Patty waited for something to happen, but—nothing. He thought that he could partially summon this minion like at least a shadow of it, but nothing changed.
The minion was no longer in the system screen, which told him that it was partially summoned, and the system itself stated that the summoning was successful. Then why couldn’t he see it?
Was it just too small to see? He didn’t know. And unlike the Tendora which gave him a quantitative benefit that he could see and count, the Muscava gave him no such thing.
The description only said: ‘increased senses and instincts’
How was he to know how much his senses or instincts increased. It was true that he didn’t know how much 1 Yi Power increased his physical strength, but at least he knew that he was so much better than he was before. He went from 1 to 25. That was easy to see and comprehend.
But with the Muscava, it was just a vague description. And, it didn’t improve his senses and his instincts everyday. It was just static. He wouldn’t improve his senses everyday.
He was starting to doubt whether the Muscava minion really was an A-class minion. How could the D-class Tendora be better at every aspect than an A-class minion?!
He would have at least understood it if he could summon the Muscava, but he couldn’t even do that.
He wanted to complain to the system about how unfair it all was, but he knew that it would just fall on deaf ears, if it even had ears. He just couldn’t believe it.
Did the summoning really fail?
DING DONG
The whole school was filled with the ringing of the school bell. It signaled the official start of morning classes.
“Okay seeing as most of you are already here, let’s officially start our classes. I hope you will take what you learned about Teqx and apply it in your journey. And for those of you who missed it, come a little earlier next time.”
[Mission]
[Requirement]
* Attend Prof Ortez’s lecture
[Rewards]
* 10 Ether
* 15 Minion Growth Crystal
The school bell rang, and for Patty, that meant it was time to sleep. Regardless of what the Professor said and what problems he had or will have, Patty will sleep in class.
The mission didn’t even register in his mind. There was no way he was going to forgo sleep just to attend a boring class.
But no matter what he tried, he just couldn’t sleep at all. He used his arms as a pillow and he tried propping up his head using his hands, but he still couldn’t sleep.
Perhaps his nerves from the failed summoning and the energy problem was still weighing heavily on his mind. And even though he might possibly die in the next few days because he might lost all energy while dashing in 100 meters, Patty wasn’t actually thinking about it at all.
Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
If it was anybody else, they would be scheming plans that would allow them to skip the 100 meter dash or just thinking about how to increase his energy levels so that he could perform the exercise safely.
If it was anybody else, they would do anything they could. Their desperation in the face of death would make them shatter their own glasses of shame and embarrassment as they tried whatever they could to survive.
But Patty wasn’t like other people. His solution for the Physicality Test? Nothing. His solution for a potentially dangerous and alien being residing in his subconscious as the system and controlling his body? Nothing.
It wasn’t that he didn’t care about himself or the outcome, it was just that he was too lazy to think about them.
If he died because he was forced to perform the 100 meter dash, then he would accept that he died.
If the system finally showed its dark side and erased his own subconscious from his brain and replaced him, then he would accept at that time that he died.
If at that time he failed because he did nothing, then he would accept that.
He just believed that everything would work out for him, regardless of how dire or dangerous the situation was. He believed that even without his intervention, it would eventually work out.
If other people knew that, they would think that he was a lunatic. It was unreasonable to think that everything would work out for him just because he thought it would.
It would take a tremendous amount of coincidences and luck to make that happen. But that was just how Patty believed in his own success.
It was his credo. If he failed because his own belief was wrong, then he would accept that.
Because it was his way. It was the lazy way!
“Okay class, let’s discuss your dreams.” Professor Mortimer Wraitheborne took out a stack of papers from his desk. It was the same survey question that he had given out to his students a week before.
Each student meticulously planned out their dreams on that paper. It was the very essence of what they wanted to achieve in life.
It was divided into three categories. POWER, MONEY, and FAME.
“Let’s start with Griffin Sunverk, son of the Great Sonny Sunverk,” the Professor praised. It was a pleasure for him to be the teacher of the Blazing Judo Master’s son.
His father was renowned all throughout the nation for having a burning will for greatness coupled with a fiery personality that could melt his enemies or melt the heart of his fans. He was the founding father of the Sunverk Dojo, which meant that Griff could inherit the mantle of Master in the future.
The Professor looked at Griffin’s answer and tilted his head. “Hmm…because of your lineage, I would have thought you would pick Martial God as your ultimate dream.”
It was only natural for him to pick this job. But he didn’t. The Professor searched for his dream in the POWER section but couldn’t find it.
And just as the Professor turned the page to search for the dream in the other sections, Griff suddenly broke out in a huge laughter.
“HAHAHAHA, I forgot to pick something.” Griff along with his three lackeys laughed to themselves. Only they were laughing. Only privileged inheritors like him would have the guts to make fun of dreams.
“Griff. This is important. Corporations and Groups will look at this paper as a resume.”
“Doesn't matter,” Griff answered. “I’ll just follow in my father’s footsteps no matter what I do.”
The Professor sighed and shook his head. “Even Guilds look at this. You can inherit a Teqx from your family, but you need to have a job. The top guilds will look at things like this and decide if they want to employ you or not.”
Griff, in response, just shrugged.
“Class, even if you have inherited a Teqx doesn't mean you can take it easy. For example, things like IQ, reflexes, instincts, and senses can only be enhanced by hard work. You have to practice it every day of your life before you see an improvement.”
Griff just rolled his eyes. The Professor sounded just like his father.
“Unless you have a Teqx that specifically enhances your senses or reactions, there is no easy solution to improving them. You can’t drink a potion to improve it, you can’t buy it, and you can’t just magically attain it out of the blue. You have to work hard for it.”
Griff wasn’t listening. He just sneered along with his friends.
“I knew I was going to have problems with Patty, but I didn’t think you would also give me a headache.”
Now that ticked off Griff. It was one thing to be lectured because of insignificant things, but it was another thing to compare him to that lazy bum Patty. He couldn’t even believe that he was mentioned in the same sentence.
“Patty at least submitted something, despite how ridiculous it was.”
Another dagger to his ego. Was the Professor saying that the torpid and indolent Patty was somehow…better than him?!
The moment when Patty dodged his leg all came flashing back to him. That embarrassment filled his head and reddened his ears almost to the point of smoke coming out of it.
He had to prove to everybody that they shouldn’t even put the two of them together in the same thought, much less the same sentence.
He would show Patty the reason why inheritors were so much superior than normies like him. His father told him to keep it a secret, but in truth, he already had a Teqx of his own.
He outclassed every single person in this class, even by his physicality alone. And with a Teqx, nobody stood a chance.
Especially since he had an A-class Red Power Teqx.
He inherited it directly from his father and he already started the cultivation journey of strengthening his body in preparation for unlocking the skills in the Teqx itself. And in doing so, his physical strength already surpassed the normal human.
He took out an eraser from his bag and held it in hands. Once he threw this to Patty at ridiculous speeds, it would feel like a direct hit from a pellet gun that was the size of an eraser.
Patty was famous for having sluggish reactions. It was fitting, really; his reactions were as lazy as him. He was sure that Patty wouldn’t even know what happened to him until he was at the floor seeing stars above his head.
He threw the eraser with speeds that were humanly impossible. His hands were quick and decisive. It headed straight for Patty’s head.
