When William returned to the cultivation room, he kept the doors closed for a long time. He trained until he could use each technique perfectly. Moreover, after the meditation technique was completed, he gave his name again. “William's meditation.” This technique could truly be one of the best meditation techniques ever. He could even go further in his thoughts and claim that he was the only one on this 'small' island.
The current meditation speed was tens of times faster than the old meditation speed. He had filled his body, which had felt empty since gaining his bloodline power, in a few days by renting the metal cultivation room. It didn't even need a metal heart! His body had now turned from black iron to a higher quality metal. Or so he felt.
Finally, that day has come. Handing the key to the teacher, he left the cultivation building.
The teacher watched her back thoughtfully. He felt that even though he was silver rank, he couldn't see inside this young man. He could feel the frightening sensation from him, from the powerful creatures of the black forest. This was incomprehensible to him. After a few hours, he completely closed the cultivation building and left to watch the competition.
Although the students in the Cultivation building were unhappy, the teacher was the absolute ruler here. Whatever he said, they had to do.
After William left the cultivation building, he did not immediately go to the competition area. He wanted to test his strength first. So he made his way to the training building.
When he arrived at the training building, it was empty. There weren't even any overseers. He randomly chose a test column for himself and clenched his fist. It just activated his qi power. It was never prepared. He didn't use his sword. No technique was activated. It was just pure qi and fist power.
After a few seconds, the numbers began to appear. Lastly, it stopped at '19.999'. William was surprised. He frowned at the numbers in the column. He knew that this number was the pinnacle of the bronze level. He should have been happy, but he was strange. He had thought that his current strength would be close to fifty tons. Couldn't he exceed twenty tons no matter what he did?
With these thoughts, he added 'The weight of the Mountain' to his fist. He didn't think it would make much of an impact, but if there was something wrong, it would have been obvious. After a while, he saw the number '19.999' in the column again.
He frowned and pulled out the firebringer. He used the new execution sword technique and hit the pillar with all his might!
'19,999' He started to get angry but there was nothing he could do.
At this time, a man was flying in the sky above the training building. He wore a clean gray robe and a white headband. He had an angular face and a short beard. His hair was an inch long, blocked by a headband. His eyes were a yellow-orange color like a sunset. As he flew, he felt a punch from the training building.
“Is there anyone training even at this hour?” He was surprised and out of curiosity, he decided to have a look.
He slowly crept towards the door of the training building. He nodded when he saw a well-built young man in front of the pillar, but then when he saw the pillar, he couldn't help widening his eyes. He could sense that he was at the pinnacle of iron, but the numbers in the column were confusing. '19,999' was a number that should not be seen at his level.
Seeing the young man frowning and nervously looking at his sword, he could not stand it and approach.
William hadn't noticed anyone standing at the door, but he sensed it the moment the man moved. He immediately turned and looked behind him and saw a middle-aged but imposing figure standing in front of him. It was someone he didn't know completely and there was no symbol on his body. Teacher or student, the former was more possible.
The middle-aged man was surprised at the feeling of it, but he approached undetected.
Seeing the middle-aged man coming towards him, William immediately tossed his sword into his dimensional bag and turned to leave. He didn't want to get into any unnecessary conversation. Besides, he wasted a lot of time here.
When the middle-aged man saw him leave without saying a word, not even a greeting, he got angry. He frowned, opened his mouth, wanted to shout, but couldn't. Because he realized that he had nothing to say. What could he even say? Did he think to himself? 'How are you so strong? What technique did you use?' Such silly questions would only make the other person suspicious.
He could only sigh in anger. He watched the youth's back for a long time until he was out of sight. Then he stamped his feet at the entrance of the training building and rose to the sky like a star. Downstairs, he was even more surprised to see the youth walking towards the newly built arena. He thought to himself, raising an eyebrow. 'A new student joining?'
He would soon learn the answer, however. He quickly flew into the arena and entered before William.
William didn't care much for the strange middle-aged man just before. He moved towards the newly built arena.
He couldn't help but be surprised when he saw the arena in front of him. It looked the same as the arenas of the ancient novel that he remembered from his old life. It was built on high pillars. It had four entrances. William walked to the south entrance, the direction he had come from.
When he entered through the south entrance door, he saw a table inside. A small banner read the registration desk. Three people were waiting in line. Probably everyone had already arrived. He could hear the quarrels coming from inside. Quickly it was his turn and he gave his seal to the teacher at the table. After a brief look, the teacher gave him a badge with the number 545 and told him to wear it on his chest. Finally, he reminded him to walk through the door on the right.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
William entered with heavy steps through the door on the right. This door led him directly to the chairs in the corner of the huge arena. It had a very simple layout. The arena was designed in a round shape. At the edges of the arena, there were chairs for the contestants to wait. After taking a good look at the contestants, William confirmed that he was the last to join for now. Strangely enough, he didn't remember having this many students when he was being tested at the entrance. 'Probably those from other kingdoms were taken at different times.' he thought.
He quickly found Merlon and it was empty beside him. He had reserved a chair for her. He walked quickly near the chairs and sat next to Merlon on the east side.
