Knowledge Again?

When William entered the cave, he saw that the little wolf was inside the cocoon again. He had already returned the same day, not expecting much change.

After he entered, the old wolf followed.

William had to ask, not knowing how to call him.

“How would you like me to call you?”

The old wolf froze at this question. He remembered having been given a name by his ancestor before, but it took him a long time to remember what it was. William waited calmly for about twenty minutes, not interrupting his thoughts.

After much thought, the old wolf replied in exasperation.

“I forgot my name. You can call me 'Reyis' instead." ('Reyis' means: head, chief, chairman. Sometimes; Boss)

William nearly burst into laughter. It was definitely a name befitting a wolf. Since he was a Turk in his previous life, 'Reyis' was a form of address he encountered very often.

Still, he didn't laugh and spoke solemnly.

“Reyis, I brought a bronze-level contract. Will it work?"

“It should.” He said looking at the cocoon.

“Should I do it now?”

“Yes, his body is still changing right now. I would say he is at his weakest.”

"I'm leaving then?"

"Go! Why are you waiting?" He spoke slightly angry.

"Ok."

William came slowly to the front of the cocoon. He was also very excited. He knew he was going to get a strong pet.

He opened the contract and sent qi into it. Then he pointed with his finger to the wolf in the cocoon.

Two invisible qi streams emerged from the contract. One went into William's heart, the other into the little wolf's cocoon.

William met with formidable resistance a few seconds later. He was sure that he wouldn't have been able to stay calm without the headband on his head. It was as if he was experiencing the most painful migraine in the world right now.

He felt his brain almost explode. Then something more miraculous happened. He began to 'see' the inside of his head. Inside was something resembling his own body. But it was extremely transparent. On this figure's arm, he could see a tattoo identical to his own.

'Is this my soul?' he thought. The size of the figure was barely a finger. He could not interfere with this figure right now. The figure just stood there with his eyes closed, suspended in midair.

Shortly after, a wolf figure began to appear. Its size was almost twice William's. This meant that the spirit of the wolf was strong. The little wolf was staring at William's soul with angry eyes as if he would attack at any moment.

As William was about to leap to devour his soul, William felt a painful voice in his head.

"Don't resist, let the contract be done." The voice was saying. He understood that this voice belonged to the old wolf. Because he had heard it before.

The little wolf stopped attacking halfway through. He stood in place with angry eyes and began to watch the little figure.

William was glad that the old wolf had helped him. Otherwise, he was sure that he would injure his soul right now. It was like that even when the little wolf was weak in spirit. What would it be like when the bloodline got its full power? He would learn the answer to this question later.

William poured more qi onto the scroll. With that, the little figure awoke and slowly began to glide into the wolf's soul. He came near her and touched her forehead. The little wolf didn't resist but made a pained grimace.

It was a painful procedure for him as well. Later, a piece of the little wolf's forehead broke off, but that piece was immediately renewed. William's spirit swallowed the piece he had torn off. Then William began to have mixed feelings.

The qi power in the contract was exhausted and the contract burned into nothingness. The little wolf's spirit slowly disappeared from its sight. He could feel her soul fragment in his mind. He felt like he could kill her with one command right now, 'punish' him if he disobeyed his command.

Then he opened his eyes and looked at Reyis.

"Is that all? Okay?"

"I guess." Said Reyis, who also had a strange facial expression.

"After all, I'm not a human being, I don't know how the handcuffs you call contracts are used."

"You're right, I can't say I know much either, but right now I feel like I can make him do whatever I say."

“Good, then successful.” Said Reyis, shaking his huge head.

“He will be in the cocoon for another month, for now, follow me.” Said.

"As you wish."

The two of them came to the big cave where Reyis lived.

Reyis reached under the same light again and began to speak.

"What's your name human?"

“William.” He calmly replied.

"William...I don't know what it means, but I hope it's good."

“It means strong.” He said and smiled at William.

"Beautiful." Reyis sighed and closed his eyes. After a while, he opened it and continued talking.

"William, you know this is an island, right?"

“Yes, I heard it from a wizard friend of mine. He said it was a prison.”

“Is it jail? Peh! They don't know anything." There was contempt in Rey's eyes.

William was taken aback. He was on the verge of going crazy now. What someone said A, someone said B. He didn't like false information. But after thinking about it, it just didn't make sense. 'Why would Etha lie? What will it benefit? Didn't he know too?'

