Chapter 1 : Freed at Last

Chapter 1 : Freed at Last

"Welcome, Lord Christian, to our humble laboratory. How may I help you today?"

The tall, tanned man asked the slightly shorter, brown haired man.

"Do not worry professor. I am merely here to check on your Creature. I have received an order from someone... Above. Bring me to it immediately."

The professor, slightly confused, nodded and gestured for him to follow. They exited from the reception room, went past the dark hallways and descended countless stairs. Finally, after 30 minutes, they finally arrived at a dead end. At it's end, a pair of red eyes glowed brightly.

Christian was slightly taken aback, he had been a messenger for countless millennia, however, he never once saw eyes such as these. They were strangely captivating, as if they wanted to devour your very soul. They left the feeling of wanting to become a corrupted existance such as the creature.

Sighing, Christian turned to the professor "professor, if I may talk to it, I request to do so in private. May you leave?" It didn't sound much of a request as much as an order. The professor, getting increasingly worried, nodded. He spent a lot of time experimenting with this creature, he hoped he didn't bring about the wrong kind of attention. Crossing his fingers, he left the hallway and went back to the laboratory aboveground.

Christian secretly used his Divine Sense to check if the professor had truly left, and once he confirmed that such was the case, he turned to the creature. Now that he had a better look at it, it reminded him of a simple human, but with glowing red eyes. He was wondering what kind of things happened to this poor soul, stuck at a laboratory for over 50 years...

Sighing again, He turned to it and simply asked "Do you want another chance? Do you want your wishes fullfilled?" He swore he could see the creature's eyes glowing even more red then before. They looked... Strange. He could almost feel the emotions going through them. Suprise, Anger, Relief, Hate... there was another emotion, but he couldn't quite figure out what it was.

After staring at each other, the creature slightly nodded it's head. It was still encased with shackled all around it's body, in a 20x20 prison surrounded by metal bars with no obvious entrance.

As if on cue for that moment, Christian swiftly took out a little red ball from his pockets and tossed it to the creature, whom looked at it confused. It looked at Christian confused, and saw as he gestured for it to eat the ball, afterwards swiftly leaving.

The creature looked at the ball. Remembering those times. Those times it could still feel happiness, and not solely that accursed feeling. That accursed feeling that forever haunted it ever since he it been captured, only because he was 'special'.

The creature slowly crept forward, the chains straining as it bent down, and swallowed the ball from the ground. it frowned when it felt a burning sensation inside of itself, and then everything went black as it's consciousness was destroyed.

--

When it woke up, it was inside of a white room. Well, it didn't look so much as a room as the world itself. Everything was white, so white it hurt its eyes.

After rubbing it's eyes a bit, it looked around, searching for anything of importance. After a while, a woman started appearing. As if she came out of nothingness, the outline appeared, then the rest of the body. She looked at the creature, whom was eyeing her, waiting to determine if she was hostile.

"Huh. So you are The Creature. I am truly sorry, my child, for what happened to you. I am the True God, or at least such is the title bestowed upon the strongest god in existence. It was my fault for blessing you with your 'gift'. Although now that I look at your past, I'd call it more of a curse... To think immortality made people react like this. Please forgive me, my child"

Yes, the creature's gift was immortality. No matter how much it was destroyed, it would forever regenerate. It also prevented starvation, dehidritation, suffocation, disease. It doubted it was truly immortal, but so far it had never found anything that could kill it. It stopped aging after 15 years of it's life, it was then that it gained the accursed eyes. It liked them, it found them pretty, but no. It's parents just had to give it to the doctors, whom said that he was going to die, only to make it so it's parents sold his 'body' to the scientists. it was then brought to experimentation labs all over the world, where it was experimented on indefinitely. Moreover, They didn't bother to feed it, thinking it was unnecessary.

The god then spoke again "Child, I can send you to a world where maybe you will be able to make up for your past life. I will give you other gifts, with whom this time, along with your experiences, will be able to defend yourself. Name your wishes, and i will grant them to you."

The creature frowned, then smirked, grinning from ear to ear in a very creepy manner. The scientists had forced it to learn how to fight barehanded, it still remembered when it was devoured by a bear, only to tear it apart from the inside out, fun times, fun times...