He waited, smiling. They had a short chat with Merlon. Merlon was so excited that he couldn't get new information out of his mouth. He was constantly changing the subject and talking about the strength he would display when he was soon in the arena. At this time, he had opened all the meridians and was preparing to pass through the death gate, but before he could reach the iron level, it was time to race. As well as talent mattered, resources and luck were a part of it. Although William didn't get much help with resources, he was lucky. Maybe not as well as the main characters in the books, but he thought he was good enough to write his own story. He thought it might be a sweet side story.
William glanced at the audience seats in the arena. He managed to catch a few killing glances. From their body features, he quickly realized that these people might be Dullan or Leslie's older brothers. He gave them an innocent smile and looked at the teachers' section. They were all lined up between the north gate and the west gate. He counted about forty teachers. 'The academy is so powerful!' he thought. He had to raise an eyebrow as he glanced at the highest seat.
He just saw that it was the one he didn't care about in the training building! He was a little surprised. But when he felt the man's angry eyes staring at him, he straightened himself.
He thought to himself, 'So this is gold level, academy director?' he thought. As the headmaster's piercing gaze slowly began to hurt his eyes, he changed his sight and looked at the arena.
The arena was a huge square platform. He didn't know what stone it was made of, but it looked solid. A teacher was standing on a high platform by the arena. A weapon rack filled with various weapons was placed on either side of the arena. 'I think it is forbidden to use our weapons.' He guessed.
He then heard the academy principal stand up and clear his throat. The people who spoke immediately fell silent and began to listen carefully.
“All of you, welcome to the Clean Blood Contest, the first of which will be held this year.” The applause fell like a treasure. Then the manager made a sign of calm with his hands.
“I will not prolong it. The competition will be in the form of double matches. You can use any weapon or technique you want.”
There was still no sound in the crowd.
“The purpose of this competition is not only to test the strength of the new entrants but also to reward the hardworking ones.”
A smile appeared on the manager's face. Then he looked at the excited crowd and continued speaking.
“I am announcing the awards. One ten cubic meters dimensional bag and one hundred contribution point to the top ten.”
The crowd applauded wildly. William's face kept the same straight expression. This award was too little for him. He even thought, 'A drop of water for the poor'.
The manager continued. “There is a more special prize for the top three. Anyone who can make the top three will receive an extra ten soul stones! Then again, I will choose a student from the top three!” yell.
The crowd went crazy this time! Being a disciple of a gold-ranking person would not only help to be good at strength. It brought with it expensive things like status.
William had thrown aside the idea of becoming the principal's student he so longed for a few moments ago. His first impression of the manager was bad. First of all, this guy wasn't 'Cool'. He expected his teacher to coolly save him, teach him and give him such things as family secrets and all his treasure. That might have been a bit much, but at least he wished this man had a story.
He thought he was just a respected man for the gold rank. This lowered his status in William's eyes.
The manager sat back in his chair with a satisfied expression. Meanwhile, a teacher took the podium in the arena. He started talking.
“There are no rules! If you have any questions, ask them now!” yell.
A few seconds, no one made a sound. 'There are no rules!' Everyone understood what he said. But someone asked just to be sure.
"Teacher! Isn't it illegal to kill?" The teacher turned his head and looked at the person asking the question.
William looked, too, out of curiosity. He saw this person standing up, standing respectfully, and glaring at him angrily.
The headmaster also looked at Dullan and William in the corner of his eyes.
'Are these familiar?' he thought.
The teacher saw that this young man had some kind of disagreement, but he still answered with a stern tone.
“Didn't you hear me say there are no rules? This is the arena, not the playground.” Said. And then he repeated it. “Any other questions?” There was a long silence this time. Dullan was seated, too.
William looked at Dullan's serious, angry face with a mocking smile. He was sure he was furious right now. If someone wanted to play the clown in front of him, he would happily let them. This world was already boring, he needed to have fun now and then.
When the teacher saw that no one was silent, he spoke. “Then let the contest begin! Number 31 number 73!” yell. Hearing, the two people quickly stood facing each other in the arena. There was a small circle painted to keep the distance between the two even. Both stood on it. They gazed at each other for a long time. Neither of them had chosen any weapons.
The youth on William's side looked thin and extremely handsome. His green hair suited him very well. The young man in front of him was a man with a large nose and a wide chin. The difference in appearance between the two was enormous.
He couldn't help but shake his head when he thought of himself in the other youth's place. If it were him, he would beat the handsome young man until he looked like himself.
That's what happened. The handsome youth was someone with a wind element affinity. But he was a complete scumbag. William had recognized his technique at a glance. Because before, when he searched for techniques to improve the execution sword, he had skimmed almost all of them. It was a technique called a finger sword. He could collect the wind at your fingertips, allowing you to wield it like a sword. But he was only good at studying. This idiot was trying to use it as a regular sword. The 'unhandsome' youth just stood there with his mocking eyes, letting him attack. It was obvious that he was a little more experienced. Moreover, he was using a defensive technique belonging to the earth element.
the green-haired youth was now tired and drenched in sweat, the other took action. Now that there was no need to worry about speed, he easily caught him and said, 'I surrender!' He had beaten him cleanly until he could barely shout. The handsome youth's face was pitiful as he left the arena. Several attendants came and carried him on a stretcher. William gave the winning youth a thumbs up. He thought he deserved it.
