Chapter 27 - Dealing with the Queen Part 2

The next morning I woke everyone up since it was during my shift for night watch.

When Haliel saw that Alan’s grave had been dug up yesterday, she began acting strangely as the markings that had disappeared came back.

The pressure and aura she gave off in her rage were so intense that even I began to feel afraid.

After some time though, she calmed down and the markings disappeared again.

With everyone up, we decided to have breakfast before we set off to Llyn, even Alissa.

As everyone finished eating, Laurel realized something and asked Haliel who was just about to mount me.

“Wait, Princess Haliel. How will we handle Alissa? We can’t just have her sit with us on Blaze’s back, she may try something again.” [Laurel]

“Hmm, you have a point there. Ah, I know I’ll just make a cage to put her in and have Blaze carry her in it. Though we’ll have to stop before we get to Llyn and make her ride with us into the palace because it would be suspicious if we came back with Alissa in a cage.”

Saying so Haliel jumped down from my back and created a cage made of earth with the spell [Stone Imprisonment].

Haliel broke the cage off with the ground and climbed onto me, followed by Nym and Laurel.

Flapping my wings I flew up and grabbed the cage as well, before flying towards Llyn.

Not long after that, Haliel asked me to go faster and placed a speed enchantment on me, drastically increasing it.

As I couldn’t wait to settle the score with those damn Elves, I used [Enchant: Speed] on Blaze and by nightfall, we reached the outer walls of the Palace.

Before continuing though, we settled down to take Alissa out of the cage and onto Blaze with [Phantom Grasp] to restrict her movements as we landed inside.

The guards that were on night watch came to greet us with spears in hand before noticing it was us and put back their weapons.

As I got off, one of the guards stepped up and asked me why I came back so soon.

“Princess, I thought you were on a trip to sightsee. Why are you back so early and late at night to boot?” [Guard]

“Ah, about that. I had something I forgot to ask Grandma about, it’s really important so I came back as soon as possible.”

“I see, but Queen Silvia is working on a new spell at the moment and is very busy so she may not be able to have a talk with you.” [Guard]

“It’s okay. Alissa has something to report to Grandma so I’ll just go with her.”

“Oh. Alissa, are you perhaps helping the Queen out? Thank you, she rarely has time to come outside nowadays so I’m glad you’re helping her.” [Guard]

“Y-yeah.” [Alissa]

“We’ll be going now then. Keep up the good work Mister Knight.”

I waved my hand at the knight as Alissa lead us towards Queen Silvia’s chamber.

Because it was really late at night, there were only a few guards on patrol so we sneaked our way past them to not draw any attention to us as we approached the giant wooden doors.

“Well, what are you waiting for? Go open the door Alissa.”

“O-okay.” [Alissa]

With my order Alissa went up to the door and knocked on it before waiting for a reply from inside.

“Who is it at this hour!” [Silvia]

“I-it’s me Alissa, my Queen. I have something to report, may I come in?” [Alissa]

“Something to report? I thought you were with that half-blood. Huff. Come in and make it fast, I have other things to worry about.” [Silvia]

Alissa stepped back as the doors begin to open until it was wide enough for her to enter.

We all walked in behind Alissa but then I felt magic being activated underneath our feet and jumped away like Blaze.

The magic formation that appeared soon afterwards binded Alissa, Laurel, and Nym as they weren’t fast enough to act.

“So, you had company with you huh Alissa. But to think that you would come pay me a visit so soon Haliel.” [Silvia]

“So you knew we were coming huh? Then again I would’ve been disappointed if you hadn’t noticed us.”

“What did you come here for half-blood?” [Silvia]

“Is that how you speak to a family member? Now I see why mom hates you so much, ‘Grandma.’”

“Did you come here to pick a fight little girl? You are a thousand years too early.” [Silvia]

“Hmmm, I wanted to talk first actually. But…. since you suggested it I’ll oblige. [Sound Proof]!”

With the doors closed behind us, my magic went into effect and surrounded the room with a sound proof barrier.

“Shall we start now that no one can interrupt us?”

“Heh you really think you can beat me who is level 100? Well, this works out in my favor though so I’ll go with it.” [Silvia]

“Well, that just confirms you were trying to kill me right?”

“Hah, was that how you interpreted it? Well, it doesn’t matter I’ll just deal with all of you here so it doesn’t matter.” [Silvia]

“Then allow me to begin, [Aeroblast!]”

