Discovery

'Damn!' thought William. 'Had I known this would happen, I would have definitely refused.'

Wolf muttered something to him. It sounded like he was telling him to get down. William could now more or less understand what the wolf meant by the movements of his head.

As the wolf walked slowly and carefully into the mist, he lowered his head and muttered to William again in a low voice.

William immediately understood what he meant. He lowered his head and began to sneak around like wolves.

There were at least twenty wolves on their way here, but only five wolves and William got in.

One of the wolves was bronze-level, one was a little bastard, and the other three were mid-iron level wolves.

William was the third to enter the mist. The other three wolves followed behind him.

Inside the mist could be described as a completely different world. After a few tens of meters, the color of the ground changed, the red earth filled with lush green grass gave way to ash gray withered grass.

He could see a few trees inside, but almost all of the trees looked dry or burned. Looking around, he felt no visible life force. This included the soil itself and the trees.

Only fifty meters from the entrance of the fog was very thick. William could see almost nothing within fifty meters. It just went straight ahead. After the fifty-meter line, the mist lessened. He could now see clearly twenty or thirty meters ahead of him. This included wolves.

William was surprised to see such a thing for the first time and was thrilled by the discovery. Because according to rumors, even the academy principal was afraid to enter these forbidden areas, but although he was afraid, he verbally encouraged the bronze level and above to enter for possible treasures.

As for what a gold rank warrior feared here for, William didn't even want to think about it.

The little wolf gave him a low purr again. He was telling him to follow him calmly.

After about five hundred meters, the wolf muttered to him again. He pointed ahead. He was telling him to go ahead.

William approached and asked calmly. “Shall I take out my sword? Should I be prepared for any situation?”

The little wolf nodded yes.

William did as he was told and drew his sword. He was advancing cautiously again and making no sound, but this time he had gently pulled the sword out of the sheath.

After walking like this for a while, they came to the last place William wanted to see. This place scared him to the bone. Although he could fight and kill someone, such places still seemed strange, incomprehensible, and frightening to him. It took some more time to get used to it.

The place they came to looked like an old battlefield. There were skeletal remains and half-dehydrated corpses everywhere.

The wolf nodded to him to move forward. William had no choice but to move forward. He was self-motivated.

'Will, you will either herd this sheep or leave this land.'

This time he walked more carefully. A feeling began to rise in him as if he was constantly being followed. It was as if the bones under his feet were alive and his eyes were staring at him.

William felt an itch on his feet as he walked and looked down.

'It's alive!' A bone protruded from the ground and grabbed his ankle. He immediately cut that bone with fear and great strength.

Fortunately, this bone did not belong to a powerful creature or human. The firebringer was able to cut it with ease. Out of fear, he hadn't even used the execution sword.

The little wolf looked at him strangely. It was as if he couldn't understand why he was so scared.

After walking another kilometer like this, they came to the edge of a forest that exuded an air of death. The trees here were alive, but the shape of all of them was strange. Its leaves were ash-gray instead of green. Their bodies were almost black.

The wolf pointed inside. They had to go into the forest. William could sense something in this forest that frightened him even more than the bony ground. He didn't know what it was, but it certainly wasn't a good thing.

He still entered. Although this forest frightened him, he knew that he had to take the blood of these wolves. Their bloodline might perhaps be of use to him.

It was like an ordinary forest inside. It was a place where he could easily go for a walk and hunt if it wasn't dark and covered in fog. The ground was flat. Most of the fallen leaves of the trees in the previous season covered the ground like a carpet.

After a while, they came to a clearing. In this thirty-meter-wide clearing, William encountered a scene that saddened him. Five skeletons dressed in academy outfits lay silently at the foot of the trees. Their skeletons were all in one piece. It was as if they had died while sleeping. They were all warriors in armor. He even liked someone's armor very much. He thought it would suit him. It was made from the scales of a red creature. It was like fish scales. The rows were lined up. It looked like ancient Chinese armor.

Although they were skeletons, William did not dare to approach them. As he was about to ask the wolf to pass by, he heard a rubbing sound.

He immediately turned his head and looked. The skeleton, whose armor he liked, turned his head to look at him.

The two of them came face to face. Then a power began to gather in the skeleton. The other four skeletons were the same. They were getting stronger. It was as if a spiritual force had come out of nothingness, strengthening their bones.

William couldn't understand why a skeleton looked like it was alive because there was no qi pool, but now that question mark was cleared in his mind. Spiritual power pierced into their bones.

William was not an idiot. He wasn't going to wait for them to get stronger. Immediately using 'Like a Volcano', he was thrown into the strongest-looking skeleton. He came to it instantly. With one slash of his sword, he cut off his head like wood. As he was cutting, he heard the sound of the ax hitting the wood. Had he waited a little longer, he certainly wouldn't have been able to cut it anymore. He immediately cut off both arms and both legs holding the sword. Then he kicked it away with his feet.

