After Leonard left with the 53% pure Kore, Patty couldn’t help but chuckle out loud.
“ha..hahah…Hahaha…HAHAHAHA!”
He couldn’t believe how easy it was to earn so much money. 110,000 Chains! That was enough for Patty to live quietly in his bed for an entire year! He could order all the food he wanted for delivery, he could afford an impulse to buy infomercials on the television, and he could line up his whole room with all the merch and figurines from his favorite animation show, Space Invaders!
The best thing about this was that he didn’t do anything to get the Kores. He got it from Achram in the Virtual World as a sacrifice for saving his life. Even though Patty didn’t do anything. It was all his minions who did the hard work, and Patty reaped all the rewards, as usual. This was why he was so addicted to summoning more minions. They were funding his laziness!
Although he still had more Kores to sell, for now, one hundred thousand chains was enough to buy the very thing that he wanted this whole time: a massage chair! He immediately went on to the internet and looked at all the selections for massage chairs.
Every one of those was a top-of-the-line massage chair that could be bought and delivered right to his door within a few minutes. These were the chairs that were advertised as a luxury item for wealthy people to show off their richness. There was even a bulk purchase option on their website for wealthy customers who wanted only massage chairs on their mansions.
The more expensive the chair was, the more utilities it had. The La-Z-Boy X5000 was a simple massage chair with a 150-degree decline, 4 massage options, and even heaters and coolers on the very machine itself. This was the most basic of massage chairs, but Patty had dreamed of this kind of chair for as long as he could remember.
But now that he had more money, he wasn’t against buying more of the expensive options. The Inclyne Relief Chair had all the options of the previous chair, but it was made by a better company. This meant that the chair would last for longer and was made with better materials for better comfort. This one also had a built-in VR headset where you could watch television or play games on the internet. This was a PC and a massage chair all in one.
The Deluxe Heaben Premium Lounger was a massage chair that could even make professional Dreamers melt onto the chair from the comfort and pleasure that the chair could emit. After all, this chair was made with Kores installed in it to give it special properties that help regenerate a Dreamer’s stamina and powers.
Most athletes buy their chairs from this manufacturer because it was proven scientifically that they improved better when they used this chair after a tough workout.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
All of those were amazing choices for Patty. He reckoned that he would be able to achieve at least 10% relaxation with those chairs, which would give him a +10 energy regeneration every hour. This was a tremendous help to his summoning addition because he had more resources to buy scrolls in the store. That was the only criteria he was looking for.
However, they were all lacking one specific thing he desperately needed. All of those chairs were static. They couldn’t move at all once you installed them into your house. Most of those needed to be plugged into an outlet so that they could be powered up. Not only that, these massage chairs were notoriously heavy.
This wouldn’t be a problem if Patty just stayed in his house forever. However, he knew that wasn’t possible. Sooner or later, he would be forced to go to school again and be forced to leave behind the massage chair in the house. And since he would be at school for at least half a day, he could only enjoy the massage chair during holidays or weekends. That was extremely wasteful.
If he was going to purchase a massage chair, then he should buy something that he could use all the time. He needed a massage chair that could move.
He changed his criteria for massage chairs on the website. Soon, the normal massage chairs were taken out and a new selection of massage chairs was shown to Patty. Maybe ‘selection’ shouldn’t be the right word because there was only one chair that popped up on the screen.
That was the only massage chair that was on the screen. Patty tried to refresh the screen, but the selection didn’t change. There was only one chair that was available for purchase. Not only that, it wasn’t an official item from the website, meaning that it wasn’t a verified product. This ‘Whatever Mk 1’ massage chair was sold by an independent seller on the internet.
He clicked on the chair and saw a blue chair that was extremely similar to the La-Z-Boy X5000 Chair that he had seen earlier. The only difference was that there were small wheels the size of a fist installed on the bottom of the chair.
* It’s just a La-Z-Boy X5000 that’s modded to have electronic wheels powered by energy. Make sure you have Kores with you, or else this thing won’t move. I warned you. No takebacks.
Even the seller themself admitted that it was just a repurposed La-Z-Boy X5000! And the description for the item itself was very unprofessional as if the seller didn’t care if no one bought his stuff at all.
Most people would immediately get turned off when they see this description and the price. After all, they could have bought the original La-Z-Boy X5000 and saved so much money. They could have bought the Deluxe Heaben Premium Lounger for that price, which was multiple times much better than just a massage chair with wheels. Also, not everyone was like Patty who needed wheels to walk outside.
However, Patty was not like most people. He appreciated the brutal honesty of the seller. It saved him from reading a bunch of flowery words that most corporations used to make their item sound better than they were.
Also, he liked the name. It felt like the seller got too lazy to have a cool name on his creation, which Patty felt sympathy for. After all, they were just names. It didn’t need to have any meaning at all. He would also be too lazy to think of a good marketable name and just focus on the item itself rather than the name.
He clicked on the name of the seller to see if he was selling off other items, but it seemed that he was only selling this one thing. Patty didn’t know him, but he got a feeling that he was looking at a comrade. This guy was also lazy like him! He knew exactly what a lazy bum needed and designed it themselves. Patty immediately wanted to buy it.
Patty picked the yes option and used the online check that Leonard gave him. The website quickly confirmed his purchase and sent it over to the seller to pack the item for shipping. According to the website, the delivery would take from 1 to 3 days, which was very slow. Since this was not an official item from the website, they didn’t have it in stock in their factories. If it was, then it could be delivered to his doorstep within minutes.
He still had 26,000 Chains in his check and he immediately transferred it to his government bank account tied directly to himself. He could use his fingerprint, eyes, or even blood to purchase anything with that account, so it was extremely easy to use.
Patty decided to save up at least 10,000 Chains to have food delivered directly to his house every day. Because of the system’s daily mission, he had to consume at least 5,000 Calories every day, which quickly depleted the cup noodles stocked in his pantry.
Even though he was back to being ‘poor’, Patty wasn’t worried. After all, he still had 5 more Kores in his hand, and he could sell these for much more money. He just had to wait until Leonard realized that those Kores were the genuine thing.
Patty, himself, wanted to know if those Kores were the real thing too. After all, he got those from the Virtual World. There was a very small probability that those Kores could be very different from the Kores here in this world. That was a problem that could hinder Patty’s plan of becoming rich.
Hopefully, the Virtual World Kores weren’t all that different from the Kores in this world.