A vortex of air came out of the magic circle on my palm and shot at Silvia.

“Tch. [Wind Barrier]!” [Silvia]

Taking a step back, Silvia covered herself in a sphere of strong wind that clashed with [Aeroblast] and sent everything around her flying.

“Ah, my documents! You dam half-blood!! Do you know how long it took me to organize all of those ancient scripts!!” [Silvia]

“Aww, another quick caster…This is gonna be a bit more painstaking than I thought.”

Completely ignoring the Queen’s complaint, I thought to that to myself as a frown could be seen forming on my face.

Next up I equipped my dad’s dual blade and rushed at Queen Silvia.

“Hmph. Think you can beat me if you have a sword? I defeated plenty of swordsmen before. [Lighting Flash]!” [Silvia]

Cladding herself in lightning, she dashed away just in time before my swords could reach her.

“You are still much too slow and too inexperienced. You’ll be regretting your decision soon.” [Silvia]

“Ha! The only one regretting something after this is you Old hag. Go die already, [Shadow Stride]!”

Entering the shadow I disappeared into the darkness of the room and began my barrage of strikes from there.

Without knowing where I would strike next, Silvia never stood in the same place for too long but that wasn’t enough to evade all my strikes.

After a couple of slashes on her, she finally realized the weakness of this spell, light.

Without a shadow to jump into this spell is useless, but as the room was only dimly lit at the moment, I had plenty of places to pop out from.

“Annoying child, [Ray of Light]!” [Silvia]

In an instant, the room was cover in a bright light that would’ve blinded me had I not closed my eyes.

“[Gale Wind]! [Air Cutter]!” [Silvia]

A gush of wind came rushing at me and I was lifted off the ground while also being slashed by the blades of wind.

The torrent of air slammed me to the wall of the room and encased me tightly in place.

“Princess! Are you alright!” [Laurel]

“I must admit those are some powerful spells for your age but not enough to beat me.” [Silvia]

“This is but the tip of the iceberg and I agree with you, I should get serious now that I know these walls are reinforced with magic. It’s already regenerating.”

“H-how did you get free from that so easily. I even used my mana to make the tree hold on to you!” [Silvia]

“Oh, would you stop screaming already, and you’re not the only one with affinity to nature. Actually I think mine may even be stronger.”

Stolen novel; please report.

Saying so I popped off the wall and landed on the floor.

The wall that earlier had a dent in it was now perfectly fine again.

“[Combustion].”

A magic circle appeared on Silvia’s back as I finished the word and bursted up into flames.

As she was engulfed in the fire, I took this chance and slashed at her but was met by a blade of wind.

“!”

“Huff, Huff. Surprised aren’t you. Never seen voiceless incantation before?” [Silvia]

“I-I’ve heard that it was possible but… to actually achieve it- I’m going to help you now Haliel. I can’t just sit back and watch.” [Blaze]

“No, I’m fine as is Blaze. This is still nothing more then casting her spells faster, it doesn’t change the fact that she’s vulnerable in close combat.”

“You think so half-blood?” [Silvia]

As she said that wind started swirling around her legs and arms and she charged at me with speed that I did not expect from a mage.

I dodged just in time as she swung down her arm and looking back I saw that that swing had created a wind blade which almost hit Blaze.

“Tch. Blaze go protect those three over there. They need it more than I do.”

“Alright!” [Blaze]

After answering me, Blaze ran to the front of those three and transformed back into Phoenix form.

While I looked away Silvia took that chance to kick my side with her leg and sent me flying again.

Ahh, this fucken bitch! Okay no more playing around, time to get serious.

Standing up I saw another incoming kick and I reflexively blocked it with my blades, which clashed with the violent wind surrounding her.

I swung my sword at her but she had already jumped back.

“[Enchant: Speed, Attack, Defense]! [Mi-].”

Before I could finish all my enchantments, Silvia shot blades of  wind at me which I dodged by ducking down and followed it with a roll.

With my recent enhancements on, I could now keep up with her and we exchanged blows while I also had to dodge her spells.

“Damnit, not giving me time to cast any of my spells and enchants huh? Well, it’s fine I’ll just do it while dodging your attacks. [Mind’s Eye]!”