'Just what's going on,' he thought.

Meanwhile, while he was dealing with the strongest, the other wolves were still staring at him. Only the bronze rank wolf understood the reason for his actions and was thrown at the other skeletons. Not waiting for the other wolves to enter battle, William hurried and threw himself at the remaining skeletons. Although these skeletons were former members of the academy, they were now dead and erased from the stage of history. That's why he didn't feel any emotion.

He just cut. The last four skeletons looked like they were going to rise to the top of the iron level, only the first skeleton he cut showed signs of advancing to the bronze level. Therefore, it was very easy for him to take down the others along with the bronze rank wolf. He said to himself, 'Never wait. Be the first to attack!'

After finishing off the five skeletons, William collected armor and swords that were intact, though he didn't know how many years had passed. In fact, during this loot, he also found five dimensional bags inside the five skeletons that he hadn't noticed before.

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

He pocketed them all for a later check. The wolves didn't mind him taking his own loot. After all, they couldn't use them.

After a breather and William peeing, they continued on their way. He had peed under a tree. Even though the wolves were bothered by the smell while he peed, they did nothing. They just made a funny 'sour face'.

There was nothing to do. After all, he was constantly nervous ever since he entered this place. It was normal for his body to work fast and fill his bladder.

They did not encounter any other danger as they proceeded. This time the wolves took the lead. William didn't feel the danger waning after that, but certainly, less than the wolves were emboldened.

They walked about two kilometers. Throughout this walk, they constantly saw corpses and bones around, but it seemed as if there was no danger as long as you didn't get close. William wrote this as a note to his mind.

After a while, they saw the shadow of a tower-like structure in the distance. The wolf was pointing with his head.

William thought it might be one of the famous mage towers. There was only one of the four great kingdoms. The wealth of the entire continent was enough for only one tower. William could guess that this was due to the materials it was made of and the tools it contained, but he did not expect to encounter such a tower here.

He was immediately excited. Right now, his spirit was maybe strong enough to become a mage. If he encountered a method of meditation here, he would maybe learn.

He had a rising zeal to become a mage. Being able to freely interact with and manipulate the elements was what he always wanted most. His techniques as a warrior at this time were not considered magic. They were just like weak, supportive spells. A real spell was very different.

He still remembered the scene where Baldur killed the big worm.

The wolf woke him from his thoughts with a growl. He pointed to a wolf and told him to ride. They ran the next road. They had not encountered any skeletons or creatures. There seemed to be no danger.

The wolves brought him to the edge of a lake. The mage tower stood silently upright and proud right next to it. But it could not hide the traces of time from William's eyes. Some parts were destroyed. But the doors and windows were completely intact.

There was a big tree by the lake. It was at least thirty meters long. Its branches drooped like willows. He could see a shadow wandering among the drooping branches.

He felt a shudder as he looked at the shadow. The level of this shadow was higher than him. The wolves were staring at that shadow, snarling silently. As if they were facing a great enemy.

The little wolf was pointing to the tree, muttering with his head. William did not understand at first, but upon a second glance, he saw that there were several fruits on the tree. Its shape was strange. It looked like an eggplant. Most of them were hidden among the branches of the tree. There was not much for such a tree. He could only see ten. Behind it, he thought, were at most ten more. It was this fruit that the wolves wanted, obviously.

The shadow between the tree was also classically its protector. The wolves wanted to attack but were obviously afraid to take the first step. So they pointed to William. They wanted him to attack first.

“Are you crazy? I'm not even bronze level!” he said, looking at the wolves.

The little wolf pointed at the sword and snarled.

William said, “Is that enough? Is fire its weak spot?” showing the sword.

Wolf shook his head.

"I don't trust you at all, but I do." Said.

The wolf grimaced and muttered something.

William drew his sword and put the sheath in his dimensional bag. Slowly, himself at the front, he approached the tree with the wolves. When they got to the edge of the tree, fifty yards away, the shadow stopped moving.

William noticed, but didn't stop. When they came within thirty meters, they heard a scream. The shadow was shouting at them under the tree. It was such a raspy agonizing cry that some of the wolves were showing signs of giving up. William was scared too!

The scream had a distinctive sound. It was as if it was penetrating directly into his soul. “Go!” he was sending signals.

The little wolf also showed reluctance on his face, but he held on. He let out a low howl and continued walking. William, the little and big wolf, the three of them side by side.

The wolves behind were excited by this howl. When they got within twenty meters of the tree, the shadow couldn't take it anymore, it rushed out from under the tree and dashed to William and the wolves, whom it saw as invaders.

William felt as if he was living one of his most terrifying dreams when he saw the creature thrown at him.