The creature then spoke the first words in 49 years: "I wish to be able to devour any creature, and gain it's strength, powers, skills. I also wish to be able to be immune to seals, slavery magic or whatever stuff that blocks your free will there is on that world. Never again am I going to be enslaved. Also, allow me to modify the structure of my body based on whatever other creatures i devour. Also make it so i don't have any problems eating different creatures, be it burned, raw, melted or whatever."

The god was slightly perplexed, it expected the creature to ask more. As she was about to send the creature away, it then remembered something. "Before I forget, if I'm not wrong you were male before the dna modifications from the scientists, do you wish to return to be..." the god could not finish speaking before the creature almost screamed "NEVER! I DON'T EVEN WANT TO REMEMBER THIS HELL! CHANGE ME TO FEMALE OR SOMETHING! I DON'T EVEN CARE ANYMORE, JUST SEND ME AWAY FROM THAT ACCURSED WORLD!" it then broke, crying rivers of bitter tears and sobbing. It had lived a life that can't even be called that. Treated less than an animal, no rights, no food, constantly kept a secret, he was constantly chained, guarded all day long with no one to talk to but doctors who would punish it for even twitching. All of this for 50 years. it doubted its family still lived, and even if they did, it would have long been forgotten. The 'gift' even made it impossible for him to become mad or lose his sanity, as it would simply heal right back up.

The god finally realized that the facade that the creature had put up for all these years had finally been broken. She picked it up while creating a chair for her to sit on, and put it on her lap, caressing it's waist long sky blue hair, whom had been made this color by accident during an experiment. In between the sobs and hiccups, she slowly caressed it and said "It's alright~, It's alright~. It's over now." over and over again. She kept stroking it, and the creature buried it's face in her bosom, crying and sniffling, trying to forget.

After a long time, she put it back onto the ground(?) it looked at her, still sniffling a bit. She then asked "Do you want to remember this life?" She was hesitant to ask, as she hoped it would want to remember, after all, spending 50 years with the most accomplished scientists does come with some knowledgitical perks. Also, the world she wanted to send it in was not a very gentle one, but she knew it was where it could possibly find happiness. The science he hated so much wasn't there, and besides there he might find someone who would accept it.

The creature looked up at her, slowly nodding it's head "Yes... Can i keep them please? I don't want to forget and make the same mistake..." it said in a low voice at the end. The god thought for a second [Mistake...? does it mean trusting others?] she thought about it and then shrugged.

"Child, According to your wishes, you will be reborn into the world of Nagara. In this world, magic and other races exist. You will not exactly be human either in mind anymore I suspect nor in body." The creature visibly flinched at being called not human. It made it remember all the times it had been called things like Animal, Creature, Abomination... "But you may find companions. This world has powers that people sometimes posses. It is governed by low tier gods, whom I made sure won't annoy you. Your power shall be called 'Starvation March'. This ability will grant you the full strength of the creature, however, you will gain almost nothing if the creature is a lot weaker then you. You also have a chance at staling it's abilities. This is not however, like the RPG system of your games. There is no such thing as statuses. Your other power shall be 'Immortal Body&Soul'. It will grant you 100% resistance to enslavement type magic and mind manipulation magic, as well as a body that can infinitely regenerate. Lastly, your last power shall be 'Body Transformer' You will be able to modify your body according to what you eat. As per your request, you will be reborn as a girl. Have fun in this world"

Before she could send it to the other world, the creature asked in a low voice filled with hope "Will I... Be able to see you again...?"

She simply smiled and nodded. "Just pray for me, and maybe I'll be able to reach you. Don't worry child, you're not alone anymore".

She kissed it on the forehead, and the creature vanished.

The god sighing, mocking herself "Just how can I call myself a god when my child itself suffers a fate like that... Poor creature. Heh, to think even I call it that treacherous nickname... what a terrible mother I am. After all, I never even told it I truly was it's mother..." The god had a silent tear trailing down her cheek, only to fall into the white abyss below.

The god, silently crying, snapped her fingers, and the space disappeared.
