Chapter... Color map

I’m colors! A flash in your eyes.

A blur of wonder, a sight of delight.

I’m bright, I’m dark, an unusual spark!

Yet, I’m invisible, everyone ignores my mark.

Mayan, the Ocean Fairy.

(This quote will most likely be reused later, but I just couldn't resist to come up with a fun quote! I love making these <3)

This isn't a real chapter or a part of the story. This is simply a request by a few readers.

A request I've decided to fulfil.

Inquiries have been made about the colors, and a color map had been requested for all of Marisha's inner monologues.

Allow me to say first that the colors have more than one meaning. There's the basic meaning that exists to hide a few more deeper story related events.

That being said, due to the high number of coloring, people rightfully asked for the basic meaning of each color to be explained.

As been pointed out by multiple readers already, Marisha’s mind is fractured, her emotions and trauma are all over the place. This is the first and most basic thing the colors are there for. Emotions and mindsets.

Now, not to worry, they hide more than just that in them, as chapter 36 just demonstrated for you all. Enjoy that cliffhanger! But to provide explanations while avoiding spoilers, I’ll provide the basic emotional meaning of each color.

Each color is tagged under spoilers for those who wants to figure them out on their own or those who simply want an example for a single color.

So here it is:

Purple:

Color of focus and mind clarity for Marisha.

It represents: Focused. Calculated. Analytical. Conclusive. Understanding. Rational. Attentive. Concentrated. Assertive.

So this is what it means. Now I get it.

Bright purple:

Color of pride and high self-esteem for Marisha.

It represents: Cocky. Pride. Boastful. Cheeky. Conceited. Arrogant. Overconfident. Smug. Haughty.

Ha! I knew that what the colors meant. It was obvious.

Deep purple:

The color of care and family for Marisha.

It represents: Family. Friends. Platonic love. Fondness. Caring. Tenderness. Warmness. Adoring. Affectionate. Friendly.

It’s nice, having so many people care about this. It warms my heart. My family will be thrilled!

Pink:

The color of love and romance for Marisha.

This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it.

It represents: Romantic love. Devotion. Endearment. Love flustered.

Oh gosh, did he just look at me?

Reddish pink:

The color of embarrassment and shyness for Marisha. You won’t see this one early on, she’s not a shy person.

It represents: Embarrassment. Awkwardness. Self-consciousness. Humiliation that Marisha agrees with (another color if she’s offended by it.)

I did not just say that. That didn’t happen! Nope, memory wipe the past few seconds. Yeah…

Skin color:

The color of lust for Marisha.

It represents: Lust. Desire. Urges (Mostly sexual in nature) passion.

I just need someone to touch me right now. I don’t even care who. I want it! I need it!

(Yes, I know it's not exactly skin color. But something like this, is really hard to see on a white sheet which I originally wrote it on. Also that color is right between pink and orange which is a perfect fit.)

Orange:

The color of joy for Marisha.

It represents: Joy. Fun. Energetic. Manic. Satisfied. Refreshed. Pleasure. Enjoyment. Amusement. Excitement. Relaxed. Glee. Cheerfulness. Playful. Bliss. Euphoria. Gluttony.

Ohhh this chapter was sooo good! Gimme another to read!

Brown:

The color of realism for Marisha.

It represents: Realistic. Ruthless. Sarcastic. Ironic. Practical. Pragmatic. Selfish. Utilitarian. Self-deprecating. Greed.

Done dreaming about gold and roses? Good, because you’ve got a book to write, get back to it.

Dark red:

The color of justice and cold anger for Marisha.

It represents: Justice. Judgmental. Righteous. Moral high ground. Calm anger. Cold hatred. Irritation. Critical. Self-critical. Fault finding. Disapproving.

You should have done better. This was careless. People aren't supposed to figure out what's happening behind the scenes. Foreshadow better!

Bright red:

The color of Panic and overreaction for Marisha.

It represents: Panic. Violent anger. Uncontrollable hatred. Dark desires. Vengeance. Violence. Survival instinct and desire to live. Out of control emotional outburst. Wrath.

I will not let them get away with this! No fucking way!

Yellowish-Green:

The color of disgust and disdain for Marisha.

It represents: Disdain. Sneer. Disgust. Repulsed. Sickened. Nauseated. Loathing.

Ew! He did not just do that, yuck!

Green:

The color of curiosity for Marisha.

It represents: Inquisitive. Curious. Guessing. Interested. Intrigued. Awe.

I wonder what the other meaning behind these colors are, it got to be something along the lines of Marisha’s mental stability, but how does it connect to basic emotions? Is there anything more to it as well?

Light blue:

The color of hope and happiness for Marisha.

It represents: Hope. Optimism. Happiness. Positive. Contentment.

I hope this story turn out well. I hope it’ll bring me happiness and I'll keep on writing it for a very long time…

Blue:

The color of anxiety and fear for Marisha.

It represents: Fear. Anxiety. Worries. Threat assessment. Agonizing about choices. Angst. Dread. Unease. Envy.

I wonder what people will think if they knew how I really started this color thing…

Dark Blue:

The color depression and apathy for Marisha.

It represents: Depression. Sadness. Detachment. Apathy.

It doesn’t matter anyway… who will even read this stuff if they even see it to begin with?

Gray:

The color usually represents deep exhaustion and fatigue.

It represents: Exhausted. Fatigued. Tired. Sloth. Laziness. Inability to function.

I’m just tired of working on this… I need some sleep, my head hurts…

This covers the important ones and the emotional ones.

That being said. Don’t forget that I hide things in these colors. There are more than just that.

Like...

gLoWiNg EyEs!!!

I really hope this was satisfactory. And I hope you all enjoy the rest of my story...

And that cliffhanger!

Thank you all for your support, and for caring enough to ask me to do this. Means a lot to me!