The creature had beautiful breasts and a perfect female body. Her long white hair reached her feet. But her hands and feet were just like the claws of creatures. They emitted a gray metallic sheen. William instantly felt that he should definitely not be injured by those claws.

However, the last creature was able to see its face. In the middle of the creature's face was a completely vertical mouth!

Her two eyes were as far from her normal place as possible!

Such a beautiful body, such an ugly face! Before they could sigh, "Unjust world," the creature had come to them. It was radiating a mid-Bronze level power.

She extended her claw and her first target was the weakest little wolf. William used the execution sword to the moment. There were five meters between them and the wolf. So he used 'Like a Volcano' to catch up and dashed to meet the creature's claws, leaving the burnt ground behind him.

“DINGGGGG!”

The sword rebounded from its sharp claws. It wasn't sharp enough as he wasn't currently using his strengthens. The creature was also stronger than him. Between his two fingers, it felt like it was going to tear from the force of reaction.

Meanwhile, the bronze-ranked wolf did not sit idle. It took advantage of the two's exchange of blows and slid its huge claw into the creature's back!

It left three deep claw marks, but not enough to kill the creature. William felt that this creature could be immortal unless he was the one who killed it. Because in a few seconds, the claw marks that opened slowly merged together as if there was an invisible hand prickling them.

William immediately shouted out at this scene. “Keep attacking! I will kill it! Little wolf, back off!” said.

He didn't forget the little wolf either. He knew he was too weak for this battle.

The big wolf continued to attack as if he understood his words. Their claws collided, but it was just a metallic sound. He knew the big wolf was at a disadvantage. His claws were starting to lose strength.

William was waiting for the opportune moment. He unlocked his sword's sharpness strengthen, wielding the sword of execution and the weight of the Mountain even though it had little effect. He didn't want to waste his qi power on the sword's weight strengthen. It was a good idea to keep it to yourself, as he wouldn't know what would happen next.

About a minute later, just as he was about to claw at the wolf's head, exhausted with excitement on the creature's ugly face, William saw his opportunity.

He instantly used 'Like a Volcano' and cut the creature's neck under the excited face with his sword.

The creature was frozen. Ten meters away, William appeared suddenly. He had moved so fast that the little wolf thought he was teleporting.

William pulled the sheath from his dimensional bag and holstered his sword, with his back to the creature.

“Kacha!”

He hung his sword around his waist.

“Here goes another one.” He muttered.

William's face was smiling in a very strange way. 'I was so cool,' he thought.

Then he calmed himself down and turned around.

He saw the creature's headless corpse burning slowly, and the great wolf breathing like an old uncle dying from a cigarette.

The big wolf had worked hard to kill this creature.

The creature was burning in a different way than normal. Its head quickly turned to ashes. Although Its body was also a little slower, the places where the fire came into contact were quickly turning into ashes. William knew it wasn't because of his firepower or his sword. 'This creature must be special,' he thought.

After a while, its chest area also burned, and a blue crystal fell from where its heart was.

He was surprised and went ahead and took that crystal.

He was surprised by the notification in front of him.

It read [Skrecwee Crystal (Middle Bronze) x1].

'A Skrecwee? What is that?' He didn't know what Skrecwee meant. He hadn't mentioned a humanoid creature like this in any book he'd read before.

When he looked up, he realized that the little wolf was looking at him with disgust. It was as if the cool move he had just made was nothing in his eyes. Moreover, he felt that crystal disgusted him. William simply smiled and tossed the crystal into his dimensional bag.

The big wolf got up after a little rest. They all walked into the tree. The little wolf nodded again and asked him to pick the fruits. When William touched the first fruit, he was astonished by the writing he encountered.

[Fruit of Life (Artificial) x1] 'Fruit of life? And is it artificial? Is this something like an experimental product? Did the owner of this tower do it?'

William couldn't help but think. The name Fruit of Life sounded very strange to him. He knew he had to increase his life force, but could such a thing be done artificially? He knew that such fruits and plants form naturally in nature. 'How knowledgeable was the owner of this tower in magic yet capable of producing the fruit of life?'

William was now becoming more interested in the interior of the tower. He picked all the fruits and placed them in front of the little wolf. There were twenty-one fruits in total.

The little wolf separated five of them and handed them to William. He was giving it to him as an extra payment. William gladly agreed.

He even thought it would be difficult for them to carry with his mouth, so he took an outfit out of his dimensional bag and turned it into a bundle. Then he tied the fruits and gave them to the big wolf.

The little wolf muttered thanks. Then they all sat down and began to rest. William looked back at the three wolves. He felt that they had won awards for nothing. He had done almost all the work himself with the bronze rank wolf. He considered whether he should use them or not. Then he gave up. He wanted to explore this tower on his own. Naturally, he only wanted the award for himself.

Greed showed up again. William could sense it, but for now, he could not control human nature.
