Chapter 169

Chapter 169 –

The remaining assailants saw Alexander. Feeling that he was a threat, they pounced on them with their claws. They were fast and before Alexander could react. Blood spurted out of Alexander’s body. The assailants pierced Alexander’s body. He was a like a wine barrel that got poked.

There was a cruel smile on their faces. But as they look up they saw Alexander’s stoic expression looking down at them. “Sorry, that only took fifteen life points. Back off.”

Alexander twisted his left hand and produced a shockwave that made the assailants flung. Alexander’s whiter hair billowed as his dilated beast-like eyes calmly gazed at them. He made a gesture with his left hand again and there was a finger flicking sound. He vanished.

The remaining assailants tried to peer through whatever illusion Alexander was using. But before they could see Alexander through their eyes, one of them had their brains blown up. “Who doesn’t bring any firearms today?” he commented, disappearing again.

The six of them back off. This time they sharpened their senses father than it should be. Their hearing became sharp and they chanted a spell that lit a bright light that somehow dispelled Alexander’s camouflage. Alexander didn’t panic at that. He calmly raised his pistol and shot one of them.

Another one died!

This infuriated the assailants. They rushed at Alexander and broke his pistol. Without his pistol how could Alexander kill them immediately! That’s what they thought.

But Alexander said with a calm demeanor. “Close quarter combat huh?” he stared at the assailants. One of them threw a straight punch at Alexander, intending to hit his head. But Alexander took a step to the right. He caught the wrist of the enemy with his left hand. He tightened his grip and pivoted his elbow at the enemy’s arm. The arm of the enemy broke like a twig. Alexander put his arm near his neck and forced it through the neck of the enemy.

The enemy’s throat got ruptured. He didn’t let the enemy off. He put his palm on the enemy’s forehead and with an exhale. The enemy’s head exploded into tiny pieces. Another one of them died. There were only five remaining of them.

The others were killed by Joshua. But Alexander didn’t stop at two. He poses his arms up and dashes at one of them. He threw a low right kick at the enemy’s ankle. It broke easily and with the enemy’s posture broken. He crooked his right arm and drove his elbow at the enemy’s clavicle. He then grabbed the enemy’s head and kneed him right in the chin.

The enemy’s eyes rolled back. He laid flat on the ground. Alexander did not show any mercy. He stomped on the enemy’s larynx. The enemy died and before the other one could sneak attack, Alexander. He strikes his elbow at the enemy’s stomach and grabbed the dagger hung on his belt. Making use of the dagger, he slit the throat of the enemy and then threw it at the other one.

“You are the only one left,” said Alexander with a frosty expression.

The remaining minion could not help but laugh helplessly. Just minutes ago they were confident that they could kill the last of the elf and her companions. But now the tables have turned. Every one of them was dead except for him! It happened too fast!

“We still have them right?” he thought of the others.

“Ah,” Alexander made a sound. “By the way, the others who tried to blow my head are dead. Honestly, if your people didn’t try to fuck over my sky cruiser. I wouldn’t be here. But you fucked it up. Now I have to kill you.”

His thought the moment Alexander finished speaking was to run. He tried to turn around and escape but he felt something wrapping around his abdomen. He looked down and saw that Alexander has already grabbed hold of him. He tried to escape but he was flung near Alexander and was on his knee.

“Will you kindly tell me who sent you?”

“The High Lords will have you all pay for this,” he said sternly.

“I see,” Alexander nodded his head. He put his left palm at the enemy’s temple and said. “Then may you go to whatever God you worship.”

The enemy wasn’t allowed to reply back. His head was blown apart by some invisible force. Behind the enemy, his brains dyed the flower patches. It spread like a wing. The wind from the obelisk finally died down. Eiya descended down and kneeled exhausted. She took a glance at the dead and said.

“This sacred place has been defiled.”

“Better than us being dead,” Alexander replied. “Is the ritual done? Will they show up here? Or do we need soldiers stationed here?”

Alexander had many things to ask. Eiya looked at her and answered. “Yes, the ritual is done. I doubt that they’ll be able to screw with the pillars for the barrier. It won’t be damage no matter what. At best they would have to rid me of my life.”

“That’s good,” Alexander took a big sigh. “So do you need only a few more then?”

“Yes,” she said with a nod. She looked at Alexander whose body was covered in blood. “Would like you some help?”

“No need,” he raised his palm and shrugged. “I am a mutant. My injuries will heal soon. Besides, I have a constitution that allows me not feel the pain.” he then looked at the tattoo on the back of his left palm. The numbers were back to one hundred.

Joshua had a cold expression. But when the enemies were killed he slowly calmed down. The pain in his heart lingered but this was not the place to look sad. “You are pretty strong, man,” he told Alexander. “You took them down with finesse.”

“I have training,” he said. “Besides, having superhuman strength helps.”

“So you are a mutant?” Joshua asked.

“Yep,” Alexander casually said. “I drank some mutagens and got turned into one.”

“Does being mutant come with that kind of power?” Joshua inquired.

“Not really. I learned that from a friend. He was a mutant but he was long gone now.”

“I see,” Joshua nodded. “Thanks, Alexander, good thing you were here.”

“No problem,” he smiled. “How about we get out of here? I rather not stay here in this place. Or should we bury them?”

Alexander’s eyes turned to Eiya. She wondered what to say. But when she looked at the appearance of the three, she shook her head and answered. “No, we should leave them be here.”

“You got it.”

Then the four traveled back to the sky cruiser. Along the way, they saw corpses of other men and arriving at the skyship. Joshua, Eiya, and Archie were shocked to find that there was a pile of corpses. Alexander boorishly explained and after that, they left the area.
