Chapter 4: Her time in the forest

Chapter 4: Her time in the forest

Waking up, she felt strange. Even more so then when she woke up the first time in this world. She felt something like arms, but at the same time not. She could also hear a lot of sounds.

Turning around, she noticed the two swishing tails bahind her. She was pleasently suprised to find that she could move them as if she always could. It didn't take long for her to reach for her head, finding cat-like ears. She went to the pond she found the previous day to check herself out more in detail.

She also discovered that her eyesight, sense of smell and touch had all vastly improved. She could feel the vibrations in the air, and hear or see from 200 meters perfectly.

Once she reached the pond, she looked and was shocked to find that her eyes had now slitted pupils like those of cats. Her human ears were gone, and her new cat ears were the same silver color of her hair, matching perfectly. her tails were seemingly blue, but also seemed white. It reminded her of the the electric discharges the scientists would sometimes throw on her. Those were rather painful. Trembling at the memory, she shook her head. Sitting down with her feet in the water, she looked at herself more throughtly. She still remained mostly the same, but her teeth and nails were now even sharper, almost resembling claws. Her feet also had become sharper, but they felt more like they had improved in balance. It was a wierd feeling.

She moved her long tails and examined them. They resembled those of cats, with quite a bit of fur on them, but not so much to be in the way. They also felt very good when she stroke them, caressing them and grooming her tail like a cat. She giggled a bit, and felt as if she should also start licking herself like the cat of the scientists used to. It was one of the few beings along with the other subjects who could understand her pain.

After properly grooming her tails, she tried going into the water, but felt very repulsed to do so. Could it be that the cat's dislike of water had transferred over to her? She didn't mind much, but she really wanted to try going into a hot tub or something like that.

Following this day, she started hunting day and night. She fought many different kinds of animals, and every time she devoured them, she could feel her strenght increase, her stamina was almost endless now, and she could fight 20 wolves for over 5 hours without rest. She didn't change anymore, only her insides seemed to do so, strenghening themself. Her skin seemed fragile, but was unmoved if smashed by a wierd green bipede 3 meters tall. She met a lot of new animals, some of them reminded her of the fantasy stories she used to read. Rabbits with horns on their foreheads, dogs with 2 heads, beavers that came in swarmes, bears as big as houses. She was somewhat disappointed that they all felt weak, and with every kill they felt weaker and weaker. She wanted a strong creature, one that would give her a challange so she could improve herself.

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

Over the course of a month, she had trouble finding a creature in 10 kilometers around the pond, which she made her base. She once smelled something that she tought to be a human, and fled as fast as she could. She was now extremely proficient in using her claws and tails. She would sometimes use them to strangle a creature to death, smash others to bits or rip them in two. Those tails felt even stronger then her own arms. They could smash a tree to bits easily and helped a lot in balancing herself. They were way too sensitive though. If something even remotely injured them, it felt as if something stabbed her in the stomach.

There was one time where she was simply lazing around after having devoured another pack of wolves, when she suddently looked at her tails and tried to get them but couldn't. She tried again, and again failed. This earned her a tick of irritation, and soon enough she was chasing her tails in a circle, and only after a full day of curses and hisses did she stop, realizing that she could just move them. This got her laughing hard at herself.

She was truly enjoying life in these woods. They felt as if they were her home. No, they were her home, there was no doubt about it anymore in her heart. She loved the wilderness. She loved the feeling of not caring at all about other people, about having to worry about those stupid scientists. She felt free.

However, she also knew that she had to move soon. This spot was simply not productive enough, and she could guess that this forest belonged to some kind of country, as she sometimes found traps for small animals and once found a group of knight-looking people roaming near her zone. She would soon earn the wrong kind of attention, and she wanted to avoid that.

Finally, a month and a half after devouring the tiger, she finally settled her mind, she would find someone to bring her out of here and become an adventurer, where she would earn enough recognition and money. She would then use the money to buy a large chunck of forest, and she would spend her days roaming the woods hunting.

There was only one problem though.

Clothes.

...

Lack of thereof.

...

Fuck...