Rey squinted her eyes and continued to speak.

“At that time, I was very, very young. I was just a newborn baby. We came here with a teleport ring and metal cages.”

'The teleportation circle? Etha said that's how he came.' Then Reyis's last words came to his mind.

“With a cage?” He asked in surprise.

“Yes, with a cage. This place was originally the property of a noble from the Golden Lion Empire. This unique expanse of land belonged to them alone. My father was one of the comrades of that nobleman.”

“Is it REAL? DOES THIS HUGE CONTINENT BELONG TO ONLY ONE FAMILY?”

Reyis looked at him with his head tilted to the side. “What did you think?”

"I do not know." William would go mad with surprise. What do you mean only a noble's property? What concept was this? Did this island inhabited by four kingdoms belong to only one noble? Was this the noble emperor's bastard or something?

“Anyway, one day, the creatures that kept order on the island, including my father, went to war. That was the last time I saw them.”

“War? A war of this level must be extremely large.”

“Yes, my father was stronger than I am now. They must have died in battle." It was a little sad after that point. Obviously, they had feelings too. William was surprised every day in this world.

Continued. “I understood this from the termination of the contract of the four guardians left on the island. With the four guardians free, they no longer heed the remaining orders of their former masters. For the sake of empowerment, they shared the island. They are sucking all the resources into themselves.” Said.

William could understand it because he had heard it before. “Well…people? It couldn't have been that many people came out of nowhere, and elves?"

“Heh, you humans have very good reproductive abilities.” He said smiling.

“Actually, there weren't that many people back then. All the people here were servants of that noble family.”

William was not surprised by this. A noble of this size must also have a large family.

"Wow! So the maid, huh?" he complained.

“Yes, all humans are descended only from servants. In fact, the light talent of the human kingdom, which is currently closest to us, is also due to the talent of the third servant.”

William was starting to feel nauseous as he learned new information day by day. Sometimes he even wished he was just a mindless idiot. Just like now.

Reyis continued to speak. Clearly, it was good for him to pour himself out. Moreover, William's confused face amused him.

“Three thousand years! Language is easy. Humans have been able to multiply this much in three thousand years.”

“ Three.. How many?” Again, William felt himself on the verge of insanity.

“Three thousand years. I am three thousand years old.” said the old wolf calmly.

"How?" William felt he was going to faint. 'Enough!' he shouted inside.

“Why are you so surprised? You humans can be long-lived too. Ours is born, of course, that's different."

“I can't follow anymore. How can I live this long?" he asked. His greed was now at its peak. From the very beginning, he feared that he would not live long enough to fully explore this world, but now he could see a solution.

"Very simple. You just need to get stronger. Once you reach the silver level, you will feel your lifespan extended.”

William nodded in understanding. He would have to experience certain things. 'According to the stories I have heard since my childhood, it is not even possible for me to walk between two cities unless I am stronger.'

'The only solution is to get stronger.' Said.

He had completely blown his mind. Sometimes he didn't know he needed to relax. Right now, he could put all his peers to the sword, but as he wanted to reach higher heights, this relaxation would constantly disrupt his work.

“There is a reason why I asked you for blood using your talent. Maybe you don't realize it, but the magic you cast is very scary. You can purify and extract blood. That's why I told you not to show it to anyone. If anyone finds out, you become the target of the greedy and powerful. You should only use this ability for yourself, not even for your family.”

"I understand. Don't worry, I know what greed is, and avoiding those looks is my specialty.”

William was whining again.

“Anyway, prepare me three servings of the silver moon wolf's pedigree blood. If I can level up, I will challenge one of the guardians to get you off this island.”

“That easy, silver moon wolf bloodline isn't pure enough. Send some bronze rank wolves and I'll handle it.”

"Okay, you can go now."

Then something seemed to have occurred to William. “Do you have some more of that spirit fluid? The one the silver wolf brought me?" he asked.

“Are you talking about my saliva?” he said, slightly opening his mouth, and William saw that the saliva resembled the same spirit fluid and radiated spiritual power. “It takes a long time to do this, but I can give it a little more.”

“Borgghh!” William gagged. 'Damn! It really drooled!' he said inside. He gagged as he remembered swallowing his saliva with pleasure. He had nothing to vomit, as his stomach was empty.

He left in a hurry, without making Reyis suspicious, thanking him.

"It's okay, I'll get it later." He said as he left.

'Damn.'
