their scaly heads at the glass, they didn’t do anything.
Dolce took her coat off and dragged a chair near the window. She looked at the circular window. She spotted the coral reefs and the cone-shaped mounds that releases hot air. Some fishes swam near these mounds and floated near it. Dolce turned her eyes at the distance. She spotted a boat-sized fish that had spots on its scaly body. The creature has giant fangs the size of an average human. The eyes of the giant fish were as big as a wheel. The fins of the creatures made the smaller ones disperse.
The creature’s head turned down. It roared and the shockwave caused by it made the glass that Dolce was looking at making this thud sound. Dolce took a step back, her heart pounded. She glances at the wall and saw that there was this switch. She pulled the switch down and the glass window was closed down. The room became dark. Dolce turned to the other switch and turned on the light.
The room got brighter. Dolce sat on her bed and swayed her legs. She took the tube that was given to her as she was lead here and opened it. She pulled the rolled letter inside and started reading it.
“The fleet will soon arrive at the island. Please prepare yourself my dearest sister. It will be best if you can join me when we assault the beach. But if you wished to, then you can always command your skyship to drop the barrel bombs that the dwarves have created for the occasion. The fleet will surround the island. The barge ships will send the soldiers while the rest of the skyships will start their assault at the center of the island.”
“I see,” Dolce muttered. She crunched the paper and threw it in the wastebasket near the table. She laid her back on the bed. She looked at the ceiling while trying to sleep. The ship made a lot of noise. She wanted to back to her skyship but her crew wanted to make sure that the skyship was okay. It has been flying nonstop and they needed to make sure that it would be functional if Dolce would join the battle.
She wasn’t given much of a choice so she asked for this room. It was quite noisy but it was better than waiting outside where the snow started falling again.
Dolce thought of the incoming event that her bother has crafted. She would soon witness the death of her father. Her father who didn’t even give him any sort of affection other than the cold greeting, it made her think that indeed, her father was long gone.