Finally with [Mind’s Eye] active all her movements seemed to slow down and I could perceive all the mana being used, including a patch that was especially pure.

I was about to wonder what it might be but I was reminded that I was still in battle with a kick coming towards my face.

Bending backwards I dodged the incoming kick and countered with a slice to her inner thigh.

“!” [Silvia]

My movements also became sharper along with my senses and my reaction time to her attack surprised her.

Leaping back after that encounter, I could see her grimace when she landed on her left leg, where I had sliced her.

“That was a pretty deep cut. Might be harder for you to move now meaning it’ll be easier for me.”

“Tch. This is nothing.” [Silvia]

Again she closed her mouth and bombarded me with wind magic from all sides as I effortlessly dodged them, in comparison to earlier.

Ha, my other stats may not be much but with my high Intelligence stats, my buffs are crazy strong. But she doesn’t know this does she? Well, even if she does it doesn’t matter because I plan to end this soon.

“Is this really the best you could do? If it’s like this then even Blaze can beat you, or could it be you underestimated me and payed the price?”

“...” [Silvia]

After hearing my words, her glare on me became even more intense as the pressure she gave off also became stronger.

I did the same thing as her and behind me Alissa fainted again due to the pressure while Nym and Laurel were barely hanging own to their consciousness.

“I’ll end you in with this you brat!!! [Divine Hurricane]!” [Silvia]

Hearing the name of the spell, a smirk appeared on my face.

Hehehe, perfect chance to try out [Eye of the Storm] though I wanted to hit her with something else, this will do. I can see how strong it will be with someone as strong as her since this spell takes the strength of my enemy’s attack and add it onto my own to attack them. But before that I better set up another barrier because this part of the Palace would be obliterated otherwise.

“[Absorption Barrier]!”

Using the short amount of time I had before the spell activates, I set up the barrier to protect the room along with Blaze, Nym, Laurel, and Alissa.

A second after I finished setting up the barrier, I saw I giant magic circle above me, large enough to cover the circular room that has a diameter of approximately 20 meters.

“[Eye of the Storm]!”

The moment the magic circle finished forming, winds reaching 100 miles per hour went on a rampage in the enclosed space but instead of hitting me, I became the center of this hurricane.

The wind that Silvia had released was absorbed into my magic circle and was released again but with the target being Silvia.

“Ahh!!!”

This time the wind was even faster and sharper than her’s had been and began thrashing her about.

The effects were wonderful, even if it had been a level 100 monster, it would’ve been ripped apart into tiny pieces.

Looking at Silvia being thrown all over the room and being hit by the debris in this room, I could tell she casted a spell just in time to protect her.

Even with the shield on, it couldn’t do much to protect her aside from preventing her death because I could see her getting bruised and cut all over.

After being thrashed about, the winds died down and she was left on the floor barely conscious.

Walking up to her I gave her a glare as if she was nothing before me.

At this point she could barely talk and was breathing heavily.

“So you were saying I was a thousand years too early? Though I am impressed you survived this attack.”

“...” [Silvia]

“Now tell me, were you the one to who dug up my dad’s grave!?”

“W-what are you... talking about? Even… if… I hate… humans, I won’t do something so low- as to… dig up someone’s grave…” [Silvia]

“Yet it’s fine to mind control my mom? And well, even if you didn’t defile dad’s grave you still tore apart my family… so why should I spare you?”

“I-it was… necessary… to protect the stability… of this empire.” [Silvia]

Hearing her say that pissed me off and I punched her with an enchanted punch to the face.

“Ugh..” [Silvia]

“If you really aren’t the one who destroyed dad’s grave then I have no reason to stain my hands with your blood, so I have a proposal. Release mom from your mind control and we’ll never speak of this event again, what do you say?”

“...” [Silvia]

There was no response but she slowly shook her head and said the words “release” before completely losing consciousness.

I stood up after that and dispelled my enchants but when I was about to walk back to Blaze and the others I was struck with dizzy feeling and my vision began to blur.

Ah, right… mental fatigue from overuse of mana… Didn’t expect [Eye of the Storm]... to consume so much of my mana.

In the instant I got up I also fainted and fell, but before I reached the floor, someone caught me and I blacked out in their arms.

PS. Hmm, does the fight scene seem okay to you guys? I'm not that good at explaining things so it may not sound as epic as it did in my head. Well, hope you guys enjoy it.
