In the middle of the city, there was a very famous cafe that everyone in the nation knows of. Franchise stores of this cafe brand can be seen in every major city and landmark. If you visit a mall or a supermarket, you can be sure that there’s a store nearby. This cafe was called Chromic Cafe which served top-of-the-line coffee made from beans that were imported from the country made of beans itself. It was even said that this coffee could make you achieve your dreams better, of course, there was no evidence for that.
There was a group of girls sitting on the table right next to the window, chatting and gossiping with each other. This was the best seat in the house reserved only for those VIP customers who paid an expensive membership to the cafe. They all wore outfits that didn't exactly fit the casual and urban energy of the coffee house itself, but that’s what made them stand out amongst all the people in this cafe.
All the people around them looked at them, either annoyed or impressed at their stature. They were a cut above people, in terms of their regality. They looked like those groups of elite people who were inheritors.
Of course, that wasn’t the truth. They were simply one of those people who wore expensive clothes because they wanted other people to think that they were rich.
“Did you buy the new Chromic line bag?”
“Uh, yes I did. I just forgot to bring it here.”
“Yeah, right. Like buying that bag could make you as beautiful as Xandra.”
“How can I even compare to the Chromic princess herself? She’s rich, she’s beautiful, and she’s talented. How can I even compare to her?”
Alexandria Von Chromic was the inheritor of the Chromic family. Her family owned a lot of businesses that netted them tremendous amounts of money in the entire world itself. They had their hands in everything: they were in the food industry, they were in real estate, and they were even in the adventuring business. If you wanted to buy something, then you could rest assured that the Chromic conglomerate had it.
Alexandria, or Xandra as she liked to be called, was the only daughter of the Chromic family, meaning that she would be the one to inherit the family business in the future. And even though she was fated in the Money route, people couldn’t help but fantasize about her becoming an idol because of her beauty.
Xandra was too beautiful to just be stuck as a CEO of a company. If she were to inherit the company of her family, then she would be working in the background of everything. This was a tremendous waste of her beauty! People thought that her long blue hair and her silky white skin were more suited to become a brand ambassador who was at the forefront of everything.
“Uh, I wish I was as beautiful as Xandra.”
“Yeah, can’t she share that beauty with the rest of us? She’s just going to be a CEO anyway, those looks will be wasted!”
“Do you guys think that Xandra should become an idol?
“She already is! Even the Venus Production Clan wants to recruit her and become an idol! That’s a clan that’s managed by a Supreme Being Herself! The Venus God, the goddess of beauty herself, wants her to become one of her disciples!”
If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
One of the Supreme Beings, the Venus God, was famous for her beauty that transcended everything. She was one of the Beings in the Fame route who had taken over the entire world because of her beauty. The Venus Production Clan was a company that produced superstar idols with a 100% probability of them becoming a household name. Every aspiring idol wanted to be recruited by them.
“Uh! Why can’t her family just let her become an idol?”
“Their Chromic matriarch is so conservative. She’s one of those people who hate everything related to the Fame route. They consider it as their eternal rival.”
Most of the conservative Dreamers in the world have their eternal rival. Conservatives in the Fame route hate those in the Power route. Conservatives in the Power route hate those in the Money route. And finally, those on the Money route hate those on the Fame route.
This could be explained through the very simple children’s game. Power, Money, Fame.
Power > Fame > Money > Power
It was generally accepted that when two Dreamers were at the same level and had the same power output, they would end up in a stalemate. However, it was also accepted that if one was in the Power route, those in the Money route would beat them even if they were at the same level.
Each route was strong against one route and weak against the other. It was a never-ending cycle of a dog-eat-dog world, that’s why every Route was equal in strength. The only way to break this cycle was to become the apex and pinnacle of your Route, only then can you break convention and overpower the over routes. Only Supreme Beings could make the impossible become possible.
TRING TRING
Suddenly, the door to the cafe opened, ringing the chimes on the door. No one was supposed to pay any attention to them because they were either busy minding their own business or looking at those girls by the window.
One of the two newcomers was beautiful with her short golden locks and a cute round face. She was by far the most beautiful girl in the cafe and she immediately captivated the men in the room no matter their ages. And even though she was only wearing minimalistic clothes that emphasized exclusivity and taste without looking overly gaudy, she somehow looked very expensive. She was the very definition of quiet luxury.
The girl by her side was wearing an all-black outfit. She was wearing a puffy black jacket that hid her body and a black cap that hid the top of her face. Her hair was also braided and tucked into her cap, making her look invisible and unassuming, especially with her friend taking all the spotlight with her. The only clue that she had an exquisite figure was due to her black yoga pants that clung to her long and slender legs.
“Come on, X. You have to go to the ball. Your mother isn’t going to be happy when she finds out you’re not there,” said the blonde girl as she sat with her friend in the very corner of the room.
The girl in the black cup put her head down even deeper, obscuring her face even more. “I can’t.”
“What do you mean, you can't? It’s not like you have other plans.”
And even though the two of them were at the very discrete corner of the room, all the guys seemed to gravitate towards them. The disturbance in the room was heavily skewed towards them, making the girls in the window annoyed that someone stole their spotlight.
“Who are they?”
“I don’t know, but they look annoying.”
“How about we show them who’s the queen of this cafe?”
All the girls by the window giggled as they planned something devious to teach those two girls a lesson. One of them had a D-class Teqx called Hot Slap where she could control boiling water and bend them however she liked. It wasn’t a coincidence that this group of girls liked to hang out at a cafe where they were serving hot coffee all the time. They would end up ‘teaching’ a few girls every day using this trick.
Just as when a waiter was about to pass through the two girls, the cup of coffee suddenly started wiggling side to side until the whole coffee tipped over and created a splash toward the blond girl and her friend. It was immediately obvious that this was no accident because no coffee would turn into a tsunami-like wave just because of small turbulence.
The two girls were minding their own business when all of a sudden a storm of hot coffee splashed toward them. They could only react after it was all too late. The mean girls by the window thought that their scheme worked, but then they saw something lit up from the girls.
Transparent hexagonal armor plates suddenly hovered above the two girl’s skins, protecting them from the hot coffee. They were surprised at this sudden attack, but they weren’t flustered. They knew nothing could penetrate their defenses.
“Holo…holographic defense clothes?!?!”
The mean girls couldn’t help but exclaim. Those hexagonal armor plates were a product of integrating Kores into armor and enhancing their defensive capabilities. The result was a bulky and heavy compartment in the armor, but it was worth it because of how much armor it added.
But those two girls weren’t wearing anything that heavy! That meant that their Kore defenses were integrated into their clothes themselves! Creating such flexible and small armor plates was only reserved for those extremely rich enough to invest millions upon millions of Chains just for a single piece of clothing.
The two girls were unaffected, but unfortunately, the wind caused by the Teqx ability suddenly caused the black cap to be thrown up.
As the cap flew away from her head, the other girl’s extremely beautiful face was suddenly revealed. Her long blue hair untangled from her bun and flowed down to her back.
TRING TRING
Just then, the door opened again as two more people walked in.
“I’m telling you, we should join the Ruobbers company. Come on, Patty.”
